Can't wait for the new nurgle stuff for the next end times release, the new charater Gutrot Spume and Putrid blight kings unit look very interesting though I've only seen some blurry pics but the conversion possibilities will be endless with some shiny new Nurgle stuff oh what a brillant time to be a devotee of the Plague godxD

Also the latest page on GW's what's new today pretty much confirms that Nurgle will be getting the spotlight

"The Lord of the Undead seeks to claim this world for his own. He will drain the life from it, leaving it barren and silent. This cannot happen. The world needs life, for in life there is corruption and decay; endless, beautiful rot, pestilence and plague."

A good mate sent me some pics He found on a site which has now removed them, I suppose I can't post them here?

Edit
Also apparently Chaos are meant to be getting the Scions of chaos which are the chaos equivalent of the Mortarchs, Gutrot Spume (seriously what a stupid name) may be one of them as he looks big enough

Every source so far would indicate that they are just infantry, maybe a misprint. I think making them monstrous would make them worthwhile which they aren't as it stands. I don't think WoC need more warriors, even if they are slightly better than regular Nurgle Warriors. If they are monstrous though the book could be the 'new' Ogres with Troll core, Nurgley specials (even including Ogres!) and Skull Crushers to boot.

They are still significantly smaller than Ogres/Vargheists/etc/etc, so that would further support them just being fat infantry on 40mm bases.

They look absolutely ridiculously strong. For 20 slaves, special choice they seems like a bargain.. And they have chaos armor, and can choose at the start of a combat if they want to be an anvil, hammer, or infantry killer..

yes, remember though that they only get 1 supporting attack and are on a 40mm base which means they will receive more attacks against them than normal infantry

so 4/5 wide = horde of 20mm infantry that can all hit back

and against other models with 40mm bases, in most cases they will have to suffer from enemy stomp attacks because they are just fat infantry :/ so in either situation they suffer.

That is very true but if they were MI they would be insanely strong for the price.. The fact that we have no clue how 9th will tackle formations counts for something aswell.. But their stats are very good..
They wont be auto include but a very cool addition to the forces..
The fact they can swap gear depending on the situation is very valuable. And as WoC you can have festus join them for 5++ regen :)

Can we also take a moment to talk about how awesome they look! The new pics (check BoLs, Faeit, site of preference) make them look really good and they appear to have a bunch of options on the sprue too which is great.

They do look awesome, and if it weren't for my complete devotion to the blissful agony of undeath, I would be tempted to renew my vows to grandfather Nurgle.

I think the blight kings are a solid release tbh, they look very good and they don't seem to be too overpowered. Grave guard would be a good counter to them with their killing blow.

And the special character seems good for his points. Yes he only has a 4+ AS. But he hits like a ton of bricks, and his high WS and MoN should help with the survivability.

GW seem to be doing a good job with the end times so far. I'd become abit fed up of their pricing and general disregard for their customers. But everything so far has been fairly priced IMHO and all the new fluff is a really positive thing. I hope this heralds a change for the better for GW.

If you do the math, 5 blight knights wreck most (if not all) other infantry point for point. Even grave guard or executioners (some of the best infantry with killing blow). Their high initiative, high base str and large volume of attacks leads to an impressive amount of damage that most other infantry cannot absorb.

The blightking musician is freaking SWEET with the bell on his back. He's my zombie musician from now on.
