STUFF!

Painted up those 3 Feral Orc Boar Riders a while ago and finally got a chance to take some photos of them. Here is the trio:

And with their unit they look like this (also included is the mounted Iron Orc Cheif I painted a while ago):

@MasterSpark: Thanks. For the shields my intention was to give them sort of a "maneater" look, as in GW ogres. They've all battles different foes and both looted their corpses and taken inspiration from them. One of them has both the shield and the helmet of a bretonnian knight, the helmet put at the top of the head rather than over it xD

Damnit, why did I miss commenting on this one?! They are awesome! The orkiest maneaters around, great idea there with all the looted equipment. And the command group steals all the attention - the biggest helmet around on the champion, that wonderfully colorful standard and that nice touch of a painted horn on the musician :)

Time for an update!

I went to the Swedish Masters in T9A recently and did some pimping of my army in preparation for it. Also added some new stuff, most notably a Goblin Witch Doctor on Wolf Chariot:

It was a very interesting model to build and paint, but I enjoyed it greatly. The GW Wolf Chariot was the first miniature I ever painted. A few years later I got a second one and painted up that I've been using ever since. The first one got recycled into a Snotling Pump Wagon, but the crew I kept, in their original paint job. At some point I picked up another Wolf Chariot on ebay, but without crew, and now these came together. I kept one of the crew members though, since I wanted a wizard on this one anyway.

Conversion wise there are few things going on on this model. The banner pole goblin got placed on top of the side wall to make room for the witch doctor, holding on for all his worth to the banner pole which is attached to the chariot. Had to do some resculpting of his legs to make it works. The crewman in front got a bow instead of his sword. The wheels got some scythes. The wolves were given leather harnesses.

Overall I am very happy with the model. It was done in a relatively short amount of time, which was nice. It felt very nostalgic to paint and it helped give me some perspective of how far I've come as a hobbyist.

Now, time for the other new expansion to the army. Again a bit nostalgic, and very iconic. If you havn't guessed it, I'm talking about hats! With T9A there is now an item that lets you randomise between all the 10 paths of the game, and I've long known I've wanted to expand my collection to better represent some of them. With my old 24 hats I did have proper representation for some hats already, but not all. In the end I made five new hats. These are the paths of the 9th Age.

Here is Mad 'At posing with my favorite of those five, Cosmology:

And the rest.

Divination. A path of fortune tellers and the like. I took this and made a top hat with a few tarot cards.

Evocation. Focusing on the manipulation of souls.

Occultism. A Path of occult secrets and blood sacrifices.

Thaumaturgy, miracle workers. It took this and made a pope hat with the symbol of thaumatury on the front.

And Cosmology again. A path focused on maintaining and exploiting the balance between chaos and cosmos, the father and the mother.

I also made a new hat rack, made using a 3D-printer:

And here is a collage of all the hats, arranged like the image above:
