RE: Dragon Legion Painting Project Pic Heavy Added Hellstead
Yes it is. I tried the wash u suggested on the next vampire I was doing then decided I didnt want him as the mount for the hellsteed. So now he is getting a horse, and Im ussing a rider from the winged nightmare for the hellstead. SO gotta start painting the rider all over soon as I get him cleaned and primered. But ill have another mounted Blood Dragon up in a day or two. I so cant wait to start on the xgamers stuff. But still got alot of other things to keep me occupied.
RE: Dragon Legion Painting Project Pic Heavy Added Hellstead
I like the colours in your painting. You also seem to be able to paint eyes very well! Whenever I try to paint eyes it makes them seem insane; yours just look good
RE: Dragon Legion Painting Project Pic Heavy Added Hellstead
Thanks Uga Bug the eyes was a hard thing to learn to do, but the mini's just dont look finished without them. That is like my third try at the screaming banner Im glad you feel its spooky, as if a almost living banner.
Current projects, I currently finished the Blood dragon I was going to use on the hellsteeds nightmare. Ill have pics of the mounted blood dragon soon. I lost intrest in the hellsteeds rider so he was put aside for now. Finished a doom bull yesterday that sat on my table for 2 weeks, and am now starting again on a black knight with ax that I had mostly finished before being distracted by something else to paint. Also found a skeleton with a m -16 to paint up. Its gw circa 84 plan to use him in my skeleton regiment for comic relief. Even working on a tie in fluff for him.
Painting only undead gets a little boring at times. So along with the undead army we are finishing we are playing around working on the Thunder Mountain Tride our ogre army. So here they are.
These are some nice models, the arabian maneater in particular looks great. Is this the start of this army? Good work There are some photos missing though or is it just me?
Ya the gorger didnt appear at first sorry not sure why but he is there now with a little fix. It is the start of a army, currently painting a imperial maneater too. We actaully in our game room have a shelf for each of the armies in both fantasy and 40k. They all are in various stages of completion some painted some primered and many unassembled. But yes we are tinkering with the ogre army now. Along with my vampire army.
Me and my wife are a painting team. I do many of the undercoatings and she does all of the details. The banner is flat we figured the ogre's wouldnt be good artists. So we based the painting style off of old cave drawings.
well no idea where the army is going really I just have a list of the mini's Im slowly getting and painting pretty much each one plus some from other componies but thanks for your comments it is appretaited and welcomed. RE: Dragon Legion Painting Project Pic Heavy Added Hellstead
Alright Since my ogres invaded the land of painting undead, I did manage to finish basing a few undead i had to base.
Necarch Vampire with Scroll I paint them pasty as the old nosferatu films. For in my eyes the scholar vampires would hardly see the moonlight of the world. He looked better on the table the pic didnt do him well.
RE: Dragon Legion Project Updated 7-8-10 PIc Heavy
Random Necromancer from the past painted these 2 years ago. Thought it be fun to post them.
Alright a update on painting currently have the hellsteed finished and based will post pictures tommarow. Along with that I have a mounted blood dragon and hell knight to post too.
Currently am assembling a few more items for x gamers including a corpse cart with a monthy python theme(never go wrong with monty python.)
Then currently am painting my 100 zombies with blood splatter. That should keep me busy till xgamers gotta fight the urg to paint the other models reserve to it.
Out look on the 12000 pt hoard for the halloween march of the dead good. Death to the living. (mostly dwarves and humans)
RE: Dragon Legion Project Updated 7-11-10 PIc Heavy
Thanks Nikostratus for the compliment, now here are my other freinds I added to my army.
Imperial Guard Skeleton who crashed landed on the warhamer world(twin tailed commet of sigmar's days.) lain dead for centuries and now raises at the command of the undead masters. To march to war once more.
My hellstead who's front shot was blurry ill retake it and add it latter. But overall he turned out very well I feel personally.
My hellknight with ax
Blood Knight with Lance was origianlly my hellsteed rider but I felt the winged nightmare rider worked better. This one looks better on a horse anyways.
Like I said before my current project is mainly zombies so when they are all finished Ill do a group shot of them. But the brush does wander much like a kender. So who knows what might be painted.
I like the blood knight on a hellsteed, if you want a really easy and effective method of painting skeletons i just paint mine bleach bone, devlan mud wash, dry brush bleach bone, dry brush skull white, watered down delun mud over the top, done
That's a bit more involved than my method. What I do is base coat them black, dry brush bleached bone, and then wash mud. (My tomb kings go the exact same except they get dry brushed bone, then white, then washed sepia. But thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks boo it is always appretiated, and no problem logan, I always appretiated the suggestion's. Not sure when I can update again, there is alot of zombies to paint.
ah zombies... they are a joy to both build and paint imo. But can be a bit boring after a while...
but santawraith, have you thought about entering the golden bat competition? Why not convert some zombies and paint them up and join in the competition?
