well, i went to conflict

played 3 games, lost 2 by massacres, won one. it was pretty fun, though i enjoyed last year more. according to several of the other players i came very close to winning the players choice award, but this empire player won it instead, so it doesnt matter (a dwarf player i talked to during the voting was convinced he should win. his army was half undercoated, about 1/4 half painted with the rest actually painted. it also had 4 bolt throwers and an organ gun

he didnt see the problem :lol

one odd note, was that i came 13th

lol

out of 18. not great, but i only got 6 points. the winner was a wood elf player who won every game by massacre. the other two were the dwarf player with all the siege weapons, and a beast of chaos army consisting mainly of one unit of bestigors, one beast herd, and 3 dragon ogres. i didnt get to play any of them, playing a different beasts army (got massacred), a brettonian army (massacred

) and an empire army (got massacred).
the brettonian army was stunning, fantastically painted. i couldnt believe it didnt win players choice (i voted for it). that was the only time my terror causing scout vampire got used to its full potential. the BoC army was mostly immune to psychology thanks to marks of slaanesh, and i forgot about them being skirmishers and lost the vampire in the second turn

the empire army had so much shooting i was afraid to move him out of cover. the only thing he ended up killing was the crew of a hellblaster volley gun (not bad i guess). however against the brets he sent almost every unit fleeing at some point in them game, one unit straight into a unit of summoned zombies at the start of the second turn  (we rapidly became convinced, after he failed almost every fear and terror test, that his army was made out of peasants masquerading as knights :lol

anyway, overrall it was pretty fun. i definitely am going to try and find the time to play a lot more games over the holidays
