Great stuff Blackwolf - how did you get the white on the bone so smooth? The shields and the bases are awesome too!

Thanks heaps for the praise guys, I'm very glad you enjoyed them. The bones were pretty easy. The steps were...
Black undercoat.
Dheneb Stone basecoat (this was done with an airbrush).
Wash with 1:1 mix of Devlan Mudd and water, making sure the wash doesn't pool on the top/back/sides of the skull.
Drybrush Bleached bone
Lighter drybrush 1:1 mix of Bleached Bone and White.
Very light drybrush of White.

I'm no expert on painting, but the important step for me here was getting a smooth basecoat of Dheneb Stone, thus the airbrush came in handy. Also keeping the wash from pooling on the surfaces where the drybrush will target means less work for the drybrush to do.

Anyway, like I said, I'm no expert, but this worked for me. Looking forward to tackling the other 30 Skeletons I have for this unit. I'll post pic's when they're all done, a nice big Skeleton family shot :)

Cheers.

Mat.

Thanks for the reply Wolf! Good little tutorial there - it was clearly worth the effort. They look great! I got my Tomb Kings out to have a look at them last night and for the love of me i cant remember the steps i took to paint them! Oh well

I was beginning to wonder if anybody else out there had the old Cursed Company models. I love my Cursed Company skellies. A blast to paint, aren't they Count H?

SOMEONE's been collecting since several editions ago, I see... really nice those, and the old heavy armoured skellies are cool models. If only we still had the option of heavy armour on them...

Apologies for the poor photo quality, taken with my camera phone as the good one's in the shop.

Love that you snuck the flame design on the gobbo. Definitely the right call.

It's taken me a long time to do these as life keeps throwing up obstacles to painting , but here are my first 10 skellies with another 20 primed and ready to go.. I think I'll go back and touch up the banner and further highlight some of the skellies but pleased enough for now....
