Ademus nodded immediately his unblinking stare still on the Baron
"Agreed, you were tasked with this cities protection...it is your mandate and no honourable man could take that away from you." said the Librarian, the common Ultramarine views becoming evident.
"The command structure is of vital importance and I will go to where ever you advise." he said plainly.
"The glory of victory shall lie on you as Reagent" murmered Ademus
And the blame for any failure will lie on us all." he finished silently

''We will cooperate on any movements that you might make, I and my brothers would be happy to aid you with all our experiance and expertise'' Basiclus said. He himself was lisghtly apprehensive of the situtation, but mostly to avenge the shame of defeat earlier.

The engines of several landing vessels roared as they neared the scorched ground, ashes from the thick vegetation beneath the engines blew in all directions. Recon Stormtrooper squads armed wtih flamers and accompanied by a Hellhound had been deployed ahead of time to clear a portion of the thick forest for the arrival of their lord. The troopers silently waited...The lead vessel landed, a compressed air hissed through opened vents, bolts holding the heavy metal hatch blew open and a large ramp slammed hard into the ground. As the ash settled, a tall figure casually strode from the darkness of the vessel. As Inquisitor Lord Mercutio stepped onto the world, sunlight gleamed on the golden "I" upon his chest. The Inquisitorial Stormtroopers kneeled proudly before their lord, simutaniously crossing their chest with the sign of the aquilla. Following closely behind the Inquisitor came his command staff. Accompanying him on this landing are servitors, familiars, a scribe, his Stormtrooper commander, 3 officers of different specialties, his tank commander, two tactical advisors, a sanctioned psyker, and Mercutio's two most trusted and highly trained Stormtroopers acting as bodyguards. Mercutio ushered the recon soldiers to rise and assist in the unloading of supplies.
The Inquisitor lord walked to the center of the landing area and sniffed the air, and looked dead ahead into the thick of the forest, silent...
As Mercutio was silent, one of the officers began explaining the climate and nature of the planet.

"My lord, Moirdivan is as far as we know a feral world, covered in thick jungle and forest. Through recent recon activity from our troops we have discovered that these jungles are crawling with dangerous beasts and even hazardous flora. At the North and South ends of the world are frozen wastelands. It is -- "

Mercutio Interrupted," Thankyou officer, that is all I need to know for now..."

Suddenly the sanctioned psyker burst out in a compulsive laughterand began speaking jibberish.
Both guards squickly drew stub automatics and aimed at the psyker.
Mercutio strode quickly to the psyker and shoved the guards out of the way.
"Speak to me psyker! What is it that disturbs you?"
The Stormtrooper commander interrupted,
" My lord why do we bother with these psyker scum? We would get more use out of them if we strapped a vest to one and put it in our ranks!"
Ignoring the commander, Mercutio focused on the psyker.
The psyker struggled at first, but then began speaking...
"M..m...milord!! Th...the....they are here! N..no it cant be!?! The voices!!
"WHAT IS IT PSYKER!?"
"C....CH..CHAOS....I SENSE THEM..IN MY HEAD...No..Yes!!"
"Where psyker? Tell me where..."
"I...In...a...cit...city! Pain....Suffering!!! They took it!! Sorcery yes...sorcery....that is how...the dark magic!!! Ne...nearby my lord...yes very near"
And with that the psyker began his compulsive laughter once again. Gurgling sounded from his throat, blood gushed from his mouth, all the while still laughing on the ground...
Mercutio's servitor wiped the specks of blood from his armour and one of the guards took a laspistol and put the psyker out of his misery.
Mercutio quickly asked," Officer! Where and what city is the nearest to our location!?"
The Officer responded," Van Dashtalt milord."
"Put thearmy on standby, acquire from the Imperial archives the layout of that city, get me another psyker, put our new asset on standby, and guards....get me a heretic from the cells..

An hour later the guards brought a heretic on his knees before the Inquisitor Lord.
"Heretic! By authority of the Holy Inquisition, under the eyes of the Emperor, I declare your execution! And with this execution I declare full-scale war upon any and all enemies of the Imperium on this planet. We will give you no rest, we will give you no place to hide, and we will give you no mercy! In the name of the Emperor!"
"Send this message to your pathetic gods, heretic...."
Mercutio slowly turned around, rose his broad power sword from the hands of a servitor high into the air, then turned it downwards, and without turning around drove the sword through the air at the side of his waist, straight through the heart of the heretic until the hilt touched the victims chest.

Mercutio's men then hung the heretics body upon a banner, bearing the Inquisiton "I", and a brazier above the body, this would be held from now on by a banner carrier, adding another man to the Inquisitors command staff. By doing this, Mercutio sent a clear message to the taint of chaos and aliens on this planet.
Mercutio walked quickly back into the landing vessel, to return to his fleet and begin making preperations for the battles ahead.
Mercutio would first reclaim the city of Van Dashtalt as a first glorious victory, the first step in purging this planet of alien and heretic filth.

Allectus grunted.
"Lead and we will follow, I will lend you all experience I possess."

He turned on his vox and hailed his ship.
"This is captain Allectus, I want you to call for the chapter. Tell them what is going on here and tell the to hurry. That is all."

He looked at Basiclus, eyed the captain and then asked.
"How many battle-brothers do you have at your disposal Captain Basiclus?"

''I have the entirety of the Second Company at my command, plus support from the honored brothers of the first Company and neophytes from the 10th company, of course I must take into accoutn losses occered fighting the heretics, but that is still over a hundred astartres I have at my disposal'' the marine captain answered.

Ademus nodded slightly at Basiclus's words
"That is good news at least" said the Librarian.
Through his vox he contacted his ship
"This is Ademus of the Ultramarines, send a message to the Chief Librarian, tell him I request reinforcements and that his supsicions are correct, there is a strong force of Xenos here"

With a sigh the Librarian looked around at the men in the room, wondering what the fate of this world would be.

Aerandir raised a eyebrow “It seems that Human mercy is no greater then that of the Orks” he said a hint of grim humour in his voice, “So Human It appear’s that multiple paths have opened for you , either you can warn your brethren in the city of the Ork advance, Or you could strike at the heart of the Horde and slay the Warlord who has roused the Orks into their frenzy, what will you do?” he said in a dull almost board tone.

"I'll do what I always do," Snake replied, "whatever is needed." Taking a moment to cover the trooper with a blanket he walked back into the first room where had seen the terminal earlier.
Logging in Snake placed his hand on the screen.
“Ok, give me a sec,” Rex cut in over the codec. There were few moments of silence before he swore, “it’s held up ready to be transmitted. I’ll have to repair the connection to the city first.” The terminal blinked as Rex accessed it system, images flickering at a bewildering rate. Suddenly it emitted a loud noise before an error message flashed up.
“Rex, what’s going on?” Snake asked.
“Sorry Snake, I repaired the connection but the data was encrypted. Before I could crack it the system transmitted it.”
“What do you mean? I have to go back to the city?” Snake said removing his hand, “You’re kidding? It was hard enough getting out, it will be locked down by now.”
“We have no choice.” The Inquisitor interrupted, “we need that information. You must infiltrate the Lenk’s quarters and access his terminal again.”
Sighing Snake knew there was little else, though getting in undetected this time was going to be much harder.
“Remember Snake, the fight between the city and the Orks has nothing to do with us. This is a sneaking mission only, don't get involved unless you have no other choice."
"I know, but if a few Greenskins get in my way........"
"Then do what ever is necessary," the Inquisitor finished before signing off.

Checking his pistol out of habit Snake turned ready to leave.
"What about you?" he asked the Eldar, "what are you going to do?"

"I am glad to hear we are in agreement," Lenk said relieved. He had been unsure how they would respond, but thankfully it had not caused any problems. Standing up he addressed the marines,
"In that case I believe Captain Basiclus should adopt overall command of the Astartes contingents reporting directly to me. Captain Allectus and Librarian Ademus, I hand control of the infantry forces over to you. Colonel Darius has already taken command of the artillery and General Vosklar needs no assistance with the armoured division. If there are no disagreements to this please check you respective forces and report back on their battle readiness within one hour."

****************************

General Voskler nodded in welcome to the men he was introduced to before turning back to Darius.
"You'll have to forgive Major Raoin. A little impetuous but there's no one else you want watching your back in a Demolisher." He half smiled as if remembering something.
"Your orders are simple enough though Colonel. Due to your and your troops experience you are to take command of the the wall armaments. I'm sure I don't have to explain to you how everything works, however I always like to make sure. As long as the shield is active you have the firing line through the gap you see in front of you, it may reduce the range of the Basilisk cannons but it will mean you and your men are less likely to get hit in return. The men here have trained very day using them, but they have little battle experience. They won't let you down, but may need a kick up the arse now and again."
The two men walked down the wall, the General impressed at the speed in which the Colonel's presence had sped up deployment.
"We don't wait for orders here. You have the authority to order the artillery to fire, and I expect you to use it as soon as you catch site of any of the Greenskinned bastards. Keep in mind we may be here a while though and some of the nervous ones might get a little trigger happy." Removing his cap Voskler ran his hand over his close cropped hair.
"I will be in my command Baneblade The Boss if you need me. However - " The Generals voice trailed off as he spotted something in the distance. Looking round Darius could see nothing of interest but something had definitely spooked him. Turning on his vox Voskler contacted one of the sentry towers.
"Alpha Sentry. This is Zero. Confirm readings on sectors forty-two through fifty-five. Out."
"Zero this is Alpha Sentry. Request to confirm readings on sectors forty-two through fifty-five received. Hold. Negative, sensors towers in that area are damaged, limited readings. Out." A cold chill ran through Voskler chest, he had grown up on this world and knew its ways. Beyond the wall was a mile long killing ground, but beyond that was the jungle which day by day slowly tried to reclaim its ground. It contained millions of animals, creating a noisy din that could be heard in the city. But it had now gone quiet whilst over head birds circled.
"They are already here," he half whispered, before turning to Darius, "it looks like we have run out of time, tell your men to make ready." Almost as if they could hear him a massive roar erupted form the jungle as a green tide began to pour out of it.

Ademus bowed his head to Lenk before turning and striding out the the room wordlessly.
__________________________________________

Darius's eyes widened. slightly before he spun on his heel striding back down the wall
"Illarius! Jarien! Make all ready! Prepare armaments! shouted the Colonel at his officers.
The two juniors sprinted off without a second word towards their respective positions
"Captain!" he called.
Telbrene ran towards his commander nodded
"Don't worry Colonel, I know what to do!"
Darius smiled faintly as the veteran started shouting at the gunners
"Hurry up dogs! If these cannons arn't ready I'll kick every one of ya in the arse so hard you'll be biting my toe nails!" he yelled causing Darius to smile wider.
Darius turned to see Kant striding up and down the wall staring at the gunners, shotgun in hand.
Turning the Colonel walked back over the stand next to the General and his Psyker followed close by.
"I guess the game begins now General" said the officer with a smirk as he looked over the visible Ork forces although he was slightly paler than before.

Kant pointed his shotgun at a young newly recruited gunner
"What did I hear you say sir?" whispered the Commissar
The gunner was deathly pale and licked his lips nervously
"I...I...I refuse to fight here! I'm just new here! Its not fair, I just want to go home!"
Kant shook his head
"Sorry lad but you'll be fighting here"
"But I... he trailed off as the Commissar growled.
"Fine..." he muttered and Kant nodded as he turned and began striding down the wall.
"Do that again and I'll kill you before the Commissar has a chance" hissed a voice behind the gunner.
Turning the gunner saw Captain Telbrene standing next to him with his hand on his holstered laspistol.
The gunner gulped and returned to his position.

''I Must take leave to prepare the defenses'' Basiclus said. Before departing.

------------------------------------------------------

At the walls groups of battle hardened space marines arrived, with their captain at their head, silently taking up position near the Guard positions.

Allectus nodded.
"I will see to that it is done. I'll keep my sterguard as personal bodyguard, and that's all the forces I have with me"

He followed Basiclus out of the command room and went to find his men.

Commander ShadowSoldier silently stalked through the jungle, they had landed earlier on the deathworld. The only intel reports he had was that a secret weapon had been discovered and an ork incursion was starting to ravage through the planet. Aun'sa sighed, he would have came into the mission with more knowledge if the Tau had actually supported his mission. Instead he was forced to run around with several auxillary troops, mainly kroot.

However, the kroot knowlegde of the forest and ambush tactics was in his favor and he planned on finding the weapon and leaving the planet immediatley. However, things hadn't went as planned, a force of Necrons in orbit had assaulted the small Demiurg fleet transporting his small army. They were forced to drop there troops off and leave immediatley. This unfortunate event had left them nearly without any equipment and hardly any troops at all.

"Halt," one of the kroot scouts said, raising his arm and kneeling to the ground.
"What is it?" Aun'sa asked, halting behind the kroot scout.
"I smell old foes," the kroot said, raising his kroot rifle.
"Orks," Angran, the kroot leader said grimly.
"How many?" Aun'sa asked.
"Close to a hundred thousand, maybe more," Angran answered.
"Follow me," Aun'sa ordered, silently stalking through the deeper jungle trying to get a glimpse of there foe.

For about ten minutes the entire little army had slowly picked there way through the jungle terrain. They saw it immediatley, a horde of orks, or at least a small group of them. Around 20 or so orks were all around a crude looking truck, stuck in a web of vines.

"Nex' time I iz gonna' drive, not Ghazak'z. He ain't nuffin but a stupid dung 'ead," one of the orks said, raising its choppa in the air.
"You'z ain't gonna be able to 'andle a truk. You waz screamin' da whole time we waz ridin' in dis bloody jungle," an ork replied, raising his crude slugga pistol.
"Why you dung 'ead whimp. I'll gut you right now!" The ork bellowed, charging, choppa raised.

"Now is our chance. Angran, take your squad and cut them off from escaping. The rest of us will start the blood bath," Aun'sa ordered.

The squad of Gue'vesa raised there pulse fires and awaited the command of Aun'sa to fire. The orks were in a fist fight, and paid no attention to there enemies gathering and preparing to bring destruction. "FIRE!" He bellowed, firing his burst cannon into the horde of orks.

Immediatley over half of the orks were completely slaughtered in the barrage from pulse rifles and the deadly burst cannon. Aun'sa charged into the ork horde, continuing to blast away with his burst cannon at close range. Black blood splattered his armor as three of the orks were blasted to smithereens right in front of him.

The killing was intense and not one warrior of Aun'sa's fell. The orks were devastated, the survivors were trying to flee, only to be ruthlessly cut down by the ambushing kroot. The slaughtering was over as every single ork was dead, the ork truck was all the remained and a horde of vines surrounded it.

"Khardaz, check the truck, I don't want some ork to go off and tell of our presence," Aun'sa ordered, his pulse rifle prepared to fire and destroy any thing that emerged from it.
The kroot nodded and began to approach the truck, he climbed onto the side and was preparing to get into the cockpit. Pulse rifles were raised all around in case he was ambushed.

"WAAAGH!" A gruff voice bellowed, a massive ork jumped out of the cockpit and attacked Khardaz with choppa raised and slugga pistol firing at the surrounding Gue'vesa. Only, Drex and Veldran were wounded, Drex in the shoulder and Veldran in the leg. Khardaz lashed out with his kroot gun, attempting to impale the ork with the bayonet on the end. He missed and the ork had an opening and brought its choppa down on Khadaz. Khardaz fell back, with a bloody gash on his chest from the choppa. Aun'sa raised his plasma rifle and prepared to fire, however before he could the truck was torn to shreds along with Khardaz and the ork.

Seconds ago where the truck had been standing surrounded by vines a massive eight legged and eight eyed creature stood, it legs coming out of the gaping hole it had emerged from. Where the bloody remains of Khardaz and the ork were now. "FIRE!" Aun'sa bellowed, firing his burst cannon at it. It was a massive, virtually unknown creature that none of them had ever seen.

It was a massive creature with eight legs and eight eyes, like a tank but faster and alive. A horde of mansized creatures excactly like it burst from similar holes all around. Devouring and killing anything they made contact with, both Drex and Veldran were carried away, while Phek and Zardax were overwhelmed in a massive tide of them. Aun'sa spun around firing his burst cannon at the horde creatures, they burst into a million pieces, however still dozens came.

"FALL BACK!" Aun'sa bellowed. The kroot fled back, lashing out with there bayonets and cutting there foes into pieces. Aun'sa raised his plasma gun, this was serious. He fired directly at the large leader of the creatures the beam of energy burst through the arachnid body and came out the other end. The beast tumbled down back into its hole, it was dead or at least severely injured. Seeing there leader fall, the creatures scuttled off back to there holes carrying off there new meals.

Aun'sa and his soldiers fled out of the forest until they had arrived into the midst of a battle. A heavily fortified city under siege by the force of orks spotted earlier. A horde of nearly a hundred thousand. "Damnitt, those spider bastards got us into the midst of a battle!" Velkarin, a Gue'vesa soldier, cursed. There losses weren't to heavy, only six kroot and two of the Gue'vesa were killed.

"Aun'sa let us put our tactics to use against these foul beasts," Khazakalz, one of the Demiurg captains, said.
"The Imperials have been nothing but our arch enemies, however I refuse to go back into the jungle. For the Greater Good we shall fight them!" Aun'sa replied.
"Stay away from the infantry and blast away there heavy support. If the infantry start to take notice flee back into the jungle and find cover. We will regroup later," Aun'sa ordered.

A viable target was spotted, a squad of two trucks guarded by three bikers and a horde of orks who were readying themselves to get into it and be transported to the main lines. "There, that is the target. Now attack!" Aun'sa hissed, sending a barrage from his plasma rifle at the surrounding orks. One of the orks bikes burst into flames as one of the plasma bolts found the fuel. The kroot charged out, supported by the fire of both Aun'sa and his Gue'vesa soldiers. Both the Demiurg captains fired with there devastating weaponry of plasma cannons. A gaping hole punched through the first truck, decimating it in seconds. However the remaining truck had begun to take evasive action, dodging the plasma blasts and returning fire.

Aun'sa dodged a barrage from the sluggas and shootas of the orks, only to hear the painful yells of one of the Gue'vesa soldiers. He sighed, the battle was already starting to take the lives of his troops. He stepped out of his cover to send another barrage at the orks as the battle continued...

Watching through the tree's she waited for him to come back out. He had nearly seen her, if he had been there a couple of minutes early. There was a small beeping in her ear as her vox sounded.
"What is it?" The voice on the other side was harsh and cold, no less then would be expected from a follower of Chaos.
"It's him. They sent Snake." The womans voice was calm and collected, no fear, just a quiet authority.
"It was expected. Do you need support."
"No. I will deal with him." Signing off she prepared her weapon, before settling down to watch, a thought running through her mind.
'I owe him that much.'

The great gates had barely closed behind her when a roar shook the ground beneath her. It was louder and more powerful than anything she had ever heard, and Rhianna had to stop herself from trembling. In front of her members of the PDF were shouting orders and frantically heaving weapons and equipment into place. A line of guns had been set up before of the gate, behind hastily built barricades.

'As if they expect the beasts to get through'

Rhianna shuddered at the thought. Ignored by the soldiers, she dragged herself away from the walls and behind the barricade. She was exhausted from all her running and barely managed even that, collapsing against a small truck. Her legs simply wouldn't move any longer.

She had to get away. Her first encounter with the green beasts had nearly stilled her heart with fear, and now they had followed her. That was what it was, Rhianna thought as the din outside grew closer, louder. She had escaped them in the jungle - barely – and now they were out for her blood. A slight whimper escaped her throat.

Rhianna pulled her legs closer and huddled against the vehicle. She couldn't fight them. She had undergone basic soldiery, and had she stayed within the city could be fighting like the others, but seeing those beasts up close like that...

Another girlish whimper.

'Pathetic.' Rhianna buried her head in her knees, 'Utterly pathetic'

Thousands of Orks and Gretchin poured out of the Jungle, and charged the walls bellowing primal Warcries. Kylsnik stood with his arms crossed over his chest, in clear view of the wall daring any snipers to fire on him, "Dats right yea pinkskin runtz I iz right 'ere, I'ze got me boyz attackin yer city come an git me" he thought a grin spread across his face.

The imperial wall guns opened up with a thunderous crescendo. The front ranks of the charging orks disappeared in a hailstorm of firepower from the heavy weapons welded by the guard and the wall defense systems.

From miles behind the wall Imperial Earthshaker cannon mounted on Basilisk mounts opened fire, sending great shells sailing in parabolas into the heart of the ork horde, each explosion killing large numbers of charging orks.

Most of the orks never made it to the wall, dying in heaps, some replied with their own weaponry, but their marksmanship went wide and caused very few casualties.

As most of the front wave was slaughtered the next group was already forming up.

-------------------------------------

Basiclus looked out at the vast field of green corpses. It was hard to imagine that so many orks had died. But Basiclus knew form experience that this was not the end assault.

This was merely the first group, mostly poorly-armed infantry and gretchin, meant to test the defenses, a brilliant plan for an ork. Already at the edge of his genetically enhanced vision he could see the survivors of the first wave regroup and close with the Imperial wall as the next wave formed up. This time this was the real assault.

Ademus sighed as he glanced over the infantry he had been assigned with, his remaining terminators with him having begged to stay to guard him.
Suppose I'll need them if I'm to fight with these poor men fighting with me he thought looking at the imperial guardsmen

Striding easily past the imperial soliders the Astares caught a glance of Captain Allectus.
After a few minutes he was standing beside the captain and he spoke in a quite voice
"What do you think?"

Aun'sa and his small army continued to cut through the rear of the orks with the combined fire of his plasma rifle and burst cannon along with the pulse rifles of the Gue'vesa along with the plasma cannons of the demiurg captains. The kroot were mostly in melee with the orks, killing them down before fleeing back to the jungle under the covering fire of the demiurg captains. They continued these types of hit and run tactics throughout the fierce fighting.

It was what kept them from being overwhelmed by the ork hordes. Aun'sa broke off his attack for a minute or two to see how the entire ork army was fairing, he hovered forward on his jet pack to get a better view.

The imperial humans were doing well against the first wave, the superior firepower had slaughtered nearly the entire wave. However, still the survivors attacked, along with the second wave.

Aun'sa landed in a heavily defended spot by both of the Demiurg captains. He continued to send barrage after barrage into the hordes of orks.

At the top of the main spire Lenk stood in the main strategium looking at the sensor data, well what was left of it. Inside the city he still had full readings, but outside was a different picture.
"We have never seen such tactics used by Greenskins before," said Benthnar, one of the oldest and most knowledgeable tactical advisors on staff, "they have systematically destroyed all external sensors, all at the same time. We have no idea how many more of the enemy forces are still hidden in the jungle, if there are any at all."
"I would assume none," Lenk replied, "the Ork boss seems to have had enough sense to throw a first wave, and we have visual confirmation of the second wave holding here. I doubt he has held any in reserve, it is not how they fight."
The Ork forces now surrounded the city in a circular green ring of bloodthirsty warriors. The attack had been well co-ordinated, applying pressure to every area at once, trying to find a weakspot. They would find none. The curtain wall formed a full impenetrable ring around the city, the gates now welded and sealed shut, reinforced by hydraulic struts designed to prevent them being rammed open. The crackling dome shield covering the city had stopped any bombardment, although they off rocket or shell had made it through the gap the damage was so far minimal.
Reading another data slate Bethnar nodded, obviously pleased,
"The wall defences are holding Milord. We estimate ninety-three percent of the current attack wave are annihilated before they reach the wall. The remaining are destroyed with three minutes. We have not yet suffered and significant losses in return, less than two percent of the walls weapons have been damaged by return fire."
"Excellent," Lenk said, relief showing in his face. It seemed that the city would be able to hold out against the attacking horde. the planets sensor net must have over calculated their numbers after all, "get me Basiclus."

***********************************************************

"I hate waiting," grumbled Slaten, fingering the large ordnance shell nervously. He was barely more than a child at eighteen years old, but he was one of the best loaders in the regiment.
"Don't worry lad, you'll see action soon enough," Vosklar replied from his command chair. His full battalion had drwn up in the cities main square, ready for when Lenk's command came through. From here there was a main throughway wide enough for two tanks to the Alpha gate, ready to delivered their armoured might into directly into the enemies forces if need be.

*********************************

Captain Basiclus stood watching and waiting when transmission came through his vox from Lenk. The orders were simple enough, liaise with Allectus and prepare a contingent of troops to move out once the wall batteries had driven the Ork forces back. Under the protection of the many heavy weapons of the cities wall they were going to drive the greenskinned bastards away.

*********************************

"I will remain here mon-keigh," the Eldar Ranger replied, "the fight with the greenskins is your peoples, not ours."
"Typical Eldar response," Snake returned, a cold look on his face. Drawing his knife he stalked towards the exit, slowly opening the door and looking out. Satisfied the way was clear he moved out.......

Suddenly pain flooded through his body as a bullet when through his shoulder. The force of it threw him to the ground, prone in the middle of the clearing. His mind screamed at him, telling him to move, knowing that laying there exposed would most certainly see him dead. Gritting teeth he quickly rolled before jumping to his feet.

"Don't move."

At the sound of that voice Snake froze. It couldn't be, that voice, it couldn't be her.

"It's been a long time Jack," she said as the walked out of the jungle, gun pointed at Snake's forehead, "but you shouldn't be here, this is not your fight."

Darius stood at the centre of the artillary positions, his two junior officers running around issuing orders, the Commissar striding up and down searching for a gunner that might falter and the enginseer making final checks on the armaments.
Opening a vox to speak with all Commissioned and Regimental officers on the wall Darius spoke
Relay this too all gunners! Prepare to barrage the enemy, once they have began a substantial charge unleash hell! Wait for the orders of myself or one of the majors! And worry not men! The imperium shall prevail against beasts and have no fear! For we are men of the imperial guard and we shall show the xenos s and our fellow humans that we are the true warriors of the Emperor!
A general roar of approval was shouted by the gathered soliders on the wall under Darius's command.
With a sigh he looked out and muttered
"I might not like them...but those marines better do something useful"

The remaining ork truck continued to circle around, blasting away at the kroot and other troops, they rarely hit any, and most of the casualties were there own troops. More of the orks were coming to where the small skirmish was happening looking to get a real fight in instead of being slaughtered by the imperial guns.

Aun'sa turned to see what his troops where doing, the kroot were still in the heavy fighting, while the Gue'vesa and demiurg were slaughtering them with superior firepower. "Take out that truck!" Aun'sa bellowed. His burst cannon narrowily missed it and slammed into an ork biker, decimating him. Both of the demiurg focussed there fire on it, there barrages missing and tearing gaping holes in the ork skirmish line.

Aun'sa plunged himself into the oncoming squad of orks, choppas broke off his armor or simply made a small scratch or dent. His burst cannon however, blasted them out of the galaxy. Literally only small bits were left of each body. The ork truck drove in front of him, four shootas levelled at his head and ready to fire.

Aun'sa duck and avoided most of the shots, however one managed to penetrate his right shoulder. Aun'sa answered with his plasma rifle, sending a hole into one of the tires and causing the crude vehicle to spin out of control into ork lines. Dozens were cut down by the trucks unstoppable skittering.

Finally the orks themselves began to shoot at it, BOOM! The truck burst into flames with shrapnel going everywhere. At least a hundred orks had already been slaughtered by the time Aun'sa and his soldiers were falling back into the jungle.

Four angry bikers and a mob of orks behind them, each one wielding a choppa and a slugga pistol. "Break off!" Aun'sa hissed to the kroot.

The kroot split off into two squads, one going left and the other right. Only Aun'sa and his Gue'vesa troops, along with the two demiurg captains were being chased now. Aun'sa sped upward with his jetpack to land on a sturdy looking tree.

The orks had fell into his trap as Aun'sa got to the high ground, the Gue'vesa and Demiurg spun around to unleash pure hell at close range. The kroot came out of there hiding spots as well, guns blazing. Aun'sa unleashed his burst cannon on the below bikers, the first one was blown to pieces, while the second crashed into a tree. The third dismounted his flaming bike and attempted to draw his slugga pistol. His head was gone before he could even fire.

The orks were all dead, every single one slaughtered. "What is our move now Commander?" One of the demiurg asked. Aun'sa turned to scan the jungle for some sort of new ambush spot. They had already disrupted an ork battle line, destroying to trucks and many bikers in the ambush. What would they do next...

Allectus received the orders through the vox. He nodded slowly and turned towards Ademus.

"Well" He said in a low voice. "It looks bad, but we shall prevail. The guard may not be experienced, so far they have held the line. What will you do when we counter assault?"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asger aimed at the mass of green muscles, fangs and shootas that came towards the city. He waited for the to in range and then unloaded his whole magazine in to the oncoming horde. He did not aim, because there were so many orks that one couldn't possibly miss.

He reloaded and cast a glance towards the men beside him, some were laughing, some were screaming, others just keeping quiet. He smiled and brought his gun to his shoulder and opened fire once more.

The massive fire unleashed by the guardsmen up on the walls, combined with the artillery, heavy weapons and the newly arrived Space Marines slaughtered the orks. Barely any made it to the walls.

Sergeant Gerogg moved up and down the line, urging the men to keep up the fire. Overhead the shield crackled with energy as the crude ork heavy weapons hit it. None in his platoon had been hit yet, only a few casualties as some orks got lucky and wounded men further down the line.

But still, the massacre was huge. The orks fell in droves, but still they pressed on. He emptied his second magazine and reloaded swiftly as Sergeant Gerogg came up behind him.

"Everybody get your butts ready to move out! We will be supporting the armoured companies when the counter attack comes, we will be in the front row, doing what we are best at!"

"Is that dying?" Some wise ass opened his mouth.

Gerogg's eyes flashed red as he ran towards the upstart man and bashed him in the back of his head with the end of his laspistol.

"You will be the first to die, while the rest of us mop up the orks!"

Asger swallowed down hard. Assault. The thing that he had hope to avoid. He just hoped that they would kill enough ork before they had to leave the safety of the city. He opened fire again.

‘’Let’s move out and find Allectus’’ the marine captain said. Around him the Eagle Claws responded with a wave of affirmatives, before marching out on foot, most of the heavy equipment was still on the Eagle Claws battle barge along with half of the 2nd Company, but Basiclus felt confidant enough with the Guard at his back.

As one the astartes moved out as one of the sub-gates opened and they spilled out along with Allectus’s marines and a group of guardsmen into the jungle edge, moving quickly into position to disrupt the next wave.

Ademus shrugged faintly
"Lenk wants me to stay with the infantry I guess, plus I sense a psyker upon the wall I believe hes under the commands of the Colonel Darius..hmm I wonder"
The Librarian's eyes suddenly went out of focus as he stared at something Allectus could not see.

Darius stood silently waiting for the Assault...the artillary fire would surely disrupt the Ork advance.
He turned to call for Kant when he heard a gasp from his right.
Turning he saw Nelrin standing stiffly, his lips moved silently and his eyes where shut tightly.
Suddenly the eyes fluttered open and he stared at the Colonel with his blind gaze.
"Colonel...a Astartes Librarian is amongst the infanty...he was wondering was there anyway he could help" murmered the Sanctioned Psyker.
Darius considered this, he disliked Marines but he was no fool.
"Very well...tell him this..."

Ademus nodded faintly and turned to Allectus
"The Colonel says he intends to barrage the Orks once they begin their advance, the cities gunnery defenses should disrupt quite a few of their soldiers." said the Librarian.
He tilted his head in an odd fashion
"I wonder if their are any other imperial Psykers in the city capable of Telepathy communication"
