Spent hundreds of hours on total war games, outside of rome 2 every other game has had an acceptable number of bugs, certainly no worse than a bethesda/ubisoft/EA etc. Games are so large now that bugs are kind of a given, when they are crippling like Rome 2 is when you have a problem, most bugs get patched or modded out. I certainly haven't seen any overly obnoxious DLC from them, other companies are really on that bandwagon, CA need to reign it in a bit after Rome 2, but I have a lot more optimism after the success of Atilla.

To be fair CA have always been a bug-fest but it's never bothered me except with ROME 2 which I felt was a total write off from day 1. CA are good with their patches.

They've got bad with their DLCs though, the faction packs with Attila is a total joke, just a disgusting money grab.

That's fair.

I disagree but that's what opinions are for.

I also disagree with the general idea of these sort of DLCs, things that could easily have been released with the game but where obviously held back to tear some more cash from the fans.

Found this online:

We've always loved the Warhammer universe, and couldn't wait to approach it with the same colossal scale and authenticity that has characterised our titles for the last 15 years," said Total War: WARHAMMER Project Lead, Ian Roxburgh. "We're bringing it to life in a way that nobody's attempted before."

Factsheet:

It is an age of endless conquest, thousands of warriors clash in titanic battles as entire races wage war on one another, each led by a formidable hero seeking dominion over the world.

All at your command.

The valiant Karl Franz marshals the men of the Empire, seeking to unite the fractured elector counts under a banner of strength against their common enemies.

Hungry for the vicious brutality of combat, the Greenskins flock to the tribe of Grimgor Ironhide; Orcs and Goblins alike filled with an insatiable thirst for carnage.

High King Thorgrim orders the stoic Dwarfs forth from their mountain strongholds, marching to vengefully right the grave injustices dealt to them over the millennia.

Yet the motives of the Vampire Counts under Mannfred von Carstien are shrouded in murderous secrecy, his armies raised from the rotting ranks of the dead.

And while the Old World becomes torn by betrayal, war and the unleashing of unfathomable power, a greater threat still whispers in the winds from the north. The fabric of reality itself begins to rend and buckle…

There are 5 playable races/faction.
This is the first game of a serie of 3 Total War: Warhammer.
Here are all the information with the main character of each race:
"TOTAL WAR: WARHAMMER ANNOUNCED

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON - April 23, 2015 - SEGA(R) of America, Inc. and SEGA(R) Europe, Ltd. today announced a new title from UK videogame studio Creative Assembly(TM); the first in partnership with Games Workshop(R), creators of the well-known Warhammer(R) Fantasy Battle tabletop wargame and accompanying range of miniatures.
Total War(TM): WARHAMMER(R) for PC, Mac and SteamOS, coming soon.

Now in its 15th year, the award-winning Total War(TM) continues to offer a unique combination of huge-scale real-time battles and an addictive turn-based campaign game of statecraft, politics and empire building.
Total War: WARHAMMER will take the series to a realm of grand high fantasy for the very first time in its history. Our rules have changed, and with change comes war on a scale as yet unimagined.
The limitlessly deep and rich universe of Warhammer heralds a new era for Total War. Gigantic monsters, flying creatures, legendary heroes and storms of magical power take their place on the battlefield, alongside thousands of warriors clashing in real-time tactical battles.

In the turn-based campaign game, players will find the Old World an unforgiving and treacherous place, filled with endless war and cunning alliances alike. Whichever race you choose to play as and however you seek conquest, you will be faced with a conflict that threatens to tear the very fabric of reality asunder.

The first in an epic trilogy of titles, Total War: WARHAMMER will deliver hundreds of hours of absorbing gameplay. It will combine with two further standalone instalments and additional content packs to create the single largest Total War experience ever.

Yeah my wife will have to remove my hanging body from the rafters if yet another game fails to deliver. The last decade has been abysmal.

I'm hoping for some very interesting civilisation mechanics. The Empire will be the most like Medieval Total War, and Dwarves potentially similar in structure, but the way Orcs and Goblins would run their armies and towns would be very different. Undead most different of all. I would hope for some mechanics like the following... if you raze a city and slaughter everyone in it, rather than a penalty, you get bonus troops for your armies. Undead don't have to worry about food (except nearby living meals...) or money, they would need magic more to maintain them etc. I can't imagine undead would have the option to build cities... they might develop them along vampiric lines I guess? Using the native population as blood chattel. Can't wait to kick some ass with Mannfred.

They'll have to have some kind of town system for undead, even if like you say its chattel, ruled by fear and not happiness or something.

COMING SOON... I've heard this year. I've heard August. Many of the big TW releases have been July 21st. But that's all guesswork and pure conjecture.

Sooo excited for a potentially really good WHF game! Was also happy to have undead from the start rather than having to hope they get added.

Leaks from a French store on Bell of Lost Souls highly imply Fantasy 9th is released on June 9th.

I would imagine Warhammer Total War will be released around a very similar time to maximize exposure.

After playing Rome 2 I still have to enter this game with scepticism :S Does look very pretty with the scripted battle though and still hyped to hell for it.
