Haven't done any work on her since last update, just hoping that the pictures will help you help me with continuing xD
Sadly the pictures are so good that I can see all the mistakes I made, and that the highlights should have been done smoother.
And the her shoulder plate isn't that brown in real life, only thing that didn't came out good on the pictures.

They last one is mostly for showing her size (She is tall!).

What do you think?

Much better pics,I still think her midsection needs to be more blue.I'd highlight her hair with strands of a lighter brown,I can see that you did some, but I think she could use a little more.
As far as the small marks on her face...I'd probably leave them(for character)..that photo is punishingly close-up.

I'm liking the contrasts you have shown on here but like U_M said, let's see some washes to tie the different steps in together. Great work!

I am loving how you have done all the blues. I am not normally a fan of blues for the undead, but you have pulled them off remarkably well. Keep up the great work.

Hi again

Sorry for the lack of updates but now I got one for you.

My 500pts army is finished, a week late though, had to play the first games with a partially unpainted army.

First of the full army so far
Vampirecounts028.jpg

Then some close ups of the zombies, I just love zombies you can put so much character into these fellows.

The parchment in the top of the banner needs some writing. Do you guys any ideas of what to write?

Then a picture of the skeletons command group
Vampirecounts014.jpg

The banner needs some freehand design, I'm thinking of roses.

And finally two of Countess Ludmila von Carstein herself, all finished now ^^

Oh, and if you wonder about all those little dots on her dress, it's dust. I noticed it after the pictures where taken, it is brushed away now.

Sorry for the picture heavy posts (and possibly to large pictures), but that camera can produce some amazing thing, I just had to show you.

As always: C&C is very welcome

Sadly I feel the banner is great but lacks alot due to being so plain. Did you have plans to put anything on it?

I love your vampiress I too get alot of dust in my photo's at times I ussually use a soft brush or canned air before most photos to help eliminate this. I am loving your zombie unit filler's they are just awsome.

I was planning to do something with roses on the banner, probably as rose in front of a big moon.

I'm glad you liked her.
Thanks for the dusting tip, I will try to remember it for next time.

They were very fun to make, that zombie kit is just amazing. Only your own imaginations puts limits, and combined with the empire militia kit and a healthy dose of bits from the bitz box they become even better. xD

Lovely work. Is it just me or are the transitions smoother on the skin? I've also noticed the subtle blue on the red. Cracking job! You should be immensely proud, she looks worthy of centre stage!

Well done man!

u_m

Thanks!

About her skin, I think I washed it again with thinned down Azumren Blue, that the only reason I can think of of why it would be smoother now.

I'm very proud of her, she turned out better than I believed she would. Must be the basing, I think that you can't really judge a model before the basing is done, but I often forget this while working on them.

Hello again!

Thanks for a the comments and feedback, it has really inspired me to do some work on the army. Since last time I've finished painting all the 50+ skeletons and assembled 34 ghouls, 3 spirit hosts, two vampires, one necro and the start of a Mordheim waraband. I even managed to paint the spirit host (no pics of them though :().

Anyways, on to the pictures

Here is the second skeleton unit

And here they are from the back, notice the old fence/wall
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_IMG_5375.webp

Both skeleton units smashed together to form one big, 40 man strong, horde unit xD

Two close ups of the standard

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_IMG_5389.webp

And some extra skeletons for IoN purpose
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_IMG_5383.webp

The ghouls (crappy picture I know, will take better ones when they are pained)
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_IMG_5363.webp

And finally the characters (from left to right: Necro, Heavens Vampire (anyone who knows what model it is?), Mordheim dreg, and a caster vampire)

Please comment :)

I absolutely love that banner. You have beautiful tasteful use of color. The tarnish seems a tad too bluish to me,but I only say that to provide some criticism....which you don't much seem to need ;)

Thank you!
I spent a lot of time painting that banner. A lot more than necessary since I misspelled "Carstein" the first time  (wtf is "Carsein"!) and had to repaint the scroll. I very happy with the result and glad it's over (just one skeleton banner left, need ideas though...).
I see you point about the tarnish, but I feel that I've painted to much already to do anything about it and the way it's painted is just so simple (just a wash with Hawk Turquoise followed by one mixed with bleached bone).

Vladimir the bloody said:
Did you skulp the Hammer of Sigmar on that grave stone?

No, the hammer is from the empire Flagellants (some sort of chain decoration, I've used the twin-tailed comet too). I removed half of the hammer with a file and glued it to a gravestone made from pink Styrofoam.
