So, what's everyone working on?

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
I thought about it, but I'd built a nice thick angle-edged base just like a plastic chariot base, and extending it will look odd. The other mammoth and the rhino are on flat MDF bases, so I want to make a new one to match. Good news is it came off the chariot base okay, and now I have a spare chariot base ready to go, if I think of another chariot sized project to do...

Me, I got the Total War: Warhammer on the release day. Spurred by the Vampire Counts campaign, I went and finally got myself the big baddie, Nagash, and one of the new "Get Started" -kits with a Mortarch in it. Still need to get two more of those so I'll have all three Mortarchs :P

But I also started the Empire campaign, so now I've also got my huge Empire army on the work table... Hopefully I'll be able to take some good pics on Sunday of the work to be done and then get cracking :D

Reactions: Dragonet
I know the one, it's a classic job. Mine has no rider, and not even wing-membranes to allow contrast. I could probably add a few vertical features to the base for more interest, I initially didn't want to distract from the dragon's outline though. Perhaps I should have used a bigger base - it's on a chariot base, which is practical, but I could have gone much bigger. Maybe a rider would be the best bet after all... Meantime, I think I finished the second War Mammoth, and I've assembled and based my Heresy Miniatures werewolf.

@Borgnine It's not a dislike but I find it can be a little tedious at times if that's what mostly covers the mini (savage orcs' skin, skeleton warriors' bones, etc.). Grave guard, black knights and night goblins (these guys are half the size) are alright, they have a nice balance of different areas to paint :)

@Farmer7574 Oh yea very big haul, and i got a couple more months on them for sure.

Although I have taken a week almost off and just did some base coats, needed some time to be lazy ^^ And I'm not keeping up to date with people's blogs! Got much to check out!

Got a few more characters to paint - and there are even more after this!

That horseman looks awesome! Never seen that model.

I'm over here assembling bits and bobs for my Dwarf/Chaos Dwarf army. 8 sets of 3 artillery crews, because Hella big gunline obvs, all in the past two days. Cork basing it up this evening.

@Farmer7574 At the risk of having /another/ plog that doesn't have any paint updates in yet, I've held back on making one for my Dwarf/Chaos Dwarf army. A few quick pics of the Ash Host couldn't hurt, though. As you wish!

That's almost everything I've got so far. The idea is to be able to field 2 armies for the price of 1, so (almost) everything can pull double duty as a Dwarf or Chaos Dwarf unit.

It's a mix of Mantic, GW, and mostly Titan Forge models. The whole army's bought and paid for, just haven't built a few units here and there, and some others (looking at you Steam Tank --> Iron Daemon) still need conversion work. My favorite unit in the whole army is the Black Orcs as Hammerers/GW Infernal Guard. I love the old Black Orc origin story in the slave mines of the Chaos Dwarves.

@Adam_Barrow Impressive collection you've got. I love the giant, and the use of a mix of different armies' minis is gonna look cool united in an identical colour scheme. I'm wandering how your Steam Tank/Iron Demon conversion is gonna turn out :)

I like your hobgoblin khans too - I see you've used the Fenrisian Wolves for them. Did you use standard goblin wolf rider legs for them? How well did they fit?

@Farmer7574 Thanks! It's been a slow collecting process, but they're all in one place at least. The Khans are Fenrisian Wolves, Stormvermin bods, Goblin heads, and wolf cloaks from some Empire unit. I'm still going back and forth on color scheme. They're called the Ash Host, so grey is gunna be prevalent of course--in fact, I think I want grey on too much. I want the armor grey, I want them very pale skinned so purple up to grey and white, and they're gunna be standing on gravel bases. I'm gunna have to figure out how to break up all that monochrome.
