Is there still room for new characters to join? I just stumbled across this today, but I think I'd like to give it a try. I've only done a little bit of RP on a board, namely Wheel of Time. I also don't know a ton about the history of the Warhammer world as I haven't played for a long time.

Unless I'm seriously mistaken, I don't think this RP really has an end date for admissions (except for maybe towards the end, which I don't think we are anywhere close to), your just going to have to talk with one of the GMs for how to get your character into the story. But honestly that shouldn't be too difficult for this story line, the only problem is we tend to have a lot of slow points with real life stuff coming up for people preventing them from participating as often as they would probably like. Honestly quite a number of people have joined and left during the course of this campaign, so I'm fairly certain you should be fine hopping in somewhere.
But my advice is to make a character sheet and see if one of the GMs will talk with you about how you can fit your character in.

Yes. As Kavok said, just create a character and work out how it could be introduced. It is ongoing recruitment, so take as long as you like, and I'm sure the rest of the group would be delighted to have another recruit.

I've got a pretty decent idea for a character so far, I'm just not sure about what I would do with his long term sideplot.
I'm thinking of doing a former Wild Rider of Kuranos who was turned into a Blood Knight during their Wild Hunt. While not very strong, he more than makes up for it with his skill of spear and speed.
Again, I have most of the stuff as far as stats and weapons, plus an item so far. Just not too sure about the sideplot and beliefs just yet.

I think Blood Dragons look more for martial skill than toughness, or at least martial skill can compensate for a lack of toughness. But that leaves that issue of Blood Kissed Elves exploding. There was a Vampire Dark Elf in the first TVC, but that was made possible through a number of technicalities, if I recall correctly.

I didn't realize that Blood Kissed Elves explode. Back to the drawing board then. Quick question, what all races don't explode or have some other volatile thing happen to them when they get kissed? I'm sure Men don't, but are there any others?

Another question, I've been trying to do a little bit of reading here and there to get in tune with where the story is going, is there a good place to go to catch a good synopsis, or should I just keep powering through posts and try to catch up that way?
Also, I don't know much about Chaos ( I just started a Nurgle 40k Army), and less about Chaos in the fantasy setting, so my question here is, are there any Chaos Men? Or are they all daemons?

There are Chaos Warriors, and Chaos Daemons. As for a synopsis, there's the Story so Far thread in the OOC forum, which summarises completed chapters and supplementals (small side chapters), and then just read through the unlocked chapters.
Humans and Ghouls are the only two races that can be turned into Vampires according to Nights Dark Masters

Would there be a chance to play a Norse Vampire, or would I have to settle for a Wight King in that case?
I don't see any reason that a Norseman couldn't be sired so long as he isn't corrupted by Chaos.
