YEah that's what I am thinking, using one spirit host cause you can not tarpit it successfully, it can kill more than half of a 50 zombies unit in one round :(

Yeah the item with flaming attacks is the scabscrath or whatever. But it is too expensive for 1k points and you have to take a vampire lord if you want the sword.

True story, I was still thinking 0 lords for 1k from the old book :S Varghulf, vargheist if you need to haunt something, your army seems a bit static and those units will give you kind of mobility to perform some task on the battlefield.

Remember you can only spend 25% points on heros at 1k, you surpass this amount as you spend 392 points on them.

Well as for the hellheart says "Special rules or magic items that affect a normal miscast roll can be used against miscast caused by the hellheart" you can use them "against" the miscast. Could be saying "you have to". So , following the Hellheart rules I don't think you have to roll twice...

I would go for the dragon. I like mobility. Although Coven Throne looks good with Battle of the Wills and will work pretty well when engaging some kind of units.
