Well, I am 34 and from Sweden. I mostly came here because Grish insisted I try and see your problems with my precious asrais. But I am still convinced GW:s balancing between VC and asrai slants in VC favour...

Hence, I have taken the Vows of the Kindred of Talu, the asrai sort of slayers. And since my main opponent play VC, slaying vamps is sort of what I try to do.
So if you need a fellow count or lady slayed with stake (treemens are naturally gifted for vampire slaying, if you just can get them there) and blade, just give me a call!

But I must admit those lahmian damsels look very alluring... Maybe I should go over and have a chatt...

Hello! Welcome to CN, though I detest the tree hugging hippies I still look forward to hearing your views, admittedly the VC can be overpowering at times, but I'm sure we can find some advice to give that will help you.

The Lahmian fluff is very good, you may find it difficult to create one with the new rules however, still you will find all the assistance you will need on the forums.

Hello, i am Meier Lenk, a lonely count in the north of england who came across this forum quite by accident, but likes the look of it, and the subject matter (cos vampires are cool, and warhammer is swish hehe)

been collecting VC on and off for the best part of 5 years, and the only surviving model of the first feeble forays into the night is a necromancer ive not had the heart to repaint due to terrible bouts of nostalgia.

my desire to pull my skellies out of the closet was inspired by a nifty way of speed painting bone colours i was recently told, and so my band of dusty dead-men has risen to about 45 skeletons, 5 TC cavalry i use as Black Knights, and a smattering of the ghostly and wolfish, along with myself, my old necro, konrad (mainly due to his appearence-a nice model imo) and a vampire lady ive yet to acquire to be my thrall.

nice to meet you all, and i hope we get along :)

*edit* TC is supposed to read TK, but its dark here and the keyboard is a bit battered hehe

ive just realised that my counts name is surpsrisingly popular hehe. ive seen 4 different instances of meyerling, meier ling and such......they all mean the same *sob* :S

Greetings, all. I am 31 and have just started playing Fantasy. I have been playing 40k for about 5 years and have both Space Wolves and Eldar. VC were my first and only choice for Fantasy, though. I look foreward to learning to play them well.

Ehrm.. my name is Alex im 16 and live in washington...... just started collecting/painting and am collecting vamps in fantasy, tau in 40k. Hope to make a green horde army since thats the color zombies should be imo

Hello all!

I happened to find this site by searching for some answers on how to play the VC effectively.

I'm fairly new (only having played for roughly 6 months), I enjoy the hobby as much as the game and I tend to obsess. Hence the fact that I have 5000pts ready to be tabled once I feel I can control that large a force and not have my brain explode.

I am from the US and live in SC.

Hey, everybody. I just shimmied over from War Seer and wanted to give a holla, yo... erm, yes. I'm a Skaven player originally, but since 7th I've been concentrating on my VC, making them my primary army now and I'm looking to improve my tactical & painting abilities (aren't we all?). Perhaps I'll even give a little knowledge of my own, if I deem you worthy. :D

Greetings,

I have been playing WHFB on-and-off since the early 90's (3rd Ed? Who remembers vampiric blades? Those were fun.) I started out first with high elves, which I soon ditched for skaven, whom I played for years. Next I added orcs because they were so much more fun to paint. I managed to win a Best Army award with my Savage Orc / Forest Goblin army in a Seattle GT some years back. Or maybe it was Chicago - lol. Next I added ogres because the theme and the models are just too cool not to play. And finally, I recently got lured into playing 7th Ed VC. I love the flexability in list generation they offer, and of course vampires are always tres chic. After playing the relatively fragile rats/orcs/ogres, the idea of unbreakable tar pit units is amazingly refreshing and empowering. lol

I used to paint a fair bit, but life has encroached on painting time quite a bit. Now I just dabble, and have resorted to purchasing painted mini's on EBay (oh, the shame!)

I have been over on Blood Keep for a while, and just recently heard this place was humming, so I thought I would drop in.

By the way, love to see a site this well sorted. The auto-verify on the user name and the auto-sizing on the avatars...well done!

Death to the Living

Hello all,

I've been playing Warhammer for close to 10 years now, and started VC back in 6th edition, but never played them much (I only collected a few units, never had a 2k army of them). I've played mostly Dwarves, but have since sold them off, and play Empire as my mainstray army.

After the new book, and new figures (especially the Skeletons and Graveguard) came out, I had to buy them, so here I am again with a VC army, but this time I will be building a full army. Thats why I decided to join these forums (I typically post on Warhammer-Empire.com, as simply Volt), so I can post my WIP of my army, check out various army lists, and just learn more about Vampire Counts and what works best with them.

Love the forums so far, and can't wait to start posting. :)

Hey hows it going. Im wolfie, 23 and from N.ireland. Just started back into collecting fantasy after selling my empire army about a year ago. So now that i am getting back into it all once again (girlfriend not best pleased with that idea) with my mates i decided to do the old Vampire Counts as its been the army i have always wanted to collect.

Have collected GW stuff for so long i cant remember when i started, used to be heavily into 40k but i grew tired of it as there isnt as much tactics involved just who has the better gun. I also prefer the back stories to fantasy and i have read quite alot of the novels.

Hello, all.

I'm 24 and from Texas. By training and trade I'm an archaeologist. I've been a player of tactical combat games most of life and avoided WFB for reasons that seem quite unclear, now ;) It may be that most of the armies never really had a feel or thrust that clicked with me. Friends have been trying to get me interested for years. I finally picked it after flipping through the new VC book at a friend's place. This mechanic finally clicked with me.

I've played 40K for a couple of years and while I've been interested in the fantasy setting (played a bit of the Roleplaying game, when I was younger) I hadn't picked it up until a couple of months ago. With resources not just flowing out of my pockets I'm collecting somewhat slowly and reading more than playing until I get all the stuff I want.

I stumbled across this site while searching for places with some good sample army builds and discussions of same. I'm pretty impressed and so I just made an account. I plan on spending a healthy chunk of time here over the coming months as I build into a real VC player and then the years to come as I start really playing.

So here's to a fun and educational friendship from here on out. I'll probably be asking lots of questions, please pardon this humble neophyte.
