Thanks for the comments and kind words guys :D

I too look forward to seeing them painted 13. The painting itself I fear a bit though :scared:

Glad you liked the vampires Hansarius, I plan to paint my next one pretty soon, and have very high hopes for him.

About the headless bird and the birdhead zombie, working with them gave me the idea that I should combine them someday. I mean, how could would it not be to have a Stork on the arm XD The question is only who should carry it...

Wow I love the revamped corpse cart, the flames just tie it all together, and your use of chains makes me want to use them more, too! That vamp lord is frigin awesome as well. Almost reminiscent of the protagonist from the MediEvil PS game from back in the day... and I really like the winged skull breastplate. Looks great!

Hi guys, and thanks for the comments.

Not much of an update this time, and there won't been any for some time forward because I am on the other end of the country right now, with barely any internet connection to boot. But I'll still manage to keep myself up to date on the forums and maybe even post something here and there. For now I will leave you with a few more zombies, pictures taken before I went away but not edited until now. Sadly the got a little blurry.

I realise now the might need a little more work once I get back...

Cheers

Time for an update :D

And thanks for the kind comments guys. Painting will follow 13, but in a time far far away sadly.

For now I will present to you the almost finished third starter unit, and a few close ups of the models in it aswell as some other zombies.

Here is the unit:

I realise now that I should have taken pictures of how the zombie giant is coming along, but there is always a next time.

Until then, cheers.

Yet another post with just some more zombies. It's going slow but I am enjoying to build them. Hopefully I'll have them finished in not too long.

Bellow you can see the current state of one of the starter units with the start of its own 15 extra zombies. Each of my three starter units will have a fixed set of 15 zombies that will be the first to be raised when they get targeted by IoN. After that I will not place them in any pre-determined order.

And a close-up of the second ogre, still without head. I'm really starting to like these non-rectangular bases, you can create such dynamic units.

Next is the zombie giant (and his unit). He has revived a lot of work since I last showed him. Still not finished but getting there.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

@Melle: Yea, I try to put my heart and soul into them, but it might be the death of me. Schoolgirl zombie does sound fun, I'll see what I can do.

@13: Thanks :) I'm kind of running out of inspiration and there are still many zombies to go so feel free to hint about what else I could add to make them even cooler.

@Raven: Lets just hope I'll get some paint on them x D

@Monkey's_Uncle: Thanks, I'm really pleased with him, and he sort of happened by accident.

Awesome work Mad'At. Your work has inspired me to go look at all the awful and novel things I could do with my own bits after hitting a bit of a creative rut. Again fantastic stuff. I gotta ask how did you make the fiddle I saw earlier? I am modelling undead pirates and a fiddle seems a lot more appropriate than a horn xD

Thanks. I'm very glad to have inspired you :)

I had to google 'fiddle' to find of what you meant but I'll be delighted to tell you, although I'm no expert on violins so my terminology might be very bad. For easy access I'll just put this link to an image of it here. Now, the main body is made from plastic card. I then cut it to a rough shape, the carvings on the sides were defined here. From there I switched to files smoothing it out, a round file with small diameter is essential. The little points next to the deep carvings need much attention and much care, if you use a knife they can easily be cut off by accident. The 'handle' was made from a piece of sprue, cut down to size. The rest was greenstuff, with an attempt to define the separate strings. For the arms of the zombie I used the right arm from the drummer of the Empire State Troop set with a hand from an arm holing a spear/halberd shaft, and the left arm from the Empire Militia set (of Free Company or whatever they are called). Fitting a head in there was tricky to say the least. The hardest part of all though was judging the the size it should be. Violins are small and the one I made is actually quite big, even though the main body it the third try I made, each being smaller than the one before. The one I used is basically as small as it could be made with the tools I had. I'll take a measurement of it as soon as I can so you'll have a reference.

Hi guys!

Time for a long awaited update. Sadly I have nothing else but more zombies to show you, since that is what I have been putting my energy into (apart from a few additions to my OnG). Though to compensate there are quite many new zombies to show as I have been working away in hopes of having my VC army finished for a tournament this autumn. Only problem is that I need so darn many zombies, and that I can't stop myself some putting so much work into each and everyone of them.

Before anything else though, I would like to apologises to Indieash for forgetting about taking measurements of the violin, it completely slipped my mind and I am sorry for that. I have taken the measurements now so if anybody is still interested I can tell you that the main body is about 10 mm long and at its widest 8 mm wide, while the shaft is about 9 mm long from the body to the top of the head (which is now added and visible in one of the pictures bellow).

Now onto the zombies. The 15 man strong "first-to-add" zombie trays for each unit is now finished for two of the units, while the third is on the way. Only that one of them got 20 man strong thanks to Raven Torrid giving me the wonderful idea to stick a cannon into the mess, thanks Raven :)
On top of that I have almost finished the giant (only some roots to add where the tree is pulled from the ground left), fixed some details here and there (like the violin) and built at least one more zombie for the to-be-raised pile. Here are the pictures:

C&C much appreciated :)

Yee-haw, moar zombie madness! ^^ Spectacular as usual! Giving a true meaning to the term "zombie horde".

Some favourites:

The cart pushing zombie.
Pin cushion (right next to the brute with IoB Rat Ogre body).
The butcher and the guy they're taking apart.
The hand hanging from the cannon is a great touch. :)

And you're welcome, I'm just happy to be able to contribute in a way. xD

P.S. What miniature is the far left guy on the first close-up photo?

Thanks for the comment Raven.

The butcher guy is one of my absolute favourites as well. I might just snap a few more shots of him just because. Anyways, just for funs, can anybody spot what head he has?

I have now idea where that scarecrow model is from. I got it from Melle in our paint-a-zombie-get-a-zombie deal, along with his best buddy from a few posts up on this page. You could ask him but I don't think he knows either.

Also, looking back at previous posts I realise that some of the zombies I just posted have been posted before  Maybe that is why it seams like I'm drowning my own plog in pictures of zombies xD

At first glance, looks like the guy from the marauder box, with his pony tail removed (if that haircut can be called pony tail that is, don't know exact/better word for it). Could hop to my bitz-box to check for sure, but it's more fun this way. :P

EDIT: Or did you mean the one he's holding?

Your conversation are greate.........I fallow your Project a Little time now.........Specially the giant Zombie and the ogre Zombie are very nice......impressed of your conversation of the Vampire.....He is greate.....i couldn't figure out which bits or models are you use for him.....Perhaps you could tell me or us......

Thanks Shadespyre. It is quite staggering, the amount of work I put into these 210pts. I try not to think about it  I do hope that I have inspired you to make more zombies, because if you ask me, they are really fun to build.

Marauder head is correct. I only asked because I was so chocked myself when I found that head by chance, it just seamed so odd that a marauder head would look so perfect. The head in his hand is from the goblin set I believe.

EDIT: Sorry didn't see ya there vegabond. Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you've liked my plog.
I'd be happy to tell you about what miniature it is. The base is the, now old, Goreshade the Bastard, from Privateer Press. He was apparently re sculpted just recently I now learned when looking him up. Although the new sculpt is pretty cool too, I think the old one could still be available if you dig a little. The vampire's arms are from the GW Crypt Ghast kit, the cloak and mace are from the GW Plastic Empire General Kit, and the shield is from a GW Chaos Warrior with the emblem filed off. The rest is grenstuff.
