Very cool. I like the theme and the armour effect with all the washes a lot. I do think they need something to set them off though and provide some contrast - I'm not sure on the purple as it looks too monotone in relation to the rest of the model and too 'new'.
I agree with Demian. You need to have some access to rules whether it be your own copy or one you share or something. What happens when you play someone and they want to look at the rules as they have never played the Legion before? If you can't show them you are on shaky ground.
Some of the older army books may help you get a theme going if you have access to them, or check things out about the different bloodlines and characters in lexicanum or something.
The Mortis Engine already has regen(4+) and the max. allowed from the reliquary is a 4+ (read the text in the armybook). Therefore it has no effect on itself or another mortis engine nearby.
I would take a look on youtube or search google as there are a bunch of good info sites that have introductory topics just as you are looking for. As for myself, I'm starting out with an airbrush at the moment. I would say, you don't need an expensive compressor, mine is really cheap but seems...
Maybe lift the horses off the base a bit to get the height relative to the new models better and fill the gap with cotton wool for that ethereal smoky effect and to hide the wires they're held up on.
I would guess at:
Spray black undercoat
Airbrush red
Airbrush red/orange
Airbrush orange
Airbrush/highlight yellows and white
And probably some photoshopping to make it 'pop' at the end.
Whilst there is the potential for some broken combos, I disagree that the Elven ET lists are the be all and end all, or that this was designed into them. I think Chaos currently has the distinction of being the best ET list.
I also disagree with this comment. I agree that both lores are good...
I saw this and I'm not sold on the 3 wide. Let's say your unit is 15 models inc. characters - a decent size to ensure you get to combat and the horsemen can soak wounds for you. This means the unit is 5 deep and becomes fairly unwieldy. You also get zero rank bonus which can be a huge problem if...
Other than the more obvious choices I will also second the idea of using horsemen from core to form a new bus for a blender rather than a BK bus. They're so much cheaper and come out of the 'core tax' (something we HE players know a lot about). With a ranked unit full of characters it really...
