Well, she's all finished. The base is completed and the pictures have been sent into for the contest.

Pretty good in my book for a first round at some armor.

Yup, the crew came with the tank. I actually have a third creman for the tank as well; it's an extra I picked up by Alpine Miniatures. It's a German SS Panzer Division crewman holding a puppy. Great model, just not sure how I'd encorporate it into the current peice.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I hope I do well in the contest; it's certainly been a learning experience. Next up, I'm working on my GB entry, which I really wish I could show on here, but I can't.

However, my next project is urgent: it's my Father's Day Present to my dad! He loved the tank I just completed, so I'm going to make an M1A1 Abrams tank with mine plow on the front of it. He loves Abrams; and this one will fit nicely on his desk at work. I'll post pics up soon.

Love the idea for the present.

So, Golden Bat entries are in no way to be shared with the population? I was considering entering my Christmas in July model as well. I suppose people are going to have to be without a great deal of updates from me until after the Golden Bat period as all I will be working on from now and till then will be entries.

I have the sads.

I imagine there will be a fair bit of stagnation on the painting logs?

Nope, they're not supposed to be shared. I feel bad as well as I'd really like some feedback on my own progress of my stuff as I work, but I would also love to give feedback to others as well. I think I'm going to bring it up to the fellow mods. I'll keep you in the loop.

It's strong, but it's just as delicate as spiderweb so you have to be a bit gentle on it. You shouldn't have anything touch it or it could ruin the effect. I'm only going to be using it on display pieces or possibly well-protected gaming ones.

The entire process is different and requires you to move quickly as the stuff will clog the airbrush in a heartbeat.

I took some water and put it in my airbrush cup and then poured a little bit of Krakelee in there and ran some air through my brush. I started from very low on pressure until I could literally hear some whistling start and web forming. Once you hit that mark, it's the sweet spot! Use only a little of this stuff because I put waaaaaaaaaaaay too much into the cup to start out with.

Make sure you clean your airbrush extra well after using this stuff. It clogs like no other!!

Who needs an excuse? Just knock it out onto a model! I have a new model I'll be posting here tonight, well actually a few. I'm tackling TMM, or True Metallic Metals, in this new figure I'm doing. It's an undead Chaos Warrior!

Upon putting the Krakelee (with a little bit of water firs) in the airbrush, I went for a very liberal spraying of the tree. You won't notice it at first, but the webs will build up fast. After only a few seconds of spraying, your "target" will have a nice bit of web all over it, just like the real thing!

If need be, you can collect stray strands that went afloat on models you need. You can spray it on at any point, preferablly once the model is completed, but can actually use it to replace web that has blown away due to its fragile characteristics. If you need to handle it, you can just use a pencil or a pen to help direct strands.

Haha, no worries. It's a German crackle varnish. I had never heard of it myself, but it's great stuff!

I really appreciate the feedback I've been getting.

I made further progress tonight on my undead Chaos Warlord. I want to capture that moment where he's just coming back to being animated again. The spider webbing will go along the outskirts of the base, lightly enshrouding his helmet. I thought about putting some of it on him as well, as in the teeth of his armor and even sections of his cloak. We'll see though.

Currently the metallics are incredibly bright but they'll be toned down significantly as I work the glazes and washes. I figure I might as well start bright as I can always get darker.

That spider web gave me the chills. Just looking at the picture I thought it was real!!!

Since no one else has asked, I will...

Whats the difference between true metallic metals, and say...the way Santa and I do our metals? (A metallic paint followed by a wash)
