Name
Katharina Oberholtzer

Character
Gender: Female
Age: 29

Appearance: Both long and slender but not at all attractive. Despite her age her face looks old and worn. Her hair is grey and put up in a tight knot in her neck. She always wears a long dark grey coat.

Personality: She is very stern and dominant.

Background: She was born i the great city of Nuln. Unfortunately her mother died at her birth, which her father, a proud soldier in the State Troop force of the cirty, took very hard. Her father took a new wife shortly after and she bore him four sons, each one with one year apart and the oldest two years younger than Katharina. The second youngest of the brother did however not make it past his first year. Katharina was never accepted by her stepmother, and thus spent a lot of time with her half brothers and her father. Her father retired from the force when she was 7, and worked the remainder of his time as a cobbler, this also let him spend more time with his children. He loved his daughter but did not know how to raise her to become a lady, so she was more of less raised the same way as her half brothers. She therefore learned the arts of swordplay and of marksmanship, it also lead to her join the state force when she became of age, as did her half brothers.
Her father later died when she was 15, on his death bed he gave her a family heirloom, his trusted gunpowder pistol. He had received it from his father, and was to give it to his first born son, but instead gave it to hist first born child. After his death she was no longer welcome in her previous home, her stepmother would not let her in. She instead lived in the barracks but still kept in contact with her brothers.
Several years later, when Katharina was 21 the town went under siege from a rather small undead force, lead by a fierce vampire count. Katharina and her brother were all positioned on the battlements of the city, where they employed handgunds to rid the crawling undead who scaled the walls. Though not even all the handguns in Nuln could stop all the forces from reaching the top, especially not the quick and agile vampire thralls. One of these fearsome warriors leaped up right to her position and started slaying men left and right. All of her brother fell before it's blade and not before long she was the only one left nearby. The vampire had her cornered and with bloodthirst in its eyes it started moving towards her. She searched all around her looking for anything to use in defence, and suddenly found her fathers pistol in her belt. She drew it and fierd, mere moments before the vampire was upon her. The vampire dropped dead, with a large hole where its face should be. Not even such a powerful servant of the undeath could survive the blast of a Nuln pistol fired at point blank.
The battle change Katharina, she was hardened. She mourned the loss of her brothers deeply and a hatred for the evil of the the world was born. Her stepmother took the loss even harder, and shorty passed away from grief. Fuelled by hatred Katharina sought up people who could help her avenge her loss. This eventually lead her to the order of the witch hunters. Her skill with sword and firearm allowed her to quickly earn a place with a witch hunter's retinue. From that day on she has fought evil and the undead in many forms. After many years of service she manage to rose amongst the ranks, and was at the age of 27 promoted to witch hunter herself.

... Or my character for being a feral user of chaos energy... I mean, He definitly has his license... definitely a wizard of the amber order... He just may not sure where his license is... Cause I feel his staff is more important to him then a scroll saying "don't kill me, the emperor is alright with me living."

Careful there, I imagine a witch hunter would not hesitate putting a bullet between your characters eye's if he does not have his license x)

The funny thing is there is no physical license according to the fluff...so how do they prove theyre legitimate o_o

Mad 'at... If I'm not mistaken your character's fear of water is more a fear of large bodies of water then being afraid of a cup of water... It is more of a fear of drowning and the monsters of the deep, and the inability to move normally in water... Also being a pistol expert, it also gets your gunpowder wet which ruins using black powder firearms... Correct? Just seemed people were taking it to a bit of an extreme... Want to make sure I'm not mistaking things...

Well, I was just pointing out that rivers and such, through which vampires cannot pass and are indeed harmful to them - running water, etc - it seems a bit unlucky to have a strong dislike for it xD

Oh right... running water... *facepalm* also, just about done with my character. Only a few small details to finish up on, and I should have it posted.

Then to figure out what I want to work on next...

Name: Edor Dikaft

Character:
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 182 lbs.

Appearance: Edor has a thick build, with very little fat upon him (unless its getting near winter... then he tends to bulk up some). He wears cloths made from hides and furs stitched together with the sinew of animals. On his head is the head of a bear, worn as a hat, and with the rest of the pelt coming down as a sort of cloak. Tied onto some leather sashes are some hide pouches carrying a few herbs, and a few small totems of various animals. He has relatively long thick hair under his bear hat/cloak, and a thick beard and mustache that is long enough to cover his chest.

Personality: Edor has found himself to be very similar to bears. He is normally very kind, but is quick to anger and takes very simple options to solve what he sees as causing the problems angering him. He also finds sleep to be a very good thing, and dislikes being forced awake early. He enjoys eating meat, though does not really mind eating berries and nuts to supplement himself when ever he can't get his hands on meat. When hunting, Edor cuts off his communications with the other animals, as he sees it as cheating the natural order of things.

Brief Background:
Edor was born and raised in the Stirland province of the Empire. Growing up, Edor found himself seeing strange colors in the world that other people couldn't see. Being joked and not understanding what it was, Edor quickly stopped talking about the things he saw and started to avoid people. He found that the forests and other natural areas were very calming for him, and so spent much of his free time alone in those sorts of places.

Around the age of of 14, a strange man in pelts carrying a weird staff approached Edor while out in the woods. Edor was weary of this stranger at first, but soon found that he shared some similar mentalities with the stranger. The next few days ended up having Edor meeting the man out in the woods as he showed Edor some various aspects of nature. The stranger eventually asked about some of the things Edor could see, and revealing himself as a magister of the amber order. Shocked by someone else being able to see the same things he could, Edor and the wizard had a discussion about what it was, which Edor greatly appreciated.

The wizard then told Edor that he would be taking him on as an apprentice, and would train him to be a magister of the amber order. Edor then decided to leave home with very little in the way of goodbyes, and over the next few years learned the various things necessary for an amber wizard to know. After having learned much of the shamanistic way from his master, Edor took his last step in training by venturing off on his own and living with the wild spirits. In the last year of his life Edor was approached by his master and told that he had passed, and was one of the amber order. Edor then made his staff from the the natural elements that he felt best represented him, and crowned it with a chunk of amber gifted to him by his master as a final parting gift.

Edor then continued to venture around the forests, helping to preserve the natural order of the beasts when ever he saw that order being wronged.

Occupation: Shaman (Imperial Magister of the Amber Order, Wizard trained in the lore of Beasts)

Item:
Wizard Staff: a tall wooden walking staff with depictions of various animals carved into it. It has two slight bends along it, but it remains largely straight. At the top is a chunk of amber that seems to be trapped within a small cluster of branches. Looped through, and hanging down from, some of these branches are some hide cords that have a few small bones and feathers of various animals looped on them in patterns. The bear seems to be the most represented animal on this staff, though is by no means the only animal.

Fur Cloths: Warm cloths made from the hides of various animals, and stitched together with their sinew

Herb Pouches: Edor has a few common herbs useful for his line of work stored in pouches tied on with leather sashes.

Impressive beard: No more description needed.

Strengths:
Manipulator of the Ghur wind of Magic: Trained to be a magister of the empire in the art of manipulating the wind of Ghur.
Wildcraft: Edor has spent much time training and learning verious aspects of nature. He has knowledge of herb lore and aspects of animal's lives.
Strength of Ghur: After having manipulated Ghur for some time, Edor's body has taken on some minor mutations that has increased his strength and toughness.

Weaknesses:
Disagrees with Civilization: Edor starts to get uncomfortable when he is around lots of people or in unnatural buildings.
Wizard: Edor is untrained in the use of martial weapons and is greatly encumbered in armor. With his fighting style being a very up front, punching the person in the face, this is a bit of an... inconvenience to say the least.

Edit: realized I forgot a last name... knew I was going to make mistakes...

You are right Kavok, it was meant to be more of a fear of drowning. Will change that. Also I have to admit that the fear of water thing isn't really part of the character, I needed another weakness but couldn't think of one so I stole one from the youtube videos "the gamers". If you guys can think of a better one I'd be happy to change ^^

Just want you to know that I don't think the video is working as intended... but the fear thing is a common mistake people make... Most people who say they have a fear of heights are unintentionally lieing... What they are afraid of is not the height they are at, they are afraid of falling and hitting the ground.

OK! I actually have some time to comment on the recent characters, sorry about my lateness.

Count Michael, drop the number of bolts the crossbow can load to three and then everything will be fine with the character. Silver bolts however, won't be in your possession as they are incredibly rare tools which only people in the right sort of jobs can get.

Mad 'At, All good on the mechanics front. Just the final comment of losing the whole retinue seems a little off. If it's there so you don't have a band following you, a witch hunter of two years would probably not have any permanent followers anyway, especially one who considers themselves to be a loner ;)

Kavok, very nice. I've no issues here.

Assuming that you make the changes then you guys will receive the same package of stuff the others got in addition to each of you individually receiving the following

Count Michael
-Shashka

-Warm Kossar clothing

-Light armour

-30 Crossbow bolts

Mad 'At
-Witch Hunters Hat and coat
Not just a symbol of office, these items of clothing provide decent protection

-Two vials of holy water blessed by the priests of Sigmar

-Powder Horn, 20 standard shots and 5 silver shots.

-Rapier
the favoured weapon of witch hunters

Kavok
-Pouch of common healing herbs

-Warm clothing
The hides and furs of animals serve to keep you warm in winter

-Impressive Beard

@Mad'at

Is Katharina Oberholtzer a merc/unofficial/ freelance witchhunter?
Just curious although I don't think the Templars of Sigmar accept women.

Ofc freelancers could still be skilled

Just asking out of personal interest.

In recent years (of the warhammer setting (post mordheim)) they do accept females, there just isn't a whole lot of them, and there would be a decent ammount of sexism
