I know yellow is a bit unconventional but here goes!

Also my wraith. I dremeled out the stub that the skull sits on as i think he/she looks far more sinister with the cowl empty!

I promise to take better pictures of these guys soon. They were taken for my friends wargaming blog with my camera-phone!

RE: Show us your Wraith's and Banshee

Thanks! It's straight Hawk Turqoise, drybrushed with increasing amounts of skull white blended in. When it was all done I went back and blended some areas regularly, without drybrushing, to make it look a bit smoother, the arms and face for example.

Aha, loving the 'angry ex-wife' :L Wish I could paint ethereal miniatures ...

Howdy Guys,

Just finished off a couple of Cairn Wraiths and a Banshee. Went for a standard 'ghost' feel to them. Enjoyable models to paint, but there were some shocking gaps that need greenstuffing once they were built.

Blackwolf, those look brilliant! really love that shade of blue as well, how did you get it?

RE: Show us your Wraith's and Banshee

The blue is fairly simple. I followed the guide in the January White Dwarf on page 100, with a few short cuts.

Basecoat Astronomican Grey,
Wash with watered down mix of 1:1 Hawk Turquoise and Asurmen Blue
Drybrush with Astronomican Grey
Drybrush with Skull white

Pretty simple and effective blue ghosts :)

Nice, I especially like the rust effect on the Wraiths; How'd that go?

oh wow :| i didnt even realise they were drybrused. so smooooooth!

You can tell most on the base of the cape of one farthest left in the second picture; But it certainly is a rather fine looking dry bush.

Seems good; What green did you use? Looks a lot closer to the scaly green colours? Only thing I'd suggest is just adding the little green/blue wash to the pox marks in the blade, or orange stippling for rusty kinda effect? I think those pox marks are nice details to pick out.

Thanks for the ideas about the blade, I'm yet to experiment with orangy-rust colours on metal but I'm working up to it.

You are right the green is closer to scaly green. I used orkhide on the cloth on the top of the Wraith then black and dark angels green half and half mix on the middle robes the lower cloth was painted black. I then went over it with scaly green and some scaly green/white mixes I have. I then shaded it black and gave it a viridian green wash. Then the edges were highlighted up with the sacly green/white mix using more white gradually.
