@ Santa, thanks! I had an idea for an undead wood elf spirit army a while back and converted up a bunch half tree / half spirit wood elves. Decided to just use them for spirit hosts until I can find the time to finish the army.

@Tawg - It is all metallics and washes. Boltgun + black wash + chainmail highlights + mithril.

Excellent freehand on the GG banner! I love the bone color of their armor, it goes very well with the purple.
The spirit hosts make me want to quit painting. You have done such an amazing job with the highlights and I like the addition of the floating skull.
Pat yourself on the back, you've done some outstanding work!

@ Seneschal - Thank you for the compliments! I'm glad you like the color combinations, I was a little hesitant at first but it seems to be working out really well.

anyways nice zombies but one main distraction that catches my eyes is with the black hands on the standard. it looks unfinished or were you going for a wrought iron look.

Here is another small update, a pair of ghouls!

I had the realization that there is no way I'm going to be able to paint the all the zombies / skeletons I'd need for the core of my army. I'm on a strict time schedule, need to get these guys done for a tournament in November. I'm not really a fan of ghoul's 10 point cost, but it cuts my core model count in half so I guess I'll have to make them work =).

Nice looking ghouls too, if you do a unit of them up we have a ghoul challenge in July you should enter.

So how did you achieve the pale skin tone?

As for the skin tone...

1. Rotting Flesh
2. Devlin Mud wash
3. Rotting Flesh
4. Rotting Flesh + White (50/50)
5. Rotting Flesh + White (90 /10) for extra special highlights.

I'm working hard on ghouls at the moment but I thought I'd post a pic of my new vampire lord!

I think I need to change the pose of his sword arm, it looks a little bit off. I put it like that so he could rank up easier, but maybe there is another pose I can get to work. As always, thanks for looking and comments and criticism is always welcome.
