So this morning…
I came out of the bedroom from getting dressed to discover that Tina had tried to help me paint. It wasn’t bad except that it was a commission piece, and the chaps were camo green and the hat turquoise. And she spilled my green glaze.I don’t know whether to be proud of her brush control or mortified she did it to a commission piece.



Here was my reaction.



And here he is all cleaned up.



Here is the Sundance Kid. At least that’s who he reminds me of.

hehe yes she is one of my future elves but needs to learn to paint when given permission too not on her own.

Love how you say it there sounds better to me.

the days of no sleep I don't miss them my kids sleep through the night mostly now mostly.

Fatherhood is a great adventure but with so many interesting things one never considers.

In order to do justice to a tyranid commission I’ve got, I’m doing a test figure of hive fleet Leviathan. Figured I’d write you a tutorial while I’m doing it.
Start with a white primer.


A basecoat of screaming skull (aka bleached bone) and then a wash of purple.


Next a nice through drybrush of GW’s dry terminatus stone.


Paint the carapace black.



Paint the edge of the armor plates naggaroth night. Highlight with GW’s edge paint, dechala lilac. At the sharpest points highlight with creamier white.



Some minor details and done.



Last because I feel like it. Boobs.

Thanks bigbadbat, the nid was just a test figure for a commission trevigon I have. Currently working on him today. Yes you should step up the game in the challenge as I plan to dominate all someday with my painting. One can dream can they not



Ahh well I am only doing one large one this week, well see if he has me do more for him.

I was in town today, doing some Christmas shopping and getting ready to attend some parent teacher conferences for our two preschoolers. James (Santawraith) was at home minding the girls so I didn’t have to worry about kids finding out what they got.

When he told me about what happened at the Elementary school in Connecticut I was stunned. I sat in my car and just stared at my daughters school, and tried to imagine my life if something thy tragic happened to her.



I couldn’t imagine life without any one of my girls. It’s just… It’s impossible to imagine. My heart is breaking for the parents facing the loss of a child, especially at this time of year.



Here are some more pictures I’ve gleaned off Facebook or that have been sent to me.







The first thing I did when I got home was give my girls hugs.

That Tyranid color scheme has to be one of the hardest to do. I've tried and failed miserably. But yours look amazing

One gaunt takes about, 3 hours each well takes me that. Gene stealers are about a hour each.
