Also, my Winged Vampire Lord (including the Salacious Crumb-esque bat buddy hanging off his shoulder). I followed Untitled Musketeer's excellent tutorial on painting the wing and customized a pimping big base for him to enter into my local gaming club's painting comp.
Hey Darkside,
Great job on the Vamps, partciularly good job on the wing. I don't know about you, but for me that was the hardest bit due to the amount of the model it takes up. I repainted it twice to get it where I wanted it. As for the tutorial, I'm glad you found it useful. Your transitions down the wing are very good indeed and the rich blue of the cape is excellent. Really well done!
Now for some feedback starting with the Vamp on foot.
I like this, it's traditional in the choice of colours and it's cleanly executed. Some small improvements could be made though through the simple application of some washes to really show off the colours. The red on the wasteband and collar would look really good with a glazing wash of red and then thin glazes of blue in the shadows. The blue will really help to make the red that little bit richer.
I also think the skin on this little dude could benefit from a drop of colour. While dead skin would be grey and lifeless you have to remember there is evil magic that keeps these dead beings alive. Consequently a really thin glaze of purple to the recessess would reallyt help to bring the dead skin to life.
As for the winged vamp, I think similarly a little more purple and red glazing to the veins would really make them pop. Again, the red armour would really benefit from some blue shading and some extreme highlights on the very edges.
I know this probably sounds really critical, it really isn't meant to. My comments are only suggestions that you can use/adapt/ignore as you see fit. You've done a great job on both and you should be really proud.
Cheers,
