  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
Hehe, yeah i need to get some batreps in with these guys soon. I'm one of those "timmy" players who just wants to make a big horde of Witches and smash it forward. I think it would probably be way stronger to simply go MSU witches - they're going go swing first, so make a bunch of 10 packs you dont care about ... but that's probably not my way ;)

Saturday afternoon painting - brought the entire force on the back porch (well, everyone who has at least a little paint on them) and am pushing them along here and there. Maybe i can finish the Cold One Knights as I live the monotony of witch elf hair

Thanks Reaper! Appreciate it.

Worked on the Cold One Knights mostly yesterday - bit of work on the chariot too, but he's not as far along. Still have detailed work to do, but got the banner ready, some dino facial features, rocks/grass/base highlights and other armor highlights. They're shaping up!

Tonight I watched Malorian's Paintisode live hangout on YouTube. I recommend them if you haven't watched his live episodes yet:

Paintisode 2014 09 08

During the paintisode I completed:
  • enjoyed a fine Summit Oktoberfest
  • Did some detail work on the cold one knights
  • Pushed along the base paints on the Cold One Chariot and started trying to match paint schemes between the dinos, harnesses and other metals
  • used some GW technical paint to put some textured earth on the movement tray for the cold ones
  • painted first base of skin on Dark Riders, Executioners, Dark Shards
  • painted the black base for the Executioners

The hobby continues, I'm happy to say. However, today was a taxing one ... super boring. I did large base-coats on executioners, dark riders, a charioteer and darkshards. Then i applied washes to the bases. Hours of boredom and making sure I had even and consistent coats. Hopefully I can get back to the chariot and some of the actual detail on these guys soon.

Even though I spent 5 more hours than intended completely ripping out my toilet and plumbing the shit out of it, I managed to get some hobby in (in between changing the boy). If all goes well, they'll have at least 'enough color' on them' for tomorrow's game vs Warriors of Chaos so we can tell them apart on the battle report.
To keep my progress documented:
  • Dark Riders got Naggaroth Night base purple cloaks
  • Executioners got metal and red trim (base paints as well)
  • Dark Shards got purple cloaks and a nuln oil wash

Thanks, yall.
So got the components all ready to prime, bought a brand new can of Chaos Black and went to spray it: Bam. No paint in the can. Nothing but propellent. WEIRD! I'd never had that happen before.

Thankfully I found an older can of Army Builder's black and was able to prime and start painting tonight. Things are coming along - but it's going to be a really long project!

So no new milestones, but the work on Nagash continues! Got him to a spot where the robes & ghosts are nearing completion. Soon i'll be able to start on his body and put him back into his pants ... Nagash is a flasher, what can i say? <insert joke about his bone>

That model is just so huge. All of your stuff up to this point have been great, I wonder what you'll be able to pull off with this guy. :)

Thanks, my friend!

managed to get a (relatively) full day of hobby on Nagash today - interruptions from the kid and puppy, but still pushed him a long a lot:
  • scabbard skin shaded
  • staff's vampire red and metals added
  • bone shading all over
  • undead skin shading started
  • added first layer of basing (need to buy more flock tomorrow)
  • started on the books in the vortex
  • added purple armor and hat colors
  • finished the agonizing hours of edge-highlighting his armor plates
I can feel it ... we're getting close to a complete nagash here, people!

Ok ... so I had 3/4 of a beer to go and the third Riddick movie wasn't done ... so i decided to jam him together ahead of schedule.

Unfortunately, there was some cracking and breaking but i think i've fixed most of it. There's a lot of detailing work to do still. Additionally I have to paint & add his book to his right hand. Then basing ... and etc etc etc ... but he's looking like one badass Supreme Lord of the Undead already!

BEHOLD ... NAGASH!

Thanks man. I can do you one better -

GW put up a how to paint Nagash series of videos which were life-savers. Deviated from it here and there, but in general you can move to parts that showcase their bone or armor and see how they suggest it
