It's an entirely fictional colour scheme, based on some post WWI plane liveries and a mix of decals supplied with this kit and some others. The lightning bolt was used on real 1930s BUF flags - the ones on this plane are cut out of white decal paper.

The Hawker Fury was probably the best pre-WWII fighter aircraft built. I'll be using this one purely as an interceptor, to keep the skies above Herefordshire clear of enemy planes. I already have an Italian Fiat CR32 fighter which is part of a squadron of Italian planes "on loan" from the Spanish Civil War that I hope to build for my collection and games.

I also started on my Mounted Vampiress for the painting competition. I'm going with gold armour, and so far it looks awful! But many of my minis do at this stage so we'll press on and see how it goes...

Just got back to China after an awesome Christmas with the lady back in the UK.

After bringing tonnes of things back that I'd ordered throughout the year and was given by the family for Christmas, I'm determined to get things going and finish up my first block of skeletons so I can get something fleshy on the go!

He's a bit mucky cos I hit the whole model with a black wash, even the skin. I think he needs a paler skin highlight and eyes to look a bit more human. How does the pale grey highlight work? It's not my usual style, but lots of people do it...

EDIT: I hope this is better

I've been working on warhammer stuff again as described in my new hobby log thread. I also got some Satyxis Bloodwitches and the UA for Christmas, so I'll be assembling and painting them at some point, and a friend has been nagging me to try Malifaux for ages, so I'll probably be picking up one of the Ressurectionist caster boxes pretty soon, maybe Yan Lo or Nicodem. I like Nicodem better as a caster, both in rules and model, but I like the supporting models that come with Yan Lo a lot more, aesthetically, and he's still reasonably cool, so... *shrug*.

@Shadespyre Really cool work on ships and planes. That's certainly different ;) Looking forward to your mounted vampiress, I remember seeing the models and being impressed with just them.

@Farmer7574 Well that answers my question I just asked on your plog :frown: This is what you get for anwswering the posts from bottom to top. Looking forward to that Wight King!

And I finally I got enough time to catch up with all the posts here! On the last days of november I got sucked into a BIG project at work and barely had time for anything... then I went back to Poland for christmas and now finally I have a fully free weekend to read through all the stuff people have posted :) I got a new mini as a present and took some others from home, so I have even more to do here.
And to keep on the topic - I got back to painting Nagash (I didn't make it in 2015, maybe 2016 will be more generous xD ) and I finished work on the golden freehand on his clothes - that was a chore! I'll try to post a picture this weekend.

Working on some Empire artillery right now. It's refreshing to paint something entirely different every now and then.

@Sessioni I checked out your plog on you did a good job on the artillery. Is Empire a new project?

@Shadespyre 22 vampires is pretty insane. My 'army' completely lacks any kind of vampire (painted) right now so I'll have to get cracking on that.

I've just spent the past two days on doing a small O&G mini for the 13th Conversion Competition over on Da Warpath and I'm now back to working on a bunch of zombies. Having fun converting the Mantic Zeds but they're pretty limited. Lots of arm chopping and green stuff required.

@Farmer7574 I would certainly be keen to see what you come up with for your first vampire.

@Shadespyre I too have an over abundance of characters and larger monsters in my army. Why? Because that's what I like to paint. Units are a little too laborious for me generally.

As for what I'm working on currently? Nothing. I will hop to it as soon as I know the topic for the next challenge though.
