I am constantly changing my mind about blood lines. Overall though i think it has to be the Von Carstiens. I like the idea of a brooding dark and powerful being shrouded in shadow with a mysterious agenda.

Blood dragon, i love the idea of a vampire who has devoted millenia to honing his matrial skills and is a master at them all. The idea that he could just turn his nose up at any mortal foe out of sheer arrogance and call them "unworthy" and he is bound by a macabre code of honour, in a grim parody of human knightly orders. It's such a colourful, fluffy background

Here here! xD

I would certainly agree. Funny, your post is similar to the mannerisms of a friend of mine, also called Sam. He got me into VC, actually, but he's unfortunately allowed his warhammer to fall into disarray... last I knew, anyway. It'd be awesome if you were the same Sam, but I doubt it.

Blood dragon for me also, for all the same reasons.
Also I just like the idea of a more armoured vc army marching to war instead of shambling.
The thought of a lone knight sitting on a bridge,
"None shall pass"
"Its only a flesh wound"
So on and so forth.

I always loved Von Carstein as they were sort of the classic vampire. My favorite was probably the Lahmian bloodline though. I loved the background and Egyptian style imagery associated with them. They were also more of a challenge to play than some of the other bloodlines.

I'd have to vote Necromancers... but I didn't think they are a bloodline as such? Aren't Necromancers merely tools used by vampires to amass zombies and such? Anyway, considering their intellectual high ground I favour the Necromancers. I can identify with them in that their crumbling bodies are merely vehicles for their hyper-active brains :zombie:
I'm joking... slightly.

I chose Lahmians for their imagery, background and models. I was always a fan of Egypt and I made my army look like it came from Nehekhara. The idea of a matriarchal vampire bloodline is an appealing one to me. The fact that they were the first to be created is also something I like.

I'm leaning towards necrarchs now, having just started painting the zombies that pull my corpse cart. They just scream "Servants of a mad necromatic genius" Can't wait to convert up my next box of zombies and to get a nice big flesh golem!
Still have a love of the strigoi background and tragedy and the style of the Carsteins.

Von Carstein. Although my current lord model choice is the old Nefera Queen of the Vampires model, but I have styled it as a von carstein vampire baroness who has looted a khemerian tomb and plundered it's contents...

BLOOD DRAGON

Vampires are the fastest and strongest. They should not be reduced to creeping about seducing women or manipulating politics or experimenting on zombies or hiding in a cave or crypt. They should be fastening on red armor and picking up two swords and leading the undead to victory! The mightiest warrior cannot stand against an army led by Blood Dragons.
For shame to the other bloodlines. Perhaps my General will allow you a small place in his army.

I voted Von Carstein. They are the original archetype in Warhammer, and their characters are pretty cool (except for Konrad).

My own Vampire Lord (for a sorcerous pact with my Empire) will be a Carstein vampire using the Aenur Sword of Twilight model

Not converted of course (too rare for that), just painted in a moody fashion.

For a mix of melee and magic (he was an Elf once).

Vampire Lord
+1 magic level
Forbidden Lore
Dark Acolyte
Infinite Hatred (maybe he was a Dark Elf)

Blood Drinker
Cadaverous Cuirass
Talisman of Preservation

For a whopping 445 points.
Not used to spending so much on a character in an Empire army, but I guess it's pretty typical for a Vampire Count army.

I'm guessing that I should probably take the vampire lore with him, given that Sylvania Pacts are limited to one Vampire and one Necromancer. Also one special character, but I don't know if that counts to your allotment of vampires.

Looks like I voted Necrarch a while back, but I'll have to throw in an honorable mention to the Blood dragons. Simply because they're the embodiment of martial perfection and completely bad***. :)

I have to give my vote to Lahmia. The thought of the ravenous beguiling beauties terrorizing the field brings a smile to my face!

I love magic casting so much, but I don't like the current necrach-wrinklyness. Therefore I vote VC, Ive always loved the Von Carstein models and look (hence my username, the most magiccy Von Carstein. *sigh of happiness*

...

*drains another victim*

...

...

*kills entire town's populace with his PC, drains blood*

Ah good ol' von carsteins

Necromancer!!!Yes Necromancers should rule the undead and vampires are to be slaves and thralls, powerful as vampires might be they must subdue to the will of their TRUE masters.

Necromancer+Wight King all the way!!!

second favorite:
Blood Dragons, like the idea of Blood Knights, and mostly it has something to do with the cover picture on the old 6th edition armybook,i love the idea of a vampire in fullplate armor riding into battle thinking its some kind of warrior when truly it is a monster... a parody of the medieval knight.

Anyway, sadly those kinda Blood dragon type vampires end up having their heads cut off by Kate Beckinsale in movies:D

Von Carstein. Mainly due to the fact that I've always been a fan of the classic vampire archetype and I like the special characters and story of the bloodline.

Von carsteins...because This is MY land...These are my people and they will all serve in life or in death
