I may or may not have posted these, but since they were out to play today...

I used the barding bits left over from my hexwraiths and plopped them on my old old 4th edition skeleton horesmen horses.

The Lord is the Zombie Dragon rider on a Chaos Steed, posted somewhere else.

Aww jeesh man, I don't remember exactly how I did it. I posted him up sometime last year in the Show Us Your Vampire Lord thread - the recipt MAY be there. But it was something like base coat black, blood red, then like 3 or 4 washes of of black, then dry brushed and highlighted chainmail. Then I sprinkled some bicarbonate soda to make it look like some snow was on him.

I don't have much experience with the new washes, but this lools pretty cool. Everytime I try a mail/red armor, it looks like shit I'll try it your way. Thank you!

Just finished mine. Standard GW issue because I actually like that part of GW's range. Except for the feet. Someone need to teach that scuptor how feet are supposed to look.

I can certainly try.
Let's see if the weather is acceptable tomorrow and I'll make an attempt at rigging something up.
I'm still new to photographing miniatures.

Whelp. I tried. New pictures weren't much better than the old ones.
Two things learned;
1) Apparently I own NOTHING that is mono-coloured.
2) Photographing miniatures is kinda hard

Hell Knight is still my favorite. I imagine him looking down on some foolhardy challenger

He carries a shield from the Von Carstein conversion pack to make him stand out. That, and his head is on fire.
The rest of the Knights share his colour scheme, minus the fire.

The two books used as background are appropriately enough old warhammer lore books.

you could try dark cloth as background. like a bedsheet or something.
nothing laquered or shiny.
what offsets now, i think may be the board that is white, reflecting light/flash.
you want domething that 'soak' light.
and background is seldom enough, surface needs also to be dark or at least not white and/or shiny.
im super green on miniature photograph, just sharing own experiences
and yes, it is hard

to knights:
the champ is really cool, I totally see him like you. 'you challenge me? alright, you will join our ranks then'
whole unit is awesome, elvating lances spells doom for whoever gets hit.

Fair points. I might have to put future models on a dark book or a piece of dark clothing for that.
I'll give it a try once I finish my next ones, whatever they'll be. Probably Grave Guards.

Thank you. My VC collection is small but growing. Currently I only have a few units; 120 zombies (including a zombie greenskin unit)and 40 skeletons.

Also 7 characters, because there's far more cool character sculpts than there are cool models for rank and file

Working on 20 Grave Guard right now which I'll probaly ignore once all the parts for my counts-as Mortis Engine comes in (ghost giant carrying the necromantic remains of a undying warlord)

Wow! I am almost speechless after browsing through this thread. So many awesome conversions and painting schemes!

This makes me wish I hadn't given my converted zombie knights to my brother ages ago. Perhaps he's still got them.. (Desperately need to check)!

I'm about to paint my knights soon, but they will simply be the standard unit speedpainted in black and red to fit in with the rest of the army.

I wanted to give my Black Knights a real feeling of age. To make them match my rusted, faded, mildew-grown Skeletons .

My first atempt to make a Black Knight, even though the basing isnt done. I am still contemplating adding rust effects and adding glowing eye sockets.

Ustrello: I have a feeling rhat when I finally get down to t he bunker for our game that our armies will have a very ... united feel. The paint scheme on those knights is pretty much exactly how mine are starting to look lol
