Hi folks,

Here's a couple of my Vampire Lord which I completed a while ago; the whole army has a purple theme hence the purple cloak and tinted armour (which didn't come out too well in the photo):

Sorastro.

That looks great Sorastro. Vlad is one of my favourite figures and that style of paintjob really suits my tastes. It's really come together nicely. Can I ask how you did the sword and the shoulder spike?

Thanks DoN; I love the figure too, although it's a nightmare to try and rank up with other figues in a unit o_o

The shoulder spike was just a brown basecoat (I can't remember which - possibly Graveyard Earth) highlighted up to Bleached Bone, and a thin white highlight to finish.

The sword was done with a Boltgun Metal basecoat followed by a number of coats of a very thinned down mix of Chaos Black and Blood Red (concentrating more towards the hilt end of the blade). I may have finished with a carefull drybrush of Chainmail just to pick out the edge and central ridge of the blade.

The finished result is a little uneven but suitably grimey - almost like dried blood.

That's a very nice mini. I've never seen it before but i can see why you'd like it. It does sort of resemble Alucard in his ultimate form. :)

It's Velrys, an old Rackham miniature.

That explains it, Rackham had some great mini's. The vlad model looks damn fine as well. I'm not a huge fan of the GW paint job for some reason, most of the ones I see on this site look better.

I really like the sword for your conversion, and it's a very original idea. I just have to ask though, does he have a beard? Don't think I have ever seen a bearded vampire before, but he does have a crazy primal kind of look.
