Most of my Grave Guards are pretty standard and generic, but I always have this little guy hiding out in the back row.

Thanks chaps, I appreciate the kind words. I've actually got to build up this unit to thirty, so I need to dig out(up?) another 10 old wights. How about that 8th ed?

They look really old school classy and dirty.
I love them, good luck with expanding it. it will probably be difficult to find GG that fit in with the rest of the unit.

Awesome Grave Guard Mr. Saturday, I've been working on a unit of those heavily armoured, two-handed weapon wielding skeletons as Grave Guard as well, I took a unit of 20 to a tournament last week. Pictures will probably follow in a few weeks time 8)

Thanks Fritz. Nice conversions, I must say. If you don't mind me saying, I think a wash of Devlan mud on your GG would do wonders, especially on the bone.

I love that standard bearer model, I must track down that sprue myself.

There is great need on the webs for tutorials on painting black. It is probably the most requested tutorial out there.

Ok then!

I still have 5 of them to do and I will save the last as tutorial.

On the black: I wanted a weathered, slightly gloomy look. So it's not really black in se. I highlighted the black with black/ shadow grey, shadow grey and codex grey. Normally I blend more, but I'm on a time limit (ETC) and the drastic colour transition helps the look

I guess if you want to paint black, you have to be careful not to go to far in your highlighting, depending on how dark you want it.

Expect the tutorial end this week, beginning next week!
