Hi,

So I'm dead keen on Kings of War, mostly because of the modelling opportunities around diorama bases. While this base isn't going to be used for undead, it could very easily be.

What do you think? Here's a link to the tutorial I wrote up about it on my blog.

I'm going to use it for Nightstalkers, I'll post a picture when the models are done and attached also. I'd love some feedback or comments on it. It's my first attempt at resin casting.

@Leithel Top stuff all round. I think you've done a good job.

The red mushrooms add a nice spot colour among the dark green base and I think the details you've put in and around the water are great.

What's that glowing green part in the water in the bottom right?

Maybe down the line you can get a few river troll bits and have them slightly protruding out of the water line.

Well I'll be damned! Five minutes ago I was looking on a miniature and devising a swamp theme. "But how could I make a proper swamp?" - I asked myself and then left it to worry about it later. Next thing I looked on the forum and saw your thread xD Big thanks for the tutorial. It looks simple enough and very effective. I'll definitely come here later :)

Hey Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. Hope you find it useful @Borgnine . The main suggestion I have is to use a 2 part resin rather than a 1 part water effect because the water effects shrink and the resin doesn't.

The stuff in the water / resin @Farmer7574 is that gummy grown sea weed stuff they put on trees and pretend it's foliage, Lichen that's it! I thought it would look like green algae, which is does a little but it also buggered up the resin with a couple of bubbles that you can't really see it in the picture above.

Sure thing @ObliviJohn it's Envirotex Lite, the tutorial has the details but you can get it online all over the place. Thanks heaps for the feedback, I'm starting on my second one shortly.
