I just finished to read Sigmar's Blood and I realized this was the consequence, ain't it?
However i dunno how much are gonna cost the nechrarc, but I really don't like the Juggernaut sculpt. I hate the price of Nagash but at least size and sculpt are an hard on

Just saw this at druchii.net

There's some disturbing news over the direction gw management
are taking the fantasy universe to;

Chaos decimate the Empire
Nagash and co decimate Brettonia
Ulthuan sinks
there will be less army books than currently ( no idea if this means
imalgimation armies )
appreciate I do not post very often so will doubtless recieve a whole
load of flame for this post BUT given i literally just got told it,
thought some people here would appreciate me sharing..
Personally I hope to god this is all incorrect

That is disturbing as hell. looks like they're taking it to mordheim in the wider world thing.... which would piss off all those that have massive armies.

This doesn't surprise me. I've been saying for a while that GW seem to want to reduce differences between 40K and Fantasy to make each accessible to new players, which is sensible from a business standpoint, but (like many, I expect) I'd much rather they keep them distinct. And if they want a fantasy skirmish game, bring back support for Mordheim.

Heard this a while back, along with round bases coming. Which I mentioned somewhere but it would be atrocious, after everyone has maxed out their armies for the end times

The whole appeal of WHFB is based off of regiments and companies lined up and arrayed for battle... not skirmishing. Balls to that. Bring back Mordheim yeah sure absolutely.

Last time I heard this particular rumour, it was in the form of 9th edition. With regular fantasy and a skirmish based game both in the same rule book.
The skirmish game, to help newer players get into the game without having to shell out loads on a new army.

Now that would be very cool!!

Having huge armies sets warhammer apart from the other games, I really can't see them changing this. Including a skirmish option into the next edition makes more sense

I could see a potential in a skirmish starter type game like that. I just have serious doubts that whfb as we know it will be gone. More likely that lotr/hobbit gets dropped first if you ask me.

Mordhiem was sort of a gateway game in that sense. if this is true, i can see them bringing it back in a form.

Weren't there rules for lower point games of Warhammer skirmish in the 6th edition BRB? Makes more sense to include something like that than alienate most players, limit potential long-term sales, etc. by changing the game so drastically -- especially after amping up the epicness.

I don't think we should take that rumor seriously. Seems like a gag.

Unless they've rewritten the lore again, Vlad, Mannfred, and Neferata were not Dark Lords of Nagash, though I suppose it's possible they've been promoted.

In Warhammer Armies: Undead, it says, "Mightiest of the Wraiths are the Dark Lords of Nagash, those five fell beings who in ancient times were the foremost of his captains and apprentices and the most feared hunters of his enemies. They survived his fall and still walk the world bringing despair to the living."

Later it describes Krell and Arkhan as Dark Lords of Nagash, with Arkhan being the first of them, despite neither of them being wraiths. Maybe the book was edited poorly. Maybe there are nine Dark Lords, and five of them are Wraiths.

I get the impression that the "Dark Lords of Nagash" are the most powerful of his servants at any given time, with their number varying.

Every other reference I've been able to find in the old army books gives their number as nine, when a number is given. Arkhan is always described as the first, and they're always his most trusted captains and disciples, presumably from the time from the Great Ritual until Nagash lost his fight with Sigmar.

The current Tomb Kings book says, "Arkhan was reborn as the Liche King - the first of Nagash's nine Dark Lords. These fell beings were the foremost of Nagash's captains, and they brought despair and destruction to his foes."
