Mad'at, you should upload your squigs and mangler and some of your other stuff to the GW flickr pool, im pretty certain they would end up on whats new today. Or they should end up there at least...

I love your squigs...... Not in a "like" way, but in a "like-like" way.

I want to walk right into that horde of squigs and let them devour me.

That squid horde is brilliant, the vibrant colours of them all really work as one. The mangler squids are excellent as well Mad'at, your skill with green stuff is inspiring.

Hi everyone!

I'm back from the tournament and now it is time to report how it went. This also happens to be my 1000th post so I'm a bit too happy.

Anyways, here we go. Friday afternoon I set off to the town of Västerås. This year the tournament had moved to another house of the school, and in this one the biggest room had huge Chandeliers hanging from the celling an other fancy stuff.

Amongst the first things to notice was this awesome gaming table:

Not only is it insanely good built, detailed and painted, but all the tiny parts are also removable through magnets, including the rays between the towers. The reason the table was built is that one of the hosts became a parent had thus had loads of time over (f*ck logic).

The next day the tournament started.

Battle 1

The army we faced was Bretonnia and Empire. They had a big unit of halberds with a Lvl4 Light wizard, 2x lvl 1 wizards and a BSB, a big unit of KotR with Lord, BSB and damsel, some archers, a hurricanum, 2x trebuchets and 2x cannons. Mad 'At got Lore of Light, Banishment and Timewarp, Svarten (the Skaven warlord also with wizarding hat) got Lore of Heavens, Iceshard and Thunderbolt. The damsel got Wildform and the coven of light 2x Gaze, Banisment and Timewarp amongst others. The scenario was to secretly appoint one opponents character as a traitor. The traitor could once per game be forced to do nothing in one phase and gave away VP to the wrong side if killed. We chose the Lvl4 wizard. This is what it looked like right after deployment:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020431_zpsa11c2642.webp
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020432_zps177dacb0.webp

And sometime after, I think start of our turn 2:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020433_zpsda0d21a0.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020434_zpsff2b2ba1.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020435_zpse4d7d026.webp

Notice the lack of knights and the vanished treb, result of lucky shooting with WLC and Rock Lobba. The Censor bearers in combat with the Knight failed miserably, even with a Iceshard on the knigts. The characters struck first and killed most, the remaining did nothing and fled. The Goblin army marched steady forward, but sadly I failed to get of the Timewarp so it took some time to get to those pesky 'umans.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020436_zpsf6901c64.webp

The second treb was also shot down by the Lobba (he had a good game). Meanwhile the brave halberd (looks like Men-at-arms) detachment surged forward in a vain attempt to stop the squigs. They marched behind their rank but was charged by the sneaky goblins... and fled:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020437_zpsd7a3ac28.webp

On the other side of the table the knight got charged by a big unit of clanrats.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020439_zps22c58fe4.webp

A few moments later there was not much left of them (again a bucket load of luck really), but notice the brave bretonnian lord behind our ranks. Also, the hurricanum was by around here dead, killed by two thunderbollts.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020441_zps06c125ce.webp

He was out manoeuvred by a wall of skaven slaves who constantly got in the way of him and the small clanrat unit with easy points in form of Svarten. Eventually he gave up and made for the leftmost (from my side of the table) WLC, which had survive three hits from a cannon, only taking one wound by it all. However, he was charged by the slaves in the rear and then shoot to pieces by said WLC (along with about 20 slaves but who cares).
The last turns of the game saw the squigs closing in on the halberds but getting cold feet due to them being buffed by timewarp.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020442_zpscafd6ffc.webp

Mad 'At got toasted in the last turn by two Shem's Gaze and one banishment, but this was good because he was the traitor.

In the end it was a pretty big victory for us, we got 14 Battlepoints while they got 6.

Painting competition

Next up was a lunch break, during which attendant could enter models into the single miniature painting competition. Here are some of the entries:

First price went to griffin mounted ogre, second to the giant with the gig nose (though gamewise he was a treeman) and third to the khorne herald with green armour.

Battle 2
This was against a very similar list as in battle one, only with skaven instead of empire. Knight unit with lord, damsel (wildform) and bsb, two trebs, 3 pegasi, lots of rat infantry, grey seer and 2x WLC. Mad 'At got Lore of Shadow (conveniently after wearing it for the painting comp), Melkoth's and Enfeebling, while Svarten got Heavens (again), this time Comet and Curse.
This is after the first compulsory movement phase:

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020469_zpsc1b3faeb.webp

The terradon in the middle is part of the scenario, the objective is to capture the monster. Notice the text on our opponents t-shirt xD

Here we are several turns later:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020470_zps7416da3f.webp

The monster decided that it loved night goblins so it moved into my unit as soon as it could. This forced them to hold it, which is good since we would get VP if we held it at the end. The downside is that the monster rolls on a chart at the start of each player turn, worst that can happen is that it breaks free, best it only inflicts some hits on the unit. The picture above is from right after it broke free. The night goblin unit is significantly smaller due to shooting, magic and the monster. To the left of them should my squig horde be, but it was, after first being hit by a miscasting plague (that turned the seer into lvl1), turned to clanrats (13th + power scroll) who got chased away by the goblins. Most warmachines were by this time dead or in combat, killed by gutter runners (from both sides), comets and pegasi. Both our big rat units were trapped in combat since long ago.

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020473_zpscc000ef4.webp

Not much more happend after that. The goblins killed the engineer and the clanrats in front of them, the archers killed the wolf riders, the censers bearers (who had lost five of their numbers to a venom thicket) charged the knight but got killed, and the monster again fell in love with the poor night goblins, only to leave them again shortly after, being free in the end.

We lost, earning only 4 battlepoints, while they got 16.

Battle 3

This time we certainly faced a different army. Empire and Ogres. 5 demigryphs, 5 mournfang, 6 ironguts with bsb and brusier, seam tank, ironblaster, 2x cats and a big unit of halberds with Lvl4 shadow wizard. Mad 'At got Lore of Heavens, Iceshard and buff(I think), Svarten got Metal, Searing Doom and Transmuation of Lead. The mission was to let on general die and the other survive.

Here is after our the end of the second turn:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020476_zps5203cb1b.webp

In the space between the Mournfangs and the big stone pillar is where the Ironguts were just moments ago, a WLC had a lucky shoot, taking out 5 of the guts, but failing to wound the BSB (darn 1).
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020478_zps3ec4477f.webp

This is after out third turn, another über lucky shoot with a WLC and the demigryphs were down to one. My lobba got swallowed by a pit :(

Then things started going bad.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2020480_zpsd44f9701.webp

The morunfang charged the squig horde, normaly this would be great for the squigs, if it wern't for some pesky magic to interfere. My horde got hit by Melkoth's Miasma, and went down to both WS1 and I1. The ogres cavalery hit like a sledge hammer, killing all 30 squigs (and more but wounds don't transfer ^^) and stomping 4 gobbos aswell. The remaining goblins broke, realising more squigs from under their skirts and killing an already wounded mornfang in the process.
The Mornfang the tried to escape but got charged by the night goblins in the rear, the goblin threw a net on themself and lost combat, allowing the cats to reform, and latter being killed, but the Orc general survived.
The ogre general got killed but some gutter runners (which in the end was better for our opponents then for us due to the mission). The censer bearers charged the halberd unit but unfortunately my partner forgot to get into contact with the wizard, otherwise he would likely ended up dead too (which would have been great for us). The halberds took massive damage but killed the rats after two combat turns.
Our magic was mainly focused on trying to kill the last survivors from the cannon hits, but it failed, Searing Doom failed to reach casting value time and time again, despite 6 dice. In the end all three of the demigryph, the irongut and the BSB had only one wound remaining. And because of the objective of the game we lost despite having most of our army still on the table. We got 7, they 13 (but my memory might fail me here).

This ended the first day. All the armies were put up on the tables for painting evaluation (you lose points if your army is unpainted). I took the opportunity to photograph the two coolest armies there:

Next day begins.
Battle 4
This time we were up against Daemons and Bretonnia. Horde of Bloodletters with khorne herald, about 20 horrors with loremaster light herald, big slaanesh chariot, two sixes of KotR, two fives of mounted yeomen, two trebs, and a unit 3 pegasi with a pegasus lord and a pegasus BSB. The scenario forced us to deploy our armies separately with 18" apart, which place me in a lake. Both our wizarding hat guys got Lore of Shadows, Melkoth's on both, Mindrazor on Mad 'At and Enfeebling Foe on Svarten. This is what it looked like after deployment:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2030517_zps2092803b.webp

In turn one the bretonnia force moved to assault the skaven force, leaving only the peasants to deal with me. Mad 'At got a misscast with two dice, losing one level but lowering the M value of the pegasi by 2, not worth it. I also placed my wolf rider unit in the way of one yeomen unit to prevent it from disturbing the squigs. The wolfs took casualty but held, letting Mad 'At charge them in the flank. On the other side the censer bearers marched forth to face the bloodletters.
This is a little later:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2030518_zpsa8d214c5.webp

The chariot have charged the slaves, and the bloodletters overran the censers, suffering very little casualty due to horrible die rolling from our part. The squig horde struggled forward but were hampered by the other yeomen unit. Mad 'At did however set a 17" charge and thus took out a treb, after surviving two hit from both of them in the turn before (first partial and saved by AS, second took 2 wounds off him), making up for the horrible performance by our warmachine (or more fabulous war save rolls by the opponent).
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2030519_zps7530335d.webp

The other treb was taken care of by the gutter runners. One of the warp lightning cannons fired on the chariot in combat with the slaves however, finally getting past the ward and removing 6 of its 8 wounds.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2030520_zps862f5f1d.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P2030521_zpsb535da42.webp

The squigs were furthered delayed by a failed animosity roll followed by a roll of 1 on the chart (and thus killing some goblins). The slaves won combat vs the chariot (since it no longer had impact hits) and it crumbled to death, and my rock lobber killed a bunch of bloodletters. The letters then charged the big clanrat unit, and the knights the slaves. Both held, and the clanrats even killed some daemons.
In the following turn the knights broke the slaves and reformed to take the charge from the night goblins. However, the squigs failed another animosity test and was forced to charge even though it was 16" to the knights. I rolled and guess what... double 6. The squigs got a flank charge on the closest unit while the night goblins charged the front. Needless to say it didn't go too well for the knights, but fortunately for us one survived and fled, letting the squigs pursue him down and getting into contact with the horrors. The night goblins reformed to take the charge from the other knight unit. The pegasi unit broke up in order to take the Warp lightling cannons down. The horrors got eaten and crumbled to death. The squigs reformed only to charge the bloodletters who by now were finished with both clanrat units (it charged the second and killed it, but not before that unit had charged and killed the pegasi BSB first). The bloodletters lost but a few survived, not letting me to kill them before the game was over. The last knight unit got counter charged by some gutters runners and fled, only to be run down by the rats.

In the end both had suffered major losses, and mad combats had ravaged the entire field, but we came out victorious. 13 points to us.

During the lunch break the voting for best painted alliance was held. This time only those chosen by the hosts could enter, we were amongst those. Due to lack of time I did however not manage to take any photos, both armies I took pictures of before did enter, and took first and second place respectively, third place went to the army with the black giant deff dread controlled by gnoblars seen from the single miniature completion.

Battle 5
In this last battle I somehow forgot to take pictures, something I regret, because the game was one of the best I've had in a while.
We faced a Tomb Kings and Empire cavalry alliance. They had 10 Inner Circle knight, 4 demigryphs, steam tank, 10 archers with Lvl4 Life wizard, 1 pegasus hero, 3 snake surfers, one of each sphinx, 10 skeleton archers with lvl2 hierophant and 6 chariots. Mad 'At got Lore of Life (he seams to mimic opponents quite often), Earth Blood and Flesh to Stone (why do I always roll throne, it is of no use to a lvl 2). Svarten got Fire, Ball and Head. The objective was to appoint one unit champion to be the runner. If the runner made it to the other board edge you got VP. We chose the small clanrat unit's champion.
Deployment from our side of view saw demigryphys on the left side, followed by Steam Tank behind a hill, surfers, archers, warsphinx, undead archers, necrosphinx and inner circle, pegasus. We answered with: Censers, wolf riders, mangler, squig horde, goblins (behind), night goblins (joined by both Mad 'At and general), slaves, big clanrats (with all skaven characters) and small clanrat unit. The warmachines were spaced out here and there.
They got first turn and surged forward. We tried to shoot them to pieces but most failed, mangler squig moved forward while wolf riders move back a little. Slaves and squig horde advanced.
In their second turn most of their stuff charged, but miraculously most of them failed. Only chariots slaves. The combat became long and sweaty. The sphinx killed loads, but the goblins held. Mad 'At spider had awesome moment, rolling three sixes to hit, auto wound due to poison, but he saved two of them with 6+ AS!
In our turn the squig horde charged the surfers, and the mangler landed 1" in front of the demigryphs. The night goblins charged the chariots flank, killing them and reforming to take the charge from the warsphinx. That combat became long and sweaty. The sphinx killed loads, but the goblins held. Mad 'At spider had awesome moment, rolling three sixes to hit, auto wound due to poison, but he saved two of them with 6+ AS!The slaves also charged the warsphinx' flank. The squigs rolled horribly and the surfers saved miraculously, statistically the unit should have crumbled to death, now there were two left.
The Steam Tank landed on the mangler, suffering 4 wound in the process (his first cause damage in the tournament) and the surfers returned and got flesh to stone, giving the squigs a hard time. The necrosphinx charged the big clanrat unit and the inner circles again failed., as did the pegasus hero. The sphinx combat had little action, stale mate, but the warsphinx continued to roll good AS, but slowly it began to come down.
The Gutterrunners charged the necrosphinx, killing it in combat. The censors failed frenzy check and few into the demigryphs, got themselves killed and allowed them chickens to reform to face the exposed flank of the squigs. The other fight continued in stalemate.
The dimigryphs charged, but failed. The Inner circle finally charged the small clanrat unit and pursued into the Rock Lobba, dangerously close to the edge. Other combats were again stalemate, surfers got flesh to stone again.
Our turn. The Inner circle killed the Lobban and overran over the edge, earning them VP due to the prospector being their runner. The squig finally killed the surfers and reform to take the charge from the demigryphs. The 3 remaining night goblins, with Mad 'At and general, broke from combat while the slaves stayed put. A WLC shoot took down two of the demigryphs.
The demigryph charged, and got buffed with flesh to stone, the squigs once again had to fight uphill.
After a few more round of combat the squig exploded, taking a few more wound from the demigryphs, but not enough to allow the goblins to kill them. The explosion did however kill a bunch of empire archers, which made a difference a little later.
The steamtank cannon tried to kill the night goblin unit and both characters with a cannon shoot, but rolled two twice on the artillery dice. There fore the engineer carelessly drew his gun and fired, all hits, I assigned all to the night goblins, three wounds. The characters were free and could now rally on other than double 1. In combat the slaves killed the warsphinx.
In our last turn the steam tank was killed by a WLC who took the last three wound, the other fired on the Life wizard who now, thanks to the squigs, didn't get a look out sir roll and killed him. Svarten threw a fireball at the liche priest who had left the unit in fear of being charged, killing him too.

When the dust settled it was clear that it would be tight. We had killed more but they had for-filled the objective. It ended in a draw, 10 to 10.

All in all we had a great time. Though we failed to reach our goal of ending up in the upper half of the score chart, we got place 22 of 42, with a total of 47 battle points.

That's all for now, feel free to comment.

Hello

No update this time, just a little post to tell you what is going on.

I went to a tournament almost two weeks ago, and had a great time. Will post a full report of it here when I get the time.

This last weekend however I went to play a few games with some friends and brought the same army that I use on the tournament, simply because I had not unpacked it from the big GW bag yet. In the end I didn't play any because of the lack of tables, but it was fun anyways. Home again I was taking my army bag out of the car, when disaster struck. The lid flew open as I pulled it up and everything was thrown out onto the asphalt. Since I had school the next day we just hurriedly put everything back and got it inside. Then next day I went home early to try and do something about it. First was to inspect the damage, here is a picture of the worst of it:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P9091029_zps2ad26642.webp

A total of 20 squigs had be badly chipped, some had broken of the base and whatnot, the wyvern' tail had broken off and also suffered chipping on the neck mohawk and around the left wing joint. The Orc Warboss lost both arms and one of the chariot's wolves strangely lost its tail. In addition to that several shields had broken off and one troll had lost a spine bone plate. All in all not too horrible, the Mangler was undamaged, as was the wyvern's rider.

I spent the next four hours repairing everything and got it done without too much hassle. Two squigs caused some trouble because the previous pinning made it difficult to repair. I was amazed by what a good condition my old Scaly Green was in when fixing the wyvern, which is very good news because I plan on making him a new head someday. In the end mostly everything got restored properly, though the squigs don't rank up as good as they used to, the joint between wing and body is slightly more visible on the wyvern, and the unicorn squig's horn is now broken.

So, in other word, the last few days have been quite exhausting. Now I just hope I can get on with other stuff, like zombies.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Finally have some time to start writing up the tournament.

As always is the case with tournaments in Västerås I had a fantastic time a 5 five great games. As usual I had the goal to end up on the upper half of the result list, and to make it past the limit of shame (50 BP in total, on average a draw each game). This time I also made up another goal the second I stepped into the building, and this on was to play atleast one game on the second floor, which had never been used before but was this time needed due to the many participants (over 110 in total, biggest in Sweden ever I think). I can at once tell you that I failed with my last goal :(

On Friday, before the games started I spotted a cool army that I just had to take a photo of. Check it out.
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310926_zps864cc837.webp

Onto my own army, I didn't bring Mad 'At this time, but instead brought another crazy wizard. An Orc Great Shaman mounted on Wyvern (he is normal even more crazy actually being a Savage Orc and all, but I decided frenzy was a bad idea because of the Swedish ruling on berserk rage). Interestingly enough I brought almost the same army to this tournament 3 years ago. I'll see if I can dig up both list and photo of that army, should be interesting. Anyways, here is my complete army:

And thus it is time to go through my first match, against Deamons of Chaos, my first time against them with their new book.

Here is how things looked after deployment:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310927_zps4b738d74.webp

His army from close to far:
Plaguebearer horde with BSB
3 flies
3 beasts
Great Unclean One
Skull cannon
Daemonettes with shadow hero
6 Screamers

My Orc Warboss went with the Big 'Uns and the BSB with the Orc Horde

And here is the battlefield from the other direction:

These are after turn 1:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310929_zps6692f7a5.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310930_zps7613c562.webp

He got first turn and moved up a little bit in the movement phase. The magic phase didn't see much action, can't remember of RoC did anything. In the shooting phase his skull cannon aimed at my Wyvern. I had made up a plan before the tournament to place him behind the trolls if I faced cannons in hopes they would soak up the impact. But I figured it would help much against a burning canon -.- So the Wyvern ended up at the flank. His first shot hit, wounded my Shaman, he failed his 4++, dead, Wyvern wounded, dead. Nice start.

In my turn I moved up as good as I could, the Orc Horde squabbled so that flank was a bit slowed. My random mover on the flank moved backwards to deny him a possible charge. My magic saw an Itchy Nuisance on the Screamers, but also put a wound on the Goblin I think (who had moved out of his unit for some reason).

In his turn 2 he moved up his Beasts quite far while the plaguebearers carefully make their way towards the squigs. RoC kills my chariot.

In my turn the trolls charge into the Beast's flank and the mangler squig jumped through them, causing no wounds! I win combat but only cause like one wound in total. The squigs and PB to stare at each other.

His turn 3 sees the flies charging into the flank of the trolls. Here I had made a mistake by not letting the mangler jump through the beasts so that it would have been within the flies chargemove. I dispel all his attempts of buffing things in that combat but I still lose it and the trolls flee, stumble and die while the flies overrun into the big 'uns. Again the squigs and PB just stare at eachother, could be that he tried to charge but failed.

This should be how it looked after his turn 3:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310931_zpsdc3a0da9.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310932_zps68f57285.webp

My turn 3: My mangler squigs seamed to hunt his skull cannon, following it's moved, but never quite reaching it. My lobba had by this time put in a few wounds on the Great Unclean One. My squigs failed a charge against the PB, and my Orc Horde Charge the Screamers. Combat saw my Warboss challenged by the fly champion, which meant my big burly Orc didn't get to fight at all.

His turn 3: The Great Unclean One failed to charge into the Big 'Un's flank and the PB finally charged into the squigs, through the mysterious river which turned out to be a Raging Torrent giving them +3 I  In combat my squigs get beaten and my Warboss gets killed in challenge. The Big 'Uns flee and die.

This is how it looked after that:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310933_zpsae9330e1.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310934_zps0788bdea.webp

I might have gotten the turns mixed up a bit but you get the point. Before my lobba got charged it managed to put another rock in the head of the Great Unclean One taking him down to one wound left. He cleans up my left flank pretty good and I only managed to kill his Screamers. I was a pretty big victory for him 16-4 IIRC. What was wonderful was that my Mangler survived the game, first time ever I think ^^

More to come...

After the first game it was time for lunch and voting for best painted model. Everyone was free to enter one miniature of their choice, I choose my Wyvern (mostly because my Mangler Squigs had been up so many times before). Bellow are pictures of all the participants, sadly my camera had trouble focusing on some of them.

I will tell you who won at the end of my tournament report.

After that it was time for Match 2. This time I was up against a pretty strange high elf army. He had a Prince on Star Dragon, two Nobles on Griffins, 15 Silver Helms, 3x5 Ellyrian Reavers, 2x Bolt Throwers, 2 Eagles and a Frost Phoenix. Everything was themed in a dark sometimes even undead look. The scenario was to secretly select 1 to 3 of your opponents non character units that you would kill. If you killed them they would give you twice as many victory point but if you failed your opponent would get a bonus to his victory points equal to their cost. I selected his Silver Helms and one unit of Reavers.

This is after his turn 2:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310962_zps48ae197f.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310963_zps58fcb40d.webp

The empty flying stand is the Phoenix.

Where the main part of his army is my Orc Horde was moments ago. He went first in the game so I only got on turn of shooting and magic before he was upon me. The foot took out 5 Silver Helms (or possibly the combined effort of the Spear Chukkas, can't remember), while the Lobba put a few wounds in the Phoenix.I also managed to charge the designated Reaver unit with my wolf chariot and another with the Pump Wagon, both died in combat, the third stepped on my Mangler and was also killed. The Pump Wagon got charged by the Eagles and dies, but not without putting a wound in the with stand and shoot ^^. In his turn 2 he charged with the Prince, the Silver Helms, one Noble and the Phoenix into my Orcs. My warboss was killed by the Prince and his dragon, while Orcs were slaughtered in droves. After the dust settled after the thunderstomps I was down to bellow 20 Orcs left. When I had struck back I had managed to get 5 wounding hits on the Silver Helms, all of which were saved by the 2+ AS (since I only had S3 due to the Phoenix). This meant we were equal in ranks and I lost steadfast, and broke from combat. The Star Dragon overran into my Lobba but the Silver Helms failed to reach the Goblins, both the Nobel and Phoenix stayed put.

In my next turn I put all my energy into truing to kill the Silver Helms while my units moved around best they could. The magic phase saw Itchy Nuisance on the Phoenix lowering its movement by 5 I think. I also cast the powerful Foot with IF, and boy did Gork stomp. Another 5 silver Helm died, the Phoenix suffered a few wounds, taking it down to one, and one of the Nobles lost his Griffin. Sadly my Shaman was sucked into the warp in the process. Shoot was even better, the Spear Chukka seen to the far right took a flank shoot at the Silver Helms, killing 4, 1 left. And the Goblins raised their bows, got 4 wounds in, and he failed one AS! In combat the Star Dragon killed my Lobba and ran off the board.

In his next turn he charged the Goblins with the Phoenix, because he only had M5 I could stand and shoot, some lucky die rolling later and the Phoenix was dead. We then remembered that I should have tested for terror, so I rolled the dice and the Goblins instead flead in panic, while the Phoenix came back to life. His griffinless Nobel charged into the side of my Trolls hoping to get lucky, he rolled horribly and failed to put a single wound on them. I elected to puke on him but rolled snake eyes for wounding. Then I ememberd stomps and managed to get one wound in with that. He still won combat by 1 so I had to test steadfast breaktest on Ld 4, which I passed! Didn't get to reform though.

This is what it looked like towards the end of the game.

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310965_zpscfe2dd8f.webp

Not much more happend in the game, he never got his flyers into a nice position to combo charge again, or was to afraid of the 3 S5 units I had left, with the Phoenix at one wound an all. The trolls killed the Noble in the next turn. My wyvern kept on flying trying to outmanoeuvre his units and staying alive. In his last turn it had only one wound left. Only one of his Bolt Throwers was in range. It fired 6 shoots. One hit. It wounded. I had a 6+ AS left... I roll the die... Close my eyes... And he sighs "Nej". It survived and earned me a victory. He had selected to kill my Orc Horde but me killing his Silver Helms was much more worth. 13-7 in my favour was the final score.

More to come...

Alright, I really need to finish this report before my beard grows white with age.

Time for the third battle, the last battle of the first day.

This time I was up against Wood Elves. His list saw a unit of around 10 wild riders with a Highborn general in it, a Nobel on great eagle, a Noble on horse (riding free), a Noble BSB on footone treeman, three units of Glade Guards, a lord spellcaster with beast on foot, two units of Dryads and two eagles.

My only real previous experience with Wood Elves was pretty horrifying. In that game I deployed my army wide but it only resulted in on half being shoot to pieces and the other ran away due to terror. Not wanting that to happened again I used a sort of refused flank tactics. This also suited the scenario very well since it was Blood and Glory (only that you got a big VP bonus if you broke your enemy instead of auto-win) since I could keep all my banners well supported and focus on getting to his Glade Guards with all my energy. He did however deploy one unit on the other side of the board, where I only had my Pump Wagon.

The scenario also allowed us to deploy much closer to the enemy (thank you very much :) ) and since I got first turn I managed to set some very early charges. My wolf chariot thundered into his dryads while my Great Shaman got bold and charged his Nobel on eagle. The Squigs were forced to try and charge the dryads too but failed. I magic I spent most of my dice in an attempt to stomp his wild riders but not much happened. I did however get Fists of Gork through to help my Shaman in combat.

This is how it all looked at the end of his turn 2:
ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310968_zps1cfb33ce.webp

ai1222.photobucket.com_albums_dd482_Albin_Moller_P8310969_zps63d3c136.webp

There is is clear lack of wyverns in this image, and of wolf chariots too. Said chariot failed completely in combat (I am always surprised by how mean those dryads are) and the walking trees as a reasult slipped through my ranks and advanced towards my Rock Lobber. My Great Shaman was challenged by the Nobel and as it turned out he had something really annoying that caused me to only hit him on 6:s. Between Fist of Gork and the wyvern I had plenty of attacks anyway, and managed to get a wound through, while the puny elf did nothing. The puny elf didn't flee though. In his turn 1 he moved up his wild riders to stand behind the Noble on eagle, while the treeman and one eagle moved up his left flank and his Glade Guards slipped backwards, frighted by the masses of infantry advancing on them. Magic saw nothing interesting and my Fists of Gork was left in play. In combat my Shaman put another wound on the Nobel, but is still had one left due to that pesky eagle. In my turn 2 I advanced further with my infantry while my Pump Wagon on the far of right flank moved up to the side of his Glade Guard unit. In my magic phase the Fists of Gork were dispelled, but in the combat phase my stupid wyvern still had to go ahed and rip the head of the poor elf, leaving him and his bold rider open for a charge by the Wild Riders. And in his tuen2 they did indeed charge, and a flee reaction from my side would probably had resulted in being forced to flee of the table due to other possible chargers. S

Day 2
Match 4

Sadly I have no photos at all of this game. The match was against another member of my gaming club, so that was a bit sad. And as normal when I face people I play against regular the game was fucked up by the dice.

He too played OnG, and brought an army with Grimgor Ironhide as general with 40 Black Orcs, a lvl 4 Savage Orc Great Shaman in a big unit of Savage Big 'uns with a BSB aswell, a unit of 50 night goblins, a big spider, 4 boar boyz and 2 rock lobbas.

The scenario was to control two objectives placed on the centerline of the battlefield.

Through the whole game I had the favour of both Gork and Mork. In my first turn it killed 13 black orcs, 4 savage orcs, 2 boar boyz and put in 6 woulds on the spider. He too cast the great foot in his turn, killing some of my Big 'uns but then allowing me to stomp some more of his Black Orcs. The remaining Black Orcs were then eaten by the squigs and Grimgor fled and was run down. The squigs continued into the flank of the savage orcs while the troll charged to front. After several round of combat (and some lucky break test from my part) the savage orcs were all killed. My Troll had by this time all died but their place was taken by the big 'uns, and at the last moment my Goblin Big Boss on wolf charged into his rear.

On the other side of the field my wyvern flew around trying to hide from the lobbas until the Wolf Boss would have killed them, while still being able to help if needed. It didn't go too well and he was eventually hit y a big rock in the head. He failed his 4++ (as always) and was killed. The wyvern failed it's moster's reaction test and got frenzied and gained hatred. It charged into the night goblins, ate a few and stomp a few others. They failed their Ld5 check and ran. the wyvern pursued and killed them all, but landed on a Fanatic in the process, taking a few wounds. His Great Shamans last effort before being overwhelmed by squigs was to cast Foot of Gork again and taking the last wounds of the wyvern.

In the end all I had lost was the wyvern, the wolf chariot, the pump wagon and the mangler squig. He had lost everything. I also had controlled the objectives throughout most of the game and as if that wasn't enough I also go a VP bonus due to my army having high comp than his. It all ended with me winning 20-0

Things were starting to look up for me now, as I only had to take another 4 points to make it above the shame limit.

After that game it was time for lunch and voting fot best painted army. I was once again nominated, as were some other armies you probably have seen before if you have read this plog. You can see all the nominees bellow:
