I'm back. Again. Despite being very tempted by Chaos Dwarves I looked upon the vastness of the void (in my wallet) and saw darkness upon the face of the deep (about twenty pence in loose change). Revamping my Vamps is a much more achievable project as I'll only have to buy and churn out one or maybe two new Core units before I can get into big fun things.

Greetings from Italy!
I'm Velgarn and i started to play WHFB back in the '98 with Lizardmen.

With the 7th edition i was fascinated by the new vampire counts models, plus i'm a huge fan of Zombie stuff.

Now i have like 2500 points of vampire counts and some of them are converted model from other things, like:

My Varghulf is a reconverted Balrog from the Lotr gw model, that i got as a present from a friend of mine

I created some Carin Wraith using Empire Flagellants and zombie stuff

Converted some bretonnian Knights to Black Knights (skeleton/zombie/flagellants stuff all around)

Empire wizard + Flagellants stuff + Vampire counts stuff = Cool necromancer

Converted a unit of greatswords into zombies plus 3 Wight Kings (one with sword and shield, one with great weapon and one BSB)

Converted an 6th edition daemonette to a vampirelord

And a LOT of zombies using.. well everything i got my hands on.. like empire troops, greatswords, flagellants.. even a skink!
I have like 75 zombies, more or less.

Plus i got few hero models from other games, but mostly i use GW stuff in my army (and the vampire lord from Avatars of War, that is pretty nice)

I also play Mordheim with Undeads

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have a good collection already. You might want to post it in The Dark Art (painting/modelling) section for us to look at, and we'll be able to help beat your army into shape. If it can have a shape, anyway. Happy gaming!

Hi guys my name is spunge. I have been collecting warhammer for about 4-5 years now and started with space marines (as a lot of people do!) had a Tau army for a while and eventually got the push to try fantasy and never looked back! Started with the dwarfs and then moved to Ogres. This year im starting on a Vampire Counts army. For along time i have been wanting to start a VC army and im finally getting around to it! Hopefully i should get some progress posts up soon. Thanks guys!

I'm Jonathan, just got back into WH after a way too long break. I started a VC army three days ago ive always loved vampires, monsters etc and the VC fluff. I'm here to make friends and hopefully get some modeling and army list advice prior to the first deployment!

Hi all,

Just starting 8th edition fantasy after a looooooong hiatus, probably since 4-5 edition last time I played...

Anyway will be asking some questions here and there. Nice to meet everyone!

Hi all from Spain, blood brothers!

I've just restarted playin, I've been out of the game for a few years. Pleased to meet such a great forum for the lords of the night! :konrad:

Hello Carpe Noctem

I'm a long time beastmen player who finally got sick of failing leadership tests and has turned to vamps.

I have an army list query which I'll be posting shortly

Looking forward to the banter

Hi Guys and Gals,

Long time no see :D

I think it's been well over 12 months since I have been on CN so not sure if the same people are running the show as what I remember but I hope that you are all well.

I haven't been on for that amount of time as I haven't played Warhammer in that amount of time. As a lot of us do, I just lost the passion for it. The group of mates that I play with all pretty much was over Warhammer so we decided to do some D&D style role playing sessions for awhile, which is what we first did before we started with Warhammer about 10 years ago.

But today we decided it was time to give Warhammer another go, so we played some 1,000 pts games. It was a bit messy, as it had been so long since we had played and we kept getting things mixed up between the 8th edition rules and the previous 7th edition (I think when we first started playing 10 years ago it was 6th edition) so the games took ages as we were constantly having to look things up and double check things. At first, I didn't really enjoy it, in fact it reminded me as to why I had stopped playing: 8th edition sucks, and they nerfed the VC with the changes they made. I didn't do great but not the worst either, and the important thing is that by the end of our second game (which was armies of VC, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and Orcs all fighting each other) I was enjoying it again and am looking forward to our next session. Plus my mate gave me some really good advice about a much better kit for my Vamp to keep her alive next time - Vamp - Aura Of Dark Majesty, Beguile, Dread Knight, in a unit that has the Screaming Banner. Looking forward to trying it out next time!

Another thing which was nice (and both sad), was our mate who hosts the games wife said to us that it was really nice that we were there all together playing Warhammer on that day (today), as 8 years ago our mate's younger brother tragically drowned on that day and we were all there at their place playing Warhammer when they got the sad call that he was missing. She said it meant a lot to them to see that 8 years later the friendships are still there going strong, so that was nice.

Anyways, time for me to shut up, hopefully it won't as long between visits next time!

Welcome back! I'm pleased you decided to come back to Warhammer and Carpe Noctem. You just have to make the best of what the Vampires have, and hopefully you continue to enjoy the gaming.
Welcome to the others I have not been able to individually welcome!

Hey Everyone,

I'm still very fresh to the whole warhammer scene. but i am loving what i have done so far. I came into it thinking i would just get into the modeling/painting side of it, but the more i look into it the game side is grabbing my attention to.

I wouldnt call my army large or anything like that, started with some black knights, it wasn't long after that, that i got Konrad Von Carstein and 5x skeletons, and recently I picked up some Vargheists and a Cairn wraith (still needs painting), then i got a gift of a Vampire Counts Battalion which should keep my busy for a while building up and painting.

i've been kinda stalking these forums for a while, mostly checking out the painting section, so i thought I might as well set up an account.

Look forward to talking to all of yas!

Greetings All! I joined the forum a few months back when I first started collecting Vampire Counts but have not gotten around to posting or contributing yet so I figured it was about time. I was first exposed to the VC years ago by a friend and instantly fell in love with the lore for the Necrarchs and Blood Dragons (back when they emphasized the different bloodlines) and I am building my army themed around a Necrarch lord. I am excited to start learning from the community!

Hi Everyone, HammerOfMorgoth here.

I am a dedicated 40k player with tau and space marines, but was inspired by the cool conversions in my old back issue White Dwarfs to start the VC xD. please message me if you need a conversion idea as I have a very disease-ridden and twisted mind :devil2:.

Yours in UnDeath, and death to the men of Numenor,

HammerOfMorgoth

p.s.: message me if you have a way to defeat Luthor Huss, he's killing me!

Hello all, and welcome to the forum! I hope you all enjoy it, and if you need any help, don't hesitate to send any of the mods a PM!

Loving the name, by the way, Hammer ;)

Hey,

I'm Enkiel, and despite signing up a loong time ago, i never managed to get my VC army started.

Now that i've since finished an Ogre Kingdoms army, a Nurgle Carnival army, a Dark Eldar army, a Grey Knights army and a Dark Elf army (phew), i think its time to re-consider Vampires.

I have ideas on how to present my army (paint and conversion wise), but i can't settle on a list... which is where i'm hoping you guys will be able to help!.

Hi this is my first post here.
I am a humble long time but seldom time 40k (I've known the game for over 20 years but not played much) player who's touched upon whfb at times but want to try it out for real, atleast alittle bit :)
(I collect adeptas sororitas in 40k becasue I am stark raving maaaad!)

Back in what I think was 6th ed I got a small army of vampire counts Lahmia bloodline but never got the army out of the crypt so to speak. I should have both Neferata and the old Lahmia with serpent crown in my basement plus the two second gen lahmia on foot and on horse.
To me "fluff" and fun are the things that matter, but I hope to win sometimes and paint my characters nicely too. Looking to start an evil but comical whfb army and vampires are my #1 choice followed by mad skaven inventors and then goblins with a "gork komplex".

I hope to make my decision by the end of march and I like the fluffy potential of VC more than skaven and even more than goblins.
Please convince me that a coven of scheeming, blood drinking, death worshipping noble women who's plans often fail will be a fun theme for a fantasy army. :)

;)
