The Dead Rats Walking

Ok, since Sid said he liked my models i decided i should post some of them up here
unfortunately first i have to take some better photos... my current ones are really very blurry.
anyway this army was inspired by Borzag on da Warpath and his undead Orcs and goblins, as well as a few other undead greenskin armies ive seen around the place. instead if just being a plain copycat i decided to create an army that i havnt actually seen anywhere before (though for all i know there maybe a few, but i havnt seen any, so this army is more or less my idea ) so far i have about 40 zombies assembled using clanrat and plague monk parts. i will get some pictures up soon. none of my models are painted, but i should have another 20 zombie clanrats ready by the end of this weekend, and hopefully undercoat all my models by then as well, but since i also have 5 assignments due next week it may be tricky

ok, sorry for the quality of the pictures, my camera isnt that great and i havnt used it in about 3 years anyway, the 2 units i've assembled so far, one plague monk and one clanrat zombie unit

ok, that makes me feel slightly better :grin: and besides, my picture quality should hide just about everything unless i paint them pink with purple poka dots :lol:
i will try to get around to undercoating and painting at least some of them this weekend, but my weekend already looks rather busy... i might be able to find time. i currently have assembled and converted another 20 clanrat zombies, but since they are so much similar to the first batch im not going to post them until they're painted. ive also put together a rat ogre to use as a strigoi with massive monstrosity until i get my warlord to use. that might be a while though, since im saving up to get a black bell (converted screaming bell, will be used as a black coach :grin: hoping it will turn out as good as it is in my imagination :lol

yes well, so far ive only gotten around to undercoating all 60 zombies, and i have saved enough for the black bell, just need to get to a GW ive been delaying painting them until now, as i wanted to paint them during the Summer holidays. since i now have 2 months to buy, assemble and paint them and the rest of my 1000pt army i should have som e painted models up soon

it is coming :| it is kinda what the army is about :lol: unfortunately somehow i doubt that anyone would let me use undead ratling guns in my army, no matter how much i agued the point, which is a pity, and that would make a very powerful army. SAD army with raisable troops anyone? nice idea...
anway, just found out that i need a few more paints now, i dont have the right colours and a few of mine have all dried up now

well, lessee. first off, i got the new paints and the screaming bell, so i should have some painted minis up sometime next week, and the Black Bell should be finished hopefully around the same time (hehe, how i love wishful thinking) now all i gotta do is find time to do all the painting and converting and im set

hmm, just noticed the huge hole in question really isnt very visible. oh well, on his left side he has a rather large hole, for everyone who cant see it (which is probably everyone)

im not a great painter so the models are mediocre at best and i went and forgot to take a picture of the left side of the Black Bell, the side with all the rat ogre conversions on it

You do have some good self-knowledge.

I do like you call the Screaming Bell the Black Bell though. A Rat Ogre pulling that finally makes some sense... I mean, a tower of a bell pulling itself forward with what? Clan rats? Stormvermin? Hell no! Ogres of rats I tell you!

Wow! I know how fiddily it is putting together clanrats normaly (as a skaven player too), but undead skaven? :bows down: amazing!

Ps, ya said you ran out of ideas for your black bell? How about giving the Grey seer (or is that "Black seer?") a sythe for the top of his hammer. Just a thought! I would try to make some undead Furbys myself, but after making 60 normal clanrats in two days, No Thanks!

thanks MV, i try to remain self-aware :lol: thanks for the ideas guys. the fellow on top of the bell isnt the Grey Seer, he's the striker or whatever those guys who hit the bell are called :lol: i do have a scythe from a wraith i bought one time and then promply forgot about, but i intend to use that on my warlord vampire not a bad idea though, i might use a spare zombie scythe or three somewhere on the model

ok, these are some pictures of the zombie plague monks that i (finally) finished. took me ages to do the last 5, i kept either putting it off, going to 5 star lodges or having to cope with bad weather :lol: (i paint outside usually). in actuality i am not going to field the plague monk zombies as their own unit, instead they, and the night runners im currently assembling, are going to be scattered throughout the units, to create units of skaven from every clan and background. also, i am about to start painting the first necromancer, a lot later than i planned, for the same reasons as the plague monks zombies

might i sugest using a wash over those rats??
i would say a little bit of flesh wash or warlock purple over one (just to test) but the look stunning overall look.
i am gonna have to put my skaven ideas up soon

well, my only flesh colour at the moment is bronzed flesh, but i do have purple ink
