So today my dad was invited to some corporate entertainment, consisting of drinks and nibbles followed by a private screening of Skyfall. Which is an awesome film. There was a vague suggestion to wear James Bond-themed clothes, so I broke out the dinner jacket and bow tie. Needless to say, I was the only one who'd made a discernible effort...

Also picture is the book about filming Skyfall which we were given free. Other free stuff included wine, orange juice, popcorn, nibbles, bottled water...

I am totally getting a proper job now.

35 seconds in, 9th picture. Also, the South Heighton bonfire it mentions( bottom right) is the one I run, but there isn't a picture of me! the young barbarian on his own is my youngest son.

So I just got back from Poland/Germany where I was having a Holocaust trip (mostly, we also looked at some stuff like the Warsaw Uprising etc.) Obviously, when I was in Berlin I bought some souvenirs

The ushanka is definitely a fake/reproduction but who cares, it's good as a hat too. The helmet is definitely real, but we're not sure about the year (the seller claimed 1945, since as we all know when the Russians entered Berlin the first thing they did was sell all their helmets to street vendors). The mask at first we thought was fake, but then we looked at just how rusty it was. Also, the filter is dated 1978 (I think: might have misread it)

Incidentally, I'm still wearing both mask and helmet as I post, just for the novelty of it.
