Thirteen Dancing Skeletons - Bearded Troll Lady / Gobbo Heroes / Bell Ringer

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Thanks a lot guys. He's 98% finished, only the bow tie is still missing some more detail. I'm pretty happy how he turned out in the end, from time to time it's very cool to try stuff like this. And when I'm done with the last self made present this year -a troll-skull tankard- I'll be so badass back to painting undead stuff ;)

Thanks Mr. Farmer :) Decided to change the colour of the "note sheet", bloody red seemed an inch too cheap :D
It's coming more and more to it's final form, some details still lack, like the organist's hands, text in the book, the ghostly worms, and some other, but I'm back with fun at painting, and so this will be done in the next days.

Inspiration help (couldn't even resist one second when I saw it - I mean a ultra-cool-skull-design-box for a tasty whisky?? Who am I to hesitate throwing my money at the desk!)

And the ME

Hope you like it :ghost:

Some more detail. And I think I messed up the light effect from the candles, have to repaint that and buy a yellow glaze to try it again -_-

Magnet spots for rearranging the pianist, in case of the (not sure about the correct english term) blasphemic scrolls upgrade

Like that

I hope to finish the ghosts this week, and repair the candle shimmer. When that is done, I need to do either an asb vamp or an army standart that will be placed on the front magnet

That is looks so damn creepy! Nice job!

As for the OSL effect from the candles, you might want to use a slightly warmer yellow, hinting towards orange in the outskirts, drawing more close to pure yellow near the light source. In any case, a yellow glaze if probably a good idea as you say.

The whole thing is coming along really well - looking forward to seeing this one finished!

As for the lighting from the candles, it looks a bit too light & heavy and lacks a soft transition going away from the source. I'm new to OSL but (over the standard colours) maybe try a very thinned down glaze of red or dark orange, then repeat it closer and closer to the flames to build up the intensity of light.

Added patina, and I really like the result! The osl is much netter now. Not quite perfect, but much better than before. I'll try to add some more depth to the osl, but I'm mostly done with any more painting effort for the me :| base, Magnet spaceholder, and ghosts. That's it. I wanna finish my vc this year xD

Thanks for the tips guys. I never tried osl before, but it got me spontaneously on the me, and I really like the atmosphere it creates. But I will try to improve it on other minis ;)

It seems like you've been busy! The ME is coming up great! That spirit horde of yours really looks like a shimmering stream of ghosts - and that skull on the back is really menacing ;)

The carriage itself is also well done ;) The patina addition is really nice, as are the runes on the dude's back. OSL could use some softening, but if you want to save some effort, that's also good  More attention to more undead stuff, I hope ;)

@Borgnine Thanks mate! I really wanted to achieve this stream look, so the ME for itself got more of a boat..Not quite sure where I've seen a scratch boat ME, but it looked great. And that was part of my inspiration and motivation to build mine. So, thank you very much for spotting ;)

I have some stuff left, Vargheists, TG, some chars...and then I will finally unbox either the Mortarch or the Blood Angels Dreadnought. Weeeehaaaaw!

@Theerteen Beautifully done mate, the final miniature is awesome. All that hard work has finally paid off.

I really like the second shot you've posted here in particular - looking at the positioning of the necromancer's arms while he's reciting some evil incantation and seeing the multiple streams of spirits emerging from the organ behind him is really dynamic.

Have fun slaughtering those elves :)

@Farmer7574 Thanks a lot man, it makes me very happy that you like the whole thing! Yeah, the pose of the pianist/necro/whatever he is :D was a lucky strike, on the first thought he was intended for playing the organ only. But exactly like you described, his pose is unleashing some deep badass summonings to the line of his foes. That's a cool bonus to the ME. I will give feedback how the match has turned out ;)
