Thanks for all the replies

@Dogmar: Scaly Green... I see. It's a great colour, I used it on the skin of my wyvern IIRC. Too bad they don't supplies it any more. Best of luck with the turquoise.

@Old man doom: Lovecraft is awesome ^^

@Tawg: Your words honour me. With so many great plogs on this forum that really means something.

I went for shields for several reasons, the most important one would be the way I chose to paint the swords. I don't think I could have done it on the great weapons. But gamewise it suits my playstyle better, I like grinding my foes down slowly, ratter than killing them all in one bloody round of combat.

It was a Tag Team tournament, so there was an award for best painted alliance. My teammates OnG did not fit very well with my VC so even though both armies were painted quite nicely we did not stand a chance. The award went to a awesome alliance of winter themed OnG and WoC.

@Tim: Not at all. I should mention that I was in turn inspired by Flagg's Army of Lady Ilithra.

I just realised I've forgotten to post the cairn wraith I painted up for the tournament.

I present to you Mr. Happyface:

A bit comic relief for the army xD

Can't see the metal well, but it looks like you went for some sort of rusted colour?

And the face, you used putty to make I assume? It does look a bit cartoon~ish, but imagine if a wraith was trying to terrify an opponent and any sort of hallucination/vision of fear involved a sort of screaming face looming over them completely; The large face might make sense like that :ghost:

Also, I like the 'Ethereal' .. 'light-bleed' coming out from the holes in his cloak, looks pretty sweet (Although the picture doesn't show it too well, I imagine it's as cool as I think xP).

some of the coolest GG I have ever seen, I might steal your banner if you dont mind! good job on the blades colour sheme they look really cool in contrast with the blue armor. Keep it up!

@Krinas: Thank you :) I wouldn't mind at all, it's good to know my work is good enough to be copied xD

@Twag: It is indeed a rusted blade.

The face is in fact the original face for the old black knight trumpet, the trumpet that is, not the guy holding it. The trumet itself is used be the Grave Guard musician, with a new skeleton head instead.

When converting it I was inspired by this picture xD

Also your post made me realise how bad those pictures of Mr. Happyface really are. So I took some new one, only slightly better, he is very difficult to photograph.

I'm glad you liked the "light-bleed", I had my doubts about it but I think it turned out ok in the end.

Edit: And I have a new avatar picture  check it out!

This army looks awesome. I like your graveguards, and your banners are really amazing (the GG one, and the skellies one too). And your spirit hosts are stunning.

Have you a group picture, a photo of the whole army ? I would totally enjoy that !

With some help from my brother I took these picture, turned out pretty good I you ask me.

Enjoy

This is about as large as this army will become. Someday, in an not too distant future, I will add about 80 zombies too it, aswell as a varghulf and possibly 10 black knights. Will probably add a few heroes and lords too. But for now it is done.

Thanks for the kind kind words xD

I currently working on the dreadfleet board game. Painting it on the tightest deadline I've ever had. If all goes well it will be done by next weekend. After that the painting of my Cryx warband will begin, possibly mixed with some work on the latest stuff for my OnG army (great cave squig!). Then there is an entire Ork army in boxes that needs assembly and paint. And when GW decides to re-new bretonnia I will have to give my noble knights some attention. So much to do, so little time

Anyways, watch for activity in my random stuff thread, I might add the dreadfleet stuff to that pile.

Damn I wish I could zoom in and pan around on that full army shot Mad 'At!...
It's sooo preciously good and freaking awesomely done...
Thumbs up in every possible way from here!

I just finished combing through your entire thread and I have to say, those are some beautifully painted minis. I love your color schemes, with the grave guard especially. The fantastic blades, the exceedingly well-done verdigris, it's all quite the masterpiece.

I also very much enjoyed the ghoul and zombie vignettes. Great work all around!

I'm sad to hear that you're planning on wrapping up the army for now. It was just getting good! Would have loved to see your take on a zombie dragon or some vargheists.

I didn't expect to see any more replies on this thread, but I'm glad I was wrong because your posts inspire me.

Thank you all for your kind words.

@ben: Well I'm trying to wrap it up, it is not going very well, because I already working on my next necro, and I'm just about to order my varghulf miniature. I'm sad to disappoint you but I'm not a big fan of the vargheist models, and I don't fancy the dragon gamewise, but a terrorgeist is not impossible, albeit in some far distant future.
