Long time hobbyist here. I've been involved with games workshop on and off for about 7 years, mainly painting and coming up with various projects rather than actually making a proper army. I did have tyranids and enjoyed devouring things with hordes of gaunts, so hopefully the switch to devouring things with hordes of undead will come naturally to me xD
My current VC army consists of a massive... nil. Got the book though, and a battalion + some undead doggies ordered and expected to arrive any time soon. I've got no heroes/lords ordered so im using a rather nice scenic base i made as a proxy for one until I actually get a model to put on it.
Lookin forward to startin paint logs and coming up with nefarious tactics for slaughtering my mate Phil's demons. Which I hear are a bitch to play against with VC but meh i like a challenge

Im also rather pleased this name wasn't taken already

Welcome all! and vladimir, I did the whole tyrranid to vampires cross, and I'll say once you get over the new phase, its pretty much the same :P reaally strong customisable characters and hordes of everything else supported with some tough guys. the tactis IS a little different tough ;P

Hello, I started playing Vampire Counts about 4 Months ago. Before that I was solely into Skaven. What got me into VCs was the combination of Films ( Nosferatu, Army of Darkness, Sleepy Hollow ) and , to be honest, the publishing of the nice and cheap zombies & skeletons by Mantic.
I have my Army painted and based by now ( 2500 pts tournament size ) and will post a few pictures later this day in the paint section.

best regadrds,
Helfrich

Hello everyone! I've just recently got back into Warhammer after a five year break from it. I used to paint space marines (really badly) and played Mordheim a bit. I got back into Warhammer when a friend started collecting Dwarves. Having forgotten most of the rules and stratagem I hope to find some hints and tips on your pages. Hopefully along with some painting tips as I need them :)

Greetings fellow nightdwellers.

I have been collecting Warhammer for the bigger part of my life now, but due to a low number of fantasy players (0) in my area, most has been theoryhammer for when that day comes that more players pick up fantasy (or dust them off). Well, that day has come, and so I decided to join the forums to discuss my theoretical knowledge with people who have some more in game experience (esp. with 8th edition).

Greetings Lords and Ladies of the night, allow me to introduce myself.

I am The Keeper; hidden away in the deepest vaults of Castle Drakenhof charged with managing the unworldly affairs and scribe to the masters i serve.

I have been collecting warhammer for some years now to many to recall the exact number. Being a fan of vampires i was naturally drawn to there call and history of the von Carstein bloodline. I have a moderate sized army, trying not to buy more than i can paint..... yeah right(opens a fresh box of grave guard).

Look forward to meeting you all around the forum :vampire3:

Hi folks. Introductions- name Hairyjeff description- see name
It's possible that i may be one of the more mature players on the forum, since I've been playing wargames for over 40 years.... and my painting still sucks. In those years, I have amassed a rather large selection of armies, but have now only got about 4000 p[oints VC, 5000 skaven, 1500 ogres(but they're all old metal),1500 lizards, 4000 dwarves, 6000 tyrannids and 3000 spece marines.I'm an old re-enactor, so know more than is healthy about edged weapons- and I'm a martial arts geek. I'm in sussex, U.K., so hopefully I'll see some of you around. Luck. jeff

Hello counts, dukes barons and baronesses.

I'm Tim I'm getting back to the hobby after a long break.
I Started with the lizardmen - bretonia starter set years and years back, my brother took the lizardmen and started building his army from there. I didn't like the bretonia so they got sold of to some one who played them. Reading from the books there were 2 army's that got my attention, Chaos and Undead.
So I started really playing and collecting the game with the Undead army.
Years of collecting and playing I found I have too much, choas (daemons, warriors beast-men, undead (now vc & tc) dogs of war 40k orks, chaos and tyranids. At some point I lost interest in the game and hobby and everything got put in moving boxes.
So lately been sorting out what I have and decided I will keep and play My VC and Orks and figure out what I do with the rest later.
I had so much going on that most of it was left unpainted so this is what im doing now. Planning my units out and painting the VC units now 1 by one.
I have done now about 60+ zombies (only need to do the bases) 90-100 skeletons (just need to spray it with some matt varnish) And started working on 40 ghouls.
I have been lurking here now for a few weeks, the painting section was a good way to keep me inspired and got me to plan things out.
At some point hope to contribute and inspire others with my ideas, pictures and posts.
Besides warhammer I'm interested in all kinds of music, art, gadgets, games, series and movies. People find me easy to get along with and a nice guy. I'm from Holland, live in Rotterdam but was born in The Hague and lived most my life in The Hague and a small town called Alphen aan den Rijn. Now I live with my gf in Rotterdam and work in ICT sector.
Oke To much text already for most people to finish, so just want to say drop me a line if you want to know more.
Cheers, Tim

Hi folks,
After playing Warhammer 40k many years ago and painting on and off for a while, I've decided to finally make my first expedition into the world of fantasy Warhammer. Always had a thing for vampire counts and have now succumbed to the darkness!
Cheers
Al

Greeting My Ladies an Gentlemen please allowed me to introduce myself: my name is Prometeo, I'm a 24 years old Italian student (I'm studying logic, epistemology and history of science); I like music, play and listen, specially Rock'n'Roll (I'm a drummer), I play Vampire the Masquerade Live (so you can understand why I'm here) and Warhammer Fantasy since the 6th edition with Lizardmen; I like reading, swimming, and weightlifting. I think I was boring enough to define this a good presentation xD, I wish you well.

Hello Fanged ones

I'm new to this site, as I accidentally just discovered it when I googled the new Terrorgheist rules for my Legions of Nagashizzar project for 8th ed.

I haven't played as much for the last 3-4 years, but have played (and GM'ed) GW's games since the mid 80's.

I play VC (my main army), as well as Warriors of Chaos (Tzeentch, Slaanesh & Undivided only), and I have armound 2k of Orks & Goblins as well and have recently started to build myself a 2250 pts Skaven army.

Looks like an interesting site, and I will do my best to be an active member.

-Cheers
