RE: Let's See Your Banners

Nightmare Legion Banner with Vitruvian Skeleton and text:
Nella tentazione
Cercando la gloria
Il prezzo da pagare
E' la caduta dell'uomo

"Into temptation
In search of glory
The price we pay
The fall of man"

A different Nightmare Legion banner, with two skulls and text:

Ennio Mordini
Renzo Avanti

Forsan et
Haec Olim
Meminisse
Iuvabit

"Perhaps someday we will look back upon these things with joy."

Black knight banner, skeleton design.

Black knight banner, skull design with text:
Eram Quod
Es
Eris Quod
Sum

"I was what you are, you will be what I am"

Skeleton Standard bearer. I love this model to bits but the ragged banner offers no opportunity for a nice design. So I did it white with a green rim as if it once were a wood elf banner, or something.

Another skeleton banner with hand design on one side and a skull on the other side with text:

Mors Ultima Ratio

"Death is the final accounting"

All banners (bar the green/white skeleton one) were made from lead foil from old wine bottles. Painted khaki (Vallejo Model Colour), drybrushed with khaki + white. Then I drew and painted on the design with paint and a technical drawing pen, and then I washed the whole banner with Devlan Mud.

RE: Let's See Your Banners

My three standard bearers. The 6th ed Skeleton is the oldest - repaited a few times. Zombies are newer and heavily converted using various bits and green stuff(I have better pics of them in Zombies post page 3). The 7th ed Skeleton is my most recent.

RE: Let's See Your Banners

Pil, those banners are marvellous. In fact, I like the whole army. It's probably the most medieval-looking one I've seen - something about all those old-school figures and the very simple scheme and man, those banners. It's not just the parchments, it's the sentiments they express. Straight out of the period. I salute you.

[Santawraith]

We were looking for the banner of the barrows, I know we did one of the suggestions before. Well we found it, and I took some of my little skills I’ve learned since then to improve it. Enjoy.

[Ado]

My simple banner design - still needs some finishing touches I feel....

[Johnny-Crass]

I go to this thread to drool a bit if we are being honest

[Santawraith]

Hey that makes my minis wet you will need to clean that up.

Nice banner ado I love it

[Dibidoolandas]

I wanna post pics of all these skellies but I'm too damned slow with them... Only have 4 so far. Anyways, here's their banner. Tough space to paint on since it's so thin and tattered.

[Johnny-Crass]

..... I wish I could freehand half as good as you.... Fantastic

[Santawraith]

That is a very nice skull very impressive
Great banned bearer

[Baron Samedi]

My pygmy banners (and a musician)

My new BSB

The rest of my banners are currently being reworked. Bur these I'm quite happy with.

[Infernal Skull]

Here are my latest banners for the Legion of the Infernal Skull:

I Just put up a tutorial on how I make 'em.

[Infernal Skull]

Those are some fantastic looking units and banners, Pil. How fragile is the wine bottle foil? Does it bend easily once you have it in place and painted?

[Mr Saturday]

Some great banners here. Pil, Rob, lovely stuff lads, lovely. I'm always happy to see some new bits for the legion of the infernal skull.

It's been a while since I've worked on my VC, but here's some banners from the older units:

[xFallenx]

Wow, there are some seriously amazing banners in here, the freehand stuff blows my mind.

[Burnanation]

xFallenx said what I wanted, these things blow my mind. Great job, please keep inspiring me to do better.
