Please give me options for meanest list based on 2014 points, using VC, with Scrolls Binding/Pacts allowed....

Thanks,

You can create some serious filth combining TK with VC. Tough to do at lower point levels, but I created a list at 3,000 with both Mannfred and Arkhan the Black (for double D&D) with two caskets and two terrorgheists. It's actually easier to do the list with a TK base though, as the VC pact has fewer mandatory units and you can fill the core unit requirement with min-sized units of dire wolves.

The trick is that the VC portion has to hit hard and fast, as the pact has a chance of coming unbound as early as turn 3.

He has gone through a few different phases but these days I use him as a shock platform so just heavy armor quick blood enchanted shield dawnstone and a lance

Johnny, I'm a huge fan of Hex's and Sprit Host, but the new Wood Elves wipe them off the board with all the magical shooting, and the Blk Night bus gets massacred by the specialty arrows. How'd you build VC vs the new Wood Elf book?

Blocks and blocks and more blocks. Elves dont like boots on the ground

Thoughts on chariots like the Coven Throne, double mortis, or even the Black Coach? I've got 4 hordes between core, and special, but looking to toss some impact stuff to help vs the asf. Blck Coach is t6 too, which I love. Have you built an army with specifically the WE's in mind? Thx

Dear Johnny,

The Slann floated on his throne in the middle of his Temple Guard, having as many ablative wounds as my Master Necromancer. Events transpired so that my BKbus didn't get the charge, but his Temple Guard did... and they summarily ate my bus (and vamp and WK) for breakfast.

1) What do we undead do about these scaly things?
2) How does Screaming Banner + Fear Incarnate work vs Lizzie Leadership rolls?
3) Besides ensuring that any Dwellers Below get DScrolled and any Throne of Vines gets dispelled, how do we deal with their onslaught of magic?

Honestly, the TG-bunkered Slann is far easier to deal with than his cousin nestled within a skink cloud. Vampires really don't have much that can deal with a Skink cloud.

Either way, people fixate WAY too much on Slanns. In fact...it's generally part of the Lizardmen player's core strategy: people fixate on the Slann, and waste resources killing it instead of the rest of his army. Lizardmen are like VC, in that their core is fairly worthless and it's their special/rare/heroes doing all the heavy lifting. The Slann is nasty, but if you know which of his spells are going to do the most damage you can largely mitigate his effect on the game.

So with that in mind:

1) Charge in, hit them hard. Purple sun the big blocks if you can, scream at his cowboys, tie stuff up with zombies, and beat him in the grinding fight.

2) Lizzies get an extra die for LD checks, dropping the highest. So you'd roll 4, dropping the highest and the lowest, and negate their Slann's BSB reroll.

3) You don't: you ignore it. Mitigate where you can, but recognize that his Slann is 500 points and is GOING to have a big effect on the game. More importantly, without things to cast buffs on the Slann is worthless. Kill his other units and he's a buff engine with nothing to buff.

Thanks Ninja and Johnny. Meta here has changed to Wood Elves and Lizzies, so your answers were very timely. Time to shift from cav to huge blocks of GG/CH/core. Since we have no clue in Triumph and Treachery who goes first each turn, big slow defensive blocks are safer than glass cannon blocks, and Vanhel's becomes key again.

Dear Johnny, I love Crypt Horrors, and would like to field characters in the unit.

I know I can, but I mean without having a lord stick out like a sore thumb. Could I put say a VL,WK, and two wraihts in the unit (so they take up 40mm in a square), and put them in the middle of a Crypt Horror unit?

Does the abyssal terror have an official base size? Could I make a 40mm one, and pop him in like that?

I am guessing the answer to both is no. (Sorry for being a noobblood.)
