lots of people suggested warhammer world, it is however out of town and well, THERE'S A FANTASY THEMED PUB!!!!!!

It isn't really out of town, it's very easy to get to, 15-20mins walk from Nott'm railway station, for someone who doesn't walk very much. Max 15 mins for someone who does, including figuring out how the hell you get out of the station anyway.

I vote gaming, games is fun, I'd be happy to arrange a game on whatever day we choose. Cos it'd be terrible to meet up & discover that we're all introverted nerds with nothing in common except an unreasonable dedication to small plastic skeletons, wouldn't it?

That said... I'd also be quite happy to skip gaming & go on the razz at Rock City after a few ales in the many lovely pubs it sports, though that would be a hell of a lot more complicated vís getting home, mainly on account of the fact that I could't until after 4pm on sunday.

Ah, see I got very lost en route to Warhammer World and it took me all day and many buses going in circles :-P probabaly isn't actually that far...!

oooh Rock City....

meh, whatever, I'm used to sleeping in train stations and whatnot, and am most certainly not an introverted nerd!

I will struggle to get over until much later in the year now, as we are going to the Fetes des Ramparts in Dinan this year (a town goes medieval :-) ) in late July, sneak some work in, go to a LRP event over the bank holiday and I am over for an Iaido course in early September in Leeds (visiting Japanese instructors) - all of which requre travel (= expense) :-(

Date dependant, it may be possible to sneak a quick beer in, but not looking too hopeful.

Anyone know what the pub used to be? it looks vaguely familiar, but my stint in Nottingham was about 25 years ago.

The Pit and the Pendulum does good food- I was thiknig we could meet up and have nomms together???

I think would be a plan :P

Whatever we choose to do, I will probs appear early so I can go shopping before- they have some really good Goth shops in Nottingham I have not been to for aaaaaaaaaaaaaages :P

I haven't been to Leicester for a while but I remember "Blink" being an awesome shop, is that still there? A lot of it was handmade by awesome goth lady, and pretty cool prices, was in one of the arcades... And the shop by Games Workshop... hippy/emo stuff ground floor and goth section downstairs? There was also the shop near where all the boutiques were... er... opposite the hippy shop with all the drugs... Very Bazarre? upstairs of that shop... in the little corner bit used to have a few good things?

Or has everything changed and they're all scene/emo?

Used to go there a lot, lived not that far and used to love going there to get different things I couldn't get in the town (Yes folks, I used to be goth..... heck I still am at heart, just a erm, brightly coloured one!)

'Blink'...hmm... Not heard of that one :(

There was/is the Very Bazaare thats good for piercing stuff :)

HAZE!!! used to be 1/2 Hippie Chick and 1/2 Emo guy stuff upstairs, then downstairs was new rocks, metal t-shirts, Visctorianesque coats, dresses and various black leather with studs!!!
That shop was AWESOME! (I got 2 of my coats and my New Rocks from there :P)...

...But alas... Haze hath faded far :(
(Now only really does Scene crap).

VooDoo was another good one, used to do a gd mix of 'Dark' Emo (that was kinda cool) and gothic stuff- but alas- this too has fallen far :(

However a new shop called 'Insanity' opened a few years ago, but unfortuneatly they only stock Goth-esque clothing for the ladies of our race :(

Thank God for the internet!!! :D

ANYWAY.

Rant over :P

Missed out on meeting Annie at the weekend, guess I'll have to come to this after all!

You're rubbish! Was out all Saturday with the Irish teams in the rock club! Then around pretty much up til starting time on Sunday!

Ah yes, my crew ended up going to the far more sedate Beverley near our hotel, didn't realise that elsewhere the Irish were causing mayhem! I did actually see you leaving Firestorm on Sunday but was half asleep and you were halfway down the road before I connected the dots. Rubbish I am!

I'm entirely willing to join in. I have the same problem as DoN as being busy around the end of July*, and the same problem as Cpt. Rubber Ducky as being only a wee 17-year-old.

I take it it's in Nott'ham? I admit to only having skimmed the thread, but that seems to be the impression I got.

*Actually, given how much free time I tend to have, count me as a maybe, depending on when it is and if I've got anything on that day.

How can you not want to arrange this at halloween people! :zombie3:

I live in Lincoln, though Nottingham is nice. Im sure ive been to the pit and pendulum, is that the place with coffins on the walls? And lots of creepy horror-theatre memorabilia (omg spelling?). I seem to remember a place like that in Nottingham. Where there were like pictures on the walls where the eyes moved, and they did fantastic cocktails based on the seven deadly sins. So very in character!

I had a "lust" which had ice cream in it, and was wonderful.

Yay , I so want in on this... I live in England, and get half price fares on National Express cos I'm not allowed to drive (yes that's right I have a spaz pass as I'm... well... a spaz I suppose  Haha... Don't ask...

Lets play Warhammer, get drunk, and get tattoos

OMG I feel like I'm in the army again and I'm having a hippy flashback.... Breathe... Breathe.... lol
Well if you can get to Cleveland in the north east you can all stay at my house... I live about 30 minutes drive from Whitby which has a huge Goth following if that floats your boat :vampire3:

Is everyone hear goth? lol. Because im the kind of guy who goes to a night out in black jeans, a purple shirt tucked in, and a brown belt, or something.

Or sometimes jeans, white t-shirt and a dinner jacket.

Still, drinking gamesss.... ring of fiiiire.

Bloody hell, we were playing that the other day... Is it possible we were at the same (stupid) party? Familiar territory, posters above, I too live in Lincoln & me dad lives in Scarborough. Do you play at Gobstyks, Coeur?

We still don't have a coherent plan here... unfortunately I'll be pretty skint over the summer so it'll be tricky.

Ha ha i havent been there no, but i love ring of fire. We probably have different rules, i know so many versions. But the core is always the same i guess, a ring of playing cards round an empty pint glass?

The dirty pint of doom.

My worst was red wine, guiness and wkd blue. We practically force ourself to drink cooky stuff, as a dirty pint of beer + beer + beer.... lol... hardly even seems like a punishment.
