There is not actually that much information on Dwarfs and Bretonnians. However I think from a Dwarfs point of view, a manling is a manling so they would probably treat the Bretonnians the same as the Empire.

From a Bret’s point of view, I would imagine they would actually quite like the Dwarfs. When it comes to honour, courage, valour, heroic deeds and being easily insulted they follow many of the same traits.

I've heard that they do that, yeah. It might have been mentioned in the current WoC book, something along the lines of the norther tribes of marauders attempting to sweep into Cathay but being repelled by various weird and wonderful things, living terracotta automatons being one of them.

Ok I'll refine my question when does it get to the point that a vampire can call its self the master of a bloodline? does it have to do with age reputation or amount of gets? Or even how much they have effected the world??

The Masters of the Bloodlines are the original vampires, first offered immortality by Neferata... either through the Elixer of a combination of the Elixer and her own blood.

I suppose a Vampire could claim mastery of a lesser, more obscure bloodline but that vampire would have to be old, very old, and very powerful.

I don't think he used daemons, to the best of my knowledge he used loads of captured slaves... it took fifty odd years to build so I imagine that he expended a fair few of said slaves along the way

and vampires grow more powerful with age , and neferata being the first vampire and most of the other master vampires slain would that make one of if not the most powerful vampire alive ?

Bit of an odd question perhaps, but how many bloodlines are there? Obviously there are five currently known to the empire, but in Nagash the Unbroken there are descriptions of a shapeshifting vampire and a Cathayan/Nippon (can't remember which) vampire. Is there any more info on "lost bloodlines"?

I'm particularly interested in the Oriental themed vampire as I'm thinking of starting a Mordheim warband based on them using the "Spirits of vengeance" and various other wyrd models.

Cathay has vampires.

There was some fluff floating around for the Jade-Blooded vampires.
The Author of the Liber Necris intended the vampires from Cathay to be descended from the Master Vampire Harakhte who had been the Court Vizier in the City of Lahmia.
They where to be obsessive compulsives (e.g. bow a precise amount then take an exact number of steps backwards).

Nothing was ever really officialised about them, I personally wrote alot of mini-fluff pieces on my computer ages ago about these order-obsessed vampires (The lack of fluff leaves alot of room for creativity).

There is also believed to be another bloodline descended from Maatmeses the Chief Justice (Judge, head of law-making) in Lahmia, I think the idea was for her bloodline to be sort of Jungle Dwelling, Voodoo sort characters. Theres some awesome fluff based around this Master Vampire and Bloodline written by The Pale Lady in the story forum.

And I believe only seven master vampires survived the fall of Lahmia so seven bloodlines would probably be all there is.

Neferata is definitely one of the most powerful vampires still alive.
Abhorash would most likely defeat her in a full out fight but only the Gods know where he is.
Maatmeses and Harakhte may also be comparable in power to Neferata, if they still live.
Arguably Melkhior would have been close to her in Strength after he drained W'soran although he's as mad as a hatter.

Then theres other variables to be taken into account, e.g. vampires who master powerful magics, drink the blood of a greater vampire, find potent artefacts, drink the blood of a dragon etc (Like Zacharias)

But it would be safe to say she's certainly up there.

thanks for all your help guys xD
got another few questions for ye , how long did Vlad Von Carstein rule Sylvania?
and is it possible for a lahmian vampires to infiltrate other bloodlines ?
and has there ever been any notable male lahmians?

He ruled as Count from 1797 and openly showed himself as a Vampire in 2010 on Geheimnisnacht.
He ruled until his death during the siege of Altdorf in 2051.

I don't believe so, the Lahmian sisterhood tend to hate men and if they do sire one he'd probably be kept as a slave.

I think the guy in Vampireslayer Adolphus Krieger was a Lahmian who served Mannfred and tried to use an artefact of Nagash to bind all vampires to his will. I suppose that is notable.

It's been ages since I read the book but I think hes a Lahmian because his get Ulrika Magdova has her own book series now in which she is a Lahmian.

Cheers for that GoW, I'll have a browse around.

The voodoo vampire also sounds interesting, I hadn't heard of her before, but definitely worth looking into :)

It's not problem, this is a good thread to read about it.
I think the author i mentioned even contributes a few times.

whats the deal with hellebron and morathi in this edition ?? i mean in last edition morthi was the head of the witch elves but now she plays second fiddle to hellebron yet she still is the only one with access to the true cauldron of blood ? to make matters more complex morthi is also the leader of the cult of pleasure (which i thought was outlawed in naggroth)??o.o

@micalf5
If you are interested in Lahmian vampires I made up some none to shabby fluff about One for the Vampire council the stories are in my Sig if you feel inclined to browse through them. I always like the idea of Lahmian vampire's, the elegance, the mastery of the subtle seduction.
Glad to see ore people asking questions in here.

The thing to remember about Morathi is that in many of Naggaroth's affairs she's very much the power behind the throne. Hellebron may be the official leader of the witch elves, but Morathi is still highly influential (not least because she keeps some of their secrets and artefacts to herself, such as the true cauldron).
Also Morathi and Malekith will flaunt the laws they make whenever it suits them. Male sorcerers are outlawed in Naggaroth too, but obviously Malekith himself is a male sorcerer and if you follow the WAR storyline, he's willing to use them so long as they're not too close to him.
Dark elf law is basically something everybody BUT Morathi and Malekith have to follow.

Male Sorcerer's are outlawed because Malekith fears them, him being one doesn't count since he isn't a danger to himself :P
It's all to do with the prophecy of demise that a male elf mage would kill him (so naturally he assumed it would likely be an ambitious Druchii Sorcerer).

Male Sorcerer's exist of course, they just arn't legal although many nobles still hire them as they'd prefer to avoid owing the Sorceress convents any favours. They are also hunted down actively by the Sorceress Convents under Malekiths orders.

To my knowledge there is only one Sorcerer (apart from Malekith himself) that is allowed to legally be a sorcerer and that is Furion, he happens to be older than Malekith and basically one of the first elf users of Dark Magic (I think hes one of the few people Malekith trusts).

Also as for WAR, I'd avoid it when it comes to Lore tips, the game takes great liberties.

how come dark elves out live high elves ? i mean like morathi is gifted with dark blessing and also has the cauldron of blood, but what about malekith and hellebron and other dark elves that have lived since the sundering ? do the all make dark pacts to extend their considerable lifespan ?

Malekith is basically inside a magical life-support suit which keeps him alive through the ages, Hellborne is keep rejuvinated through the cauldron of blood and such although (from my point of view) it seems that it's having less and less effect each time.
The thing in common with them all seems to be Dark Magic allows them to extend their lives to unnatural lengths.
