The Eternal Court of the Carmine Rose

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Oh, of course I have those plans. Way too many. I made a list once, I gave up when I got to 20 separate projects. And many of those projects were "make a Wood Elf army" sized things.

To my amazement, I can find nothing online to suggest anyone else has ever removed the rider from a Dragon Prince steed before! And I'm starting to understand why... but it seems such an obvious model to make, whether for a High Elf army or for my army!

As the basic model will be to "count as" a unit filler for 4 Blood Knights, I hope to make a crew of two female vamps in the style of my Lady Knights. If I can make one "detachable" to be replaced by a character model later, that would be nice, but I don't know how I'd use that in a Warhammer game.

Making some progress

I've ordered some more bits for the other Vampiress - the legs are from the Phoenix Guard, which look suitably feminine! Next step is to do the plate barding on the horses, that's going to challenge my GS skills.

Making the base is getting ahead of myself, but while I'm working on my Garden of Morr and using all the same paints and techniques it makes sense. I used a whole pot of Earthshade on the Garden yesterday... next step is a couple of hours with a large drybrush, not looking forward to that!

Very interesting work you have going on here! Looking forward to see more of that chariot! Few years ago I did a High Elf Caledor army and made a Chariot pulled by two Dragon Prince mounts so believe me when I tell that I understand what you've been throu :D
All in all this is one of the best armies I've seen on the forum, painting and themed wise. Always a pleasure to browse!

And now we have this...

The two ladies are coming out a bit broader shouldered than is ideal, but it was so fiddly assembling the poses (the arms are each cut into 3 or 4 pieces) that I don't want to risk dismantling them to narrow the torsos (which I remembered too late I did on the Knights).

Some minor sculpting to tidy up, then I shall prime everything and see where all the remaining rough spots are! Feeling like this project is well on target now

My Garden of Morr is basically done, myabe a few touch ups to complete...

Bottom pic is the garden assembled as in the photo on the box, top pic shows the individual pieces complete with magnetic bases so they can be used as infantry unit fillers - plus a couple more Reaper sarcophagi for the same purpose. I'm not sure how well the big wall / fence sections would work in a unit, but these pieces could add around 100 infantry to my army if needs be!!!

Cheers guys.

The chariot is coming along really well now - pretty much just detail left to paint now, plus the skin tones on the vamp knights, and then assembling it all on the base. Shouldn't be too long now...

I had a plan B, remember? Well, here's some recent shopping I did...

Got lucky with the dragon on ebay, got impatient with finding the third war beast cheaply and ordered one direct from Italy ( which with P&P and tax and stuff was rather pricey, but it's complete and unbroken and in my hands right now, which is nice!)

Ouch, glad I still have mine. I think they were orig. about $15.00 or so new if I remember right. Haha, I forgot the dragon came with a rider, mine never made it on. There's a pretty nice chariot with that set also.
