My 3 cav standards, all within a BK bus, all with a Nightshroud escort. I think the Nightshroud is one of the best magic items in all of Warhammer, seriously consider it in every list because the value and protection it offers your lord is unmatched. Same with Beguile when paired with Aura of Dark Majesty, of even if it stands alone.
1. Lv.4 LoVampires (80% of the time)
Red Fury, Quickblood, Beguile
Heavy Armor, Barded Steed, Shield
Dragonhelm, Ironcurse, Ogre Blade, 4+ Ward
This one sports a 1+ AS, 2+ vs. Fire, 4+ Ward base, with 6+ vs. Warmachines. You don't have OTS, but you shouldn't be hunting things with wards anyway. This is also my favorite because the theme for my VC is undead High Elves, so the lord is still wearing his Dragon Armor (but with a hint of Blood Dragon!).
2. Lv.4 LoVampires (20% of the time)
Red Fury, Quickblood, Beguile
Heavy Armor, Barded Steed, Shield
Ogre Blade, 4+ Ward, OTS
This one is your standard 2+/4++, but you have a way to get around ward saves; namely if your meta demands character removal, or has a lot of Phoenix Guard.
3. Lv.4 LoVampires (specifically meta dependent)
Red Fury, Quickblood, Beguile
Lance, Heavy Armor, Barded Steed, Shield
Black Peripat, 4+ Ward
This gets around things like BotWD, and gives you magic superiority on the same fighter lord. No special tricks here really, but you will not be able to hurt high-toughness things in prolonged combat.
