Very nice Spirit hosts SethDrallitoc!
I'll have to steal the idea, do you think the look would be as effective if the model was given a grey undercoat before
being given the white as it would allow a transition of dark green to light green after using the wash?

Yes. Models included. King of the dead, Grima Wormtongue, Denathor, Galadriel, one mounted and 9 standard army of the dead miniatures.

Here are some pictures of the force so far... Sadly these are already old and it doesn't show the whole force... But I promise I will do this soon.

That's some army you have!.. must feel great to se the progress from the first pics to ure last ones ;)

I love your spirithosts!.. the lotr minis fits quite good into that unit, and they looks ace when painted. GJ!

Now that's an inspiring sight :D
I love the spirit hosts as well, and the synergy of the skeleton units. The shields really make them look great and unique.

And wow, you actually field skeleton units 7 wide ;)

I doubt it will, as its a minor part of the picture. So long as thats not what it's focused on, you'll be fine.
How goes the work on the legion as of now then? I'd really like to see those bats painted soon, they look great as it is.

Bats are base-coated. experimenting with the wash and highlights. My main mission of late has been the construction of my carry case. The army doesn't fit in my large GW case anymore. So I have had to come up with something different. I have set the whole thing up so that units (which are all magnetized to their movement trays) are connected with magnets to the case.

So I had to do a rush job to build the new movement trays for the rest of my army before I could finish the case. I just got back from upstate New York. Had to go up there for a wedding. Should be back to working on stuff tonight. I will see what I can do about getting progress pictures.

Those sprit hosts are very awesome! Yo sure do have some foresite! They look - to be frank - pretty awful until you apply that wash. So cool! High 5!

Yeah I knew the second that I saw the sample that my Games Workshop was sent that it could be done. They recieved the washes over white base and I enquired what it would do over other colours.

It creates an even coat of colour over the whole area. It really evens up mixed colours and creates a more subtle blend.

Wraiths are done and pictured. Vargulf is in the mail along with components to finish my vampire lord and my black knights.

But this weekend saw a good news bad news situation arrise

the good news:

I found the rider of the dead mini I wanted!

and on the downside:

I already made the movement tray for the 5 spirit host bases I have and was missing a foot soldier to base alongside the new rider.

So I went to work scouring my bits box. I found so many possibilities for a foot mounted warrior that I actually considered building a second unit of 5 spirit hosts.... Then thought better of it.

So I did some minor conversions to a Prince Imrahil mini and went through the pains of extending the movement tray I already had rather than build a whole new one.

Hmm... now you only miss a tower on each flank to make a chess rank... OMG I'm so funny .
But seriously... nice models.

Seriously thats what I wanted.

I was thinking a bolt thrower or standard bearer on each end. But maybe I will just make little towers. Not for use in warhammer. I have 8 large bases of zombies that I can use as pawns.

Computer problems have kept me away for a while. I am currently at a friends house where those not so early risers will likely remain asleep till noon.

I on the other hand get bored of sleep once the sun is up. So I thought I would take advantage of my friends working computer to upload all the pictures from my camera.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures to show you of all the wonders I have been working on.

I now have 2 bat swarms built and ready for painting and I have added 3 more models to my Black knight unit. My Spirit court is for the second time finished, and planning has begun in my head for my army add on. The black lions of St. Vidgeous.

I do however have some Work in Progress snap shots of something I am very excited about.

The corpse carts as they stand really don't fit the tone of my army. So I am building my own:

I used lolly sticks, coffee stirrers, chopsticks, a tomb king horseman and a zombie scyth. Work will continue on this as soon as I have 2 empty magic tape spools to cut up for wheels.
