That Blood dragon is fantastic, I;m not generally a fan of the chaos knight steeds as vamp mounts but that looks great

Where did you get that horse?
I still have basic Armoured Horse(from the old metal vampire on mount) left for my dragondude...

Well, I am back in the hobby after some time dealing with some personal problems, and I thought that sharing pictures of my models would be a good way to start exorcising some ghosts, and getting back into playing the game. Here are some pictures from the Red Duke model, which I use usually as a mounted Vampire Lord.

Hope you enjoy it.

I have some more of other models I use as Vampires, either Lords or Thralls, but for now I need to work on them. I hope to post some more soon.

Found it unpainted in a bits box at my local hobby shop, bought it for 1 euro :)

It's a Warriors of Chaos steed, not sure which edition, though.

Here are a few I've done for myself and as gifts for my best friend to lure him back into playing VCs

Reaper I think
Got this fellow sans his head for a dollar at a local used-book store bargain bin. A ghoul head later and he is ready to suck again

This is my friends birthday present he loves blue and he also doe snot like his undead to be rusty for some reason, so everything I paint for him is shiny!

And his Yule present was a mounted Vamp Lord from Reaper-Warlord

Oh hey. here are some pics of the Vampire Lord I painted up (actually for a birthday... it even says "Ad Multos Annos" on the base... but it's still a Vampire Lord, right?... =)

I don't have a photo box or anything, so I took it in front a rustic painting and turned up the lights all the way. I know. Classy. Just remember I was going for cool picture and not necessarily super accurate lighting.

The whole thing is basically a mess of purples, reds, violets, teals, bronzes, coppers and browns, with a significant amount of black foundation showing through. It's still definitely in the amateur category (pictures in better focus can only hurt this model), but I like the color scheme enough that I might even try to make my first VC counts army fly it.

And yes... the wings are extended in that it probably wouldn't be tabletop legal. To be honest I put it together kind of... wrong... got fed up with the wings falling off constantly when I was trying to attach them, grabbed a fist full of green stuff and went to town.

He also has no center ribs. Totally forgot them. They ended up adding a meaty flavor to the base.

But the point is: Vampire Lord.

Painted this dark lady up for a mate of mine and thought that, since I'm gonna build a VC army in the fairly near future, that I'd post her here and get some feedback:

Beno- I love the dark colors in this model, and i gotta say the shield is my favorite part! the green mossy feel of the shield brings a great sense of realism, the only advice i can give is to bring out the red's by highlighting the armor more, it will bring out the great detail on the beautiful face you painted.

MarquisdeSubir- the blending color contrast is amazing! the vamp hero looks so mysterious and ancient, you said that " It's still definitely in the amateur category" and i beg to differ a whole army painted with the rough patches and swathes of color brings a great fantasy feel during games. stability and technique comes with time but creativity isn't learned. along with low picture focus the lighting is a little off, don't be afraid to show off your stuff in better picture quality the people on this forum are very nice and show nothing but support and assistance.

praetorian13- the mounted reaper vamp is my favorite, the cool color scheme brings the whole thing together, the Strigoi vamp has an awesome skin tone and i think the ghoul head is an improvement over the devilish one it comes with, the problem with those older strigoi's is that its far to easy to put too much paint on them because their sculpt lines are so delicate. i would suggest drybrushing some lighter color on his chest and muscles, looking forward to more of your work!

sword of caine-that armor is fantastic, it seems like you took great care to detail the bronze and the ornamental silver, the cloth looks great as well. Did you use white primer to cover this guy? it looks like some detail has been obscured and usually you get that when using faulty white primer... or as i call it cottage cheese in a can
