Am I the only one who thinks he is operating a cotton candy machine or something? I adore your painting and the basejob on him but really do not like the webbing. It seems way to thick and there is a bit to much of it. Still the rest of the model is pure breath taking brilliance ;)

Good evening ladies and gents,

With my Abyssal Warlord nearly complete, I've moved my attention to a different subject. It's a bit of a personal joke for me as I actually attended a Catholic school that was headed by a priest and nuns.

I give you "Twisted Sister":

The whites are in a yellow cream for the time being, but will be worked up to a more of a bleached titanium look. I want the whites of her cowl and such to have some depth and subtle grime to the white. She's missing her arm that is holding a crunchy snack: a human hand.

It's the first bust I have ever done so I'm taking some baby steps on this one.

Wow, I've missed a lot of updates! He's progressed really well and I love the armour. I wouldn't mind seeing some close-ups of the skin work but I know how tricky they can be. I'm not too sure on the web either. I really love the concept of an awakening and pulling away from cobwebs, they just ;look a tad heavy on the hand.

Also, how complete is the cloak on the back? I like the flayed skin a lot but the weather black I think might need weathering some more. Perhaps really fade the colour out from the hem at the bottom.

As for the Nun, she looks hot! :perv: Really like the skin tones so far and I can envisage how the titanium white will look when you get there. Keep us updated bud!

I haven't even started mine. I've not picked by brushes up in over a month and I can honestly say it's starting to get to me a bit! Still, not long till work eases off!

For the web on my guy, I actually took off the big chunk under his arm. It's much more natural now. In person, the weathering on the cloak is more defined, but I'll have to go in and really exaggerate it some more so that the camera will pick it up.

Get on that submission, bud!!!

This model normally really isn't my thing, but it's incredibly different and will force me to try new things. It's growing on me :).

Anyways, I made some further progress on the sister tonight!

I went to town doing the detail work like the pupils and such. I also brought some more white in the areas around her head so I could gauge the overall tone.

As always, C&C is appreciated especially as this is my very first bust!

Haha, yes, that's because the bloating and change that has occurred on here has taken away all of the soft features normally associated with a female.

Well I've been swamped at work lately but made some more progress. I added a bit more blue to the flesh to get the skin to look a bit more lifeless.

Also got her fitted for a plinth as well. I'll be painting the rod black.

Both were incredibly fun to paint and both were steps towards improvement on my part in regards to trying new techniques. The spider web was accomplished by following a technique from this site of talented artists: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2011/12/tutorial-realistic-spiderwebs.html.

I dunno red. I loath putting him back in the mail. I happen to love him and you can only see the damage if you really turn the model around. He now stands in his case next to my trophys and game camera. :thumbsup:
 
Well I'm going for three entries to this GB. This lovely boy needs to get done as he's been sitting on my shelf for far too long. I'm looking to get a really eerie feel for the horse's flesh: I want it to look familiar, but not.

Anyways, this one is going to a friend as well. Jimmy likes ponies.
