Dark tidings...

I've recently started playing Warhammer Fantasy, but I've been wanting to play it for a while with an eye on the Counts.

Currently, we're having a low point cost campaign at work (600 point armies), and I've been using an army borrowed from a friends stuff (A vampire modeled after Santa, a sleigh drawn by undead reindeer, and a force of elf zombies)

Now I'm starting to build an army, though I'm not using much in the way of GW minis to do it (Mantic's prices are a lot better).

However, I've been inspired in my planning more off of some of the Warcraft art and Death Knights (Along with some of the Blood Dragons concept).

greetings all, im countwuzzy. ive been playing whfb since i was 11 years old(13 years ago), started off collecting empire, then one day 3 years ago while working, i found 152 us dollars on the ground, seeing how i hadn't bought warhammer in a few years, i thought i would, so, i went to my local hobby shop, they had vc blood nights on sale, so i decided to buy them. and ever since I've enjoyed collecting, converting, building from scratch and painting vc. I've been reading this forum for a few months now, and finally decided to join.

Greetings everyone,

yesterday evening i was searching for some information about the vc in the new edition and so i stumbled about your comfortable crypt and decided to stay here.
Until now i have only tested the Warriors of Chaos but recently my Vampire Lord cast a reproachfull gaze at me so i decided to give them a chance.

So i'm looking forward to get some usefull information and some inspirations for my new army.:vampire3:

Evening brethren?

Frank here.
Been playing VC for only a bit but I've fallen for the ambitious blood-sucking and scheming in the fluff (funny since I play IG in 40k).

As for playing I favor my northern Reaver-turned Blood Dragon, Nicholai; the magic dice hate him so I leave the power pool to my thrall, Markus.
As for the rest of the army, he uses some corpses he and Markus dragged fom Corpse Run.

Welcome one welcome all, to this dark but surprisingly nice corner of the internet. Hope you all enjoy your time here at CN, any questions just PM someone who knows what they're doing. Like a Mod. Or DoN. Or a True Blood. see, there's lots of options!

NOw, go forth and explore the forum till you find what you're after!

Oh and Frank - excellent choice of name on your Thrall there my friend, most excellent indeed... xD

Uh, Marcus, I think you've gotten it wrong - the lowly thrall is You!
Mwahaha-hahaha-haha! :vampire2:

Anyway, a warm welcome to all of you new people around here. Your presence will continue to invigorate Carpe Noctem with new input and opinions, but make sure to follow the rules of the game as good as possible, aight? You'll find them under the Forum tab in the navigation bar near the top of the page. If anything is unclear, please don't hesitate to send a message to someone who you think might be able to advise you further.

..like me. I know a lot of stuff.

Now my new minions, swarm into these crypts and mill about as you please! :vampire3:

Now that's not on MS. Just because you have 4 times as many posts as I do does not give you the right to call me a lowly thrall. :mad2:
I am most deeply offended by your comment, and I think you should go look up them rules you just told us about, particularly this one:

"All posts should be respectful and civil. We will not permit insulting, aggressive, or generally derogatory posting. You are free to express your opinion, however you are expected to do so in a civil manner."

Lowly thrall indeed. Both insulting, and has no respect at all!!!

Grrrrr

Now now, you shouldn't be cross with me here. We've all had to start out somewhere, right? It's just that some of us started out higher than others.

Also, you can't really use the forum rules against us red-letter people. They're mostly there to keep the rest of you in place while we float around on our own discretion. Status quo, bro. Don't hassle the quo.

:clown:

Ohohoho, so now you're saying you started out higher than me? Damn, that's arrogant man. And here you are supposed to be setting an example to all these lovely people joining the site. Tsk tsk

As to your second point, are you telling me that the staff members who came up with the rules are free to ignore them?! That's dirty, no matter what way you look at it. As to the quo. Bah. Suff the quo :devil2:. You have gone down in my opinion MS, a long way down...

Damn, having you down there is making me uncomfortable now...

Hello,

I'm new to this game, my brother has helped me with a few rules such as moving around, but he is a Lizard Man and I thought it would be better to get help from people who have experience with Vampire Counts.

Welcome people! If you have any questions to ask, please don't hesitate in contacting a staff member for guidance. Make yourself at home and it'll soon feel like home too. :clown:

Yo guys!
I've just started a glorious new Vampire Counts army and needed a place to help me fuel my new bloodlust! Looking forward to talking to y'all.

Hello all, just registered here after lurking for a couple of weeks. Last december I decided to breathe some (un)life into my old undead. I will post pictures soon for those that haven't already seen them elsewhere (Frothers, The Lead adventure Forum or GWhobby for the Dutchies). So I'm from the Netherlands (Groningen), at the moment I play Tomb Kings but after losing all my games I'm thinking of making a part-time switch to Vampire Counts. That's it for now

I find myself at a point where I have way to many models unpainted and way too many rulebooks for games that I will probably never play. My focus seems to shift from one cool thing to the next without a clear objective and no complete armies. I am a victim of my own attention span, which is something I want to change.

That’s kind of why I am here, I certainly enjoy the challenge of painting miniatures and the Vampire Counts became a viable option for me when GW released the Blood Knight models. I have been a Ray Harryhausen fan every since I saw the old Sinbad movies and Jason and the Argonauts, the skeletons they fought were scary and cool at the same time and so the VC panache for skeleies was right up my alley! The models and the potential conversions for those models has drawn me in and I want to focus all my creative energy on just that, a huge VC army I can call my own!

I am 32 married with two boys and two dogs. I work for a great company and so does my wife and we make a good enough living that I can indulge in my addiction to plastic soldiers. I live in Maryland which I love because of the seasons.

I really enjoy how this site is laid out especially the forums, these days it’s to easy to go out and start a forum without any further effort but this site has made it very user friendly and I can tell a lot of work has gone into it.

Thank you for the opportunity to regain my focus and finish what I start. I look forward to the interaction here!

Afternoon All,

Just got back into war wammer after 10 years without playing and am getting up to speed with all the new rules. Still have a chaos dwarf army (although fat lot of good they are now) and an undead army from back in the day. Have found that alot of the models for the undead are still relevant, thankfully, as games workshop prices seem to have rocketed :-(

Anyway will probably be asking alot about the new rules in the coming weeks and asking advice about a number of things.

Cheers

Hello All
Just getting myself back into Fantasy after a period of playing 40k.
Have restarted my ancient VC army after reading through the skaven army book and reading the pact with nagash and thought they would be the perfect counterpart for my skaven army.

Cheers

Hi,

I am looking to get back into Warhammer after some time away. I am looking at my old models and trying to find what still can be used, I have 40+ skeletons that are now old. Still, the zombies have not changed! prices do seem to be a lot higher and I'm trying to do things as cheaply as possible!

thanks

hey all,

i'm gunna start up a VC army (look up the thread xD ) i have a small very bad lizardmen army and LOADS of 40k and seeing nearly all my armys get ripped 2 shreds by chaos and blood angels is gettin slightly... dull so i have decided to finally get close to beating them without my dark angels op landspeeder by a. getting some advice on building up a good army and b. gettin an army that wont run out of units after a couple of powerful spells

Hi everbody,

I've been leading my VC from defeat to embarassing defeat since 2001, and found this forum a couple months ago. 8th ed., though hurtful (IT BURRRNSSS USSS!), rekindled our FLGS interest in WHFB, so I'm looking for a place to whine to other VC players. ;)

Walkthrough?

Hey, guys.

This forum is a little overwhelming and I have no idea where to look for a walkthrough?
You know, like a guide about the armies units, the pros the cons ect. Where would I find something like this?
A link would really, really be appreciated, thanks :perv:.
