It's been a long looonnnng time since we ran a Golden Bat competition, and I think now's the time resurrect this tradition!

If you've not seen them before you see the previous competitions and winners here! Whilst I need to see how many people are interested you can assume:

• Entries to be completed and posted by PM to Disciple of Nagash by end of Tues 28th October 2025 GMT. Please avoid posting your entry in painting logs if possible to so we can keep voting anonymous
  • You can have upto 3 pictures, but at least one must show your complete entry with all models if there are more than one model in the submission (see below for allowed entries) and bases. The other two can then show whatever you prefer, e.g. focusing on certain details models, etc. You cannot bypass this limit by trying to put smaller pictures in pictures!
• Any WHFB, TOW or AOS undead models can be entered which can be one of the following:
  • 1 character
  • 1 character on a mount of any kind
  • 1 monster sized creature / Chariot / Warmachine (including crew)
  • 1 spell model
  • Standard infantry, cavalry, flyer or beast sized models: Upto 5, which may include a command group
  • Monstrous infantry, cavalry, flyer or beastsized models: Upto 3, which may include a command group
  • Swarms; Upto 3
• As we're quite small this year, we will have one mixed category
• There will be at least* the following awards:
  • 1st Place: Gold medal and £40 prize vouchers by a miniature company of your choice (that does) prize vouchers
  • 2nd Place: Silver medal
  • 3rd Place: Bronze medal
  • Mod's Choice: Medal plus £20 prize voucher by a miniature company of your choice (that does) prize vouchers
  • If we get more entries / interest, further awards etc may be introduced
• You can enter any models not previously entered in a Golden Bat competition as it's been a while, so yes you can enter something painted a couple of years ago
• Entry requirement: Must be a registered CN member and at least made an intro

* This is based on the current indicated number of entries, if a lot of people drop out then we reserve the right to review the awards

I have a lot of converted models but none painted

Do others have conversions they would want to enter? We would need pictures of the conversion before painting but if there are enough other entrants I'm happy to open a second category?

Yeah, the one I have in mind is an old (lightly) converted blood bowl model so I hope that'll work.

Edit: Oh wait, you probably meant for a dedicated conversion competition? In that case don't mind me.

I do have one conversion which I'm quite happy with that I would enter but it's already done without any WIP pictures. If it'd be enough I could make a reference image pointing out where all bits are from but otherwise I'll be happy to just focus on the main category.

Converting is my primary interest in the hobby so naturally I would be all up for it. Would have to be a finished conversion but could find WIP's for something at least.

As long as the we're seeing a clearly converted model and you can describe/highlight the converted parts that would be good with me

We'll have to see how many people we enter in that category to figure out the awards on offer but happy to give it a go, I'll update the first post

thorash - I think you've made an intro elsewhere so don't worry about that.

To send me the submission just send me it via a message (click on my name, send me a message), you should be able to attach 3 pictures. Just remember not to include any watermarks etc on them as the idea is that I will post them all in the thread so voting is fair and impartial

My entry is submitted. This has been the 7th mini I ever painted. I did a little bit of car model building/painting with my dad when I was a kid, but that's about it.

I've approved your intro post Amarell we had a problem with spam before so I've turned on some rather vigorous spam controls and they can sometimes be a bit strict! If you're still have problems via PM you can email me them at carpenoctem@vampirecounts.net.

Your no longer subject to spam content checks by the system after 5 posts, so a few more and it should be fine

Notice for all Golden Bat entrants: I've had a couple of messages and apologies, one thing I forgot to state is that it is one entry per member per category. So you can make one entry for painting, one entry for conversion (if you have the appropriate pictures).

Once all the entries are in we open up a voting thread and it's done by votes for the main 1/2/3 places. Some of the others are decide by myself, mods etc
