This is my ghoul project thus far. Please remember I have some of my 200 ghouls already done. So really it's just rounding it out. 56 done from past experiments.

So after dark clad hitting the floor and breaking again, I figured I should really remember to take WIP shots of him. Here is the first:
All the highlighting and shadows done on the fabric. I was going for a simultaneous worn and decadent look. Think I got it?

Nurgle plaguebearers make nice mutated ghouls. You have to convert them a bit. I have made one, but it took me some time

Yeah, it was the most difficult part, to make him look less daemonic

I love unit fillers, so here are some Ghoul unit fillers ideas:
1) Ghouls eating. Simple, but effective! Bloody human parts everywhere (legs, arms, guts etc). You can use a 40mm base and have 2 ghouls(even 1, or more than 2 if you want) feasting or fighting for the "delicacies".
2) Ghouls coming out of a crypt and/or maybe around it (That's my favorite!). As mentioned earlier Garden of Morr terrain pieces are very good unit fillers. Also, i've bought some great Crypt minis from Armorcast. You can paint something like, a crack in the crypt's wall and cut a ghoul in half, make it look like it's coming out of the wall. You can cheat a bit at this part. Just find a photo of a crack in a wall and print it, make sure it is the right size. Glue it on the wall and paint it.
3) Ghouls coming out of holes in the ground. A bit tricky, as you need to give some height to your bases, or do some heavy basing work! Some cork here and there to create the illusion of depth.
4) If you have the frightened, running citizen from the Giant plastic kit, you can use him to create a mini diorama. Ghouls chasing him.
5) A Witchunter fighting his way through hordes of ghouls!

Well, the ghouls were originally tribes from around Nagashizzar. Maybe you can add Mutated shaman performing some ritual, or some ghouls around fireplace

If you recall a little while back Santa, I had some robed/cultist ghouls made from a flagellant/ghoul kit bash. Flaggie bodies/legs for the robes, ghoul arms and heads.
Kroot bits are always good for spicing things up too (meat on hooks, funky knives, etc.) and by way of unit fillers, I'm looking at pedestals topped with flames etc. Also, I've always been tempted by the strigoi imagery to do a banquet table with suitably grizzly food and ghouls seated along it as a mockery of a high court. Maybe with a strigoi seated at the head of the table?

Haha, helllooooo Fluffy. He looks exactly like my cat that still lives at my parent's house: Moses.
Skin is looking great on Vlad so far. Make sure to use plenty of contrast with the pale skin, especially in the recesses of the model (jawline, eye cavities, etc).

Like I said, it's just the start of it. Planned on shading the skin still, and adding some warmth to it. I figure he's an Anne rice style vampire, so with as pale as he is he's a few centuries old at least.
