I am coming to VC after TK. What I like about both armies is that they are so different from each other.

I love the TK mythology because I always enjoyed the ancient egyptian theme, and I think the models are much better, the skeletons are more animated with more elaborate armour and there is the scorpion, catapult, ushabti and the tomb king models which are great. I think they are tactically more challenging and more interesting to use.

So now I am starting a VC army...Why you might ask?

Well, VC have that gothic mythology going on. I love the idea of shambling zombies and the new book has given them many more options. They are no longer a big mass of rubbish troops led by an awesome character. Now they have som really good units in their own right. I think the mannfred model is great, finally a decent vampire model! I also love the black coach and new skeleton models. I like the raw aggression of the VC army which is different to the finesse of the TK army.

I can't decide which is better. I love both their mythology for different reasons.....

I've always liked vampires. I remember I used to draw vampires when I was very young and wanted to be one  I still like the whole mythology of vampires to this very day.
The Warhammer vampires are interesting fluff-wise, I love reading about them, plus I admit being a little Goth...oh dear.

I really like the TK, especially with their Egyptian theme (I've always been interested in Egypt) and amazing models to boot. The one main thing that made me interested in VC was Invocation of Nehek. The TK just don't have the ability to summon new models out of the ground!

My heart have always bin whit the dead, I was 12 the first time I buy a warhammer and it was a skeleton box for Vampire Counts, I didn't know what warhammer was but it was speaking too me and I knew that I had too have it. ^^
I didn't know what warhammer was until 3 years later and the choice was easy, Vampire Counts have vampires Tomb Kings don't.
But I like Tomb Kings too have nice units (like undead scorpions), but I can't forgive them fore killing Nagash.

I'm an Undead player (yes, from 4th ed), then GW replace the Undead with the Vampire Counts Book, so they forced me to play with vampires on 5th (but I still keep my old undead models). The counts was great on 5th, the black coach really rulz and St7 Re6 vampires was one of the most resilent and hard to kill characters on 5th.

Then 6th arrives and with ravening hordes the khemri appears as well as the vampires... but I don't like the change...
The 6th ed Vampires arrives soon and it will drive me to field my vampires again. I still believe it was a great book, but still I cryed for my black coach )
When khemri arrives 6th, I cannot resist and I got them. After a few games I feel the khemri army is not so fun to play with as the vampires...

And now with the new book I can tell, I will field the vampires in almost 90% of my games. At least until the new khemri book arrives.

I play both! undead are just cool and i like the egyptian-ness of the TK army, but I like the variedness of VC too. Plus i can use the same models for both with my Lahmian army. :D

When i started collecting Undead, i did it because Nagash. Now nagash is gone and the next coolest thing is vampires. and gladly my old collection didnt include many mummies or chariots. Only things that im not able to use is Nagash (still mad about him disappearing), catapults and skeleton archers.

As much as i love TK,i went for VC for numerous things:
1)newer plastic models,nicley sized Skellies!

2)the huge variety of units we have. There are numerous types of list we can take, which is fun and means we won't only ever see the same list all the time.

3)Themes and converting opportunities!I mean we can make zombiews from nearly any model we want, with a bit of greenstuff! You want a horde of zombie beastmen, you can!

Well thats my main reasons, but there are other things i like too.;)

VC are just so evil

and of course evil is better than good or neutral fractions

buts thats only my opinion and im... wait for it....

99 % corrupt 1% mad

I'm sure if a tomb king had an intact larynx that they would be more happy complaining about some stupid skin-bag with a heartbeat traipsing on their empty barren patch of dismal sand and stone instead of ripping out said heart in the name of primal hunger or dark progress either.

Oh, you're wrong! Nagash is not dead, he hides from Priest Kings in the cave of Nagashizzir (creating a vast army of undead to destroy Tomb Kings)

Tomb kings are just better then VC, cause they don't wanna be dead and they're far more disciplined then zombies and crypt ghouls...

!Tomb Kings are proud, Vampire Counts are evil and sneaky.

Nagashizzir must be a pretty big cave if it has 4 gigantic gates and consists of most of a mountain and what is beneath. Damn that sneaky vampiresque for sneakily building such a sneaky fortress surrounded by sneaky flying dead things and filled with sneaky ballista's with the forelimbs of sneaky giants for their huge (but excessively sneaky) arrows. :P

I actually build myself a TK army when they first came out.
However, now with the new book I can finally build myself a horde of undead which vision I enjoy quite a bit.

Also the Von Carnstein always have been my favorite bloodline.
Something about the nobility of the night is just irresistable.

what is fluff, or what does it stnd for?? anyway, i just like vampires cause they are rock hard and the minis look amazing now, such as varghulf blood nights and corpse carts

I figure I will throw my two cents in here. I chose Vampire Counts stictly on aesthetics. I like painting skeletons, don't get me wrong, but I do like to paint other things as well. Seeing as Tomb Kings is pretty much nothing but skeletons I went with Vampire Counts for variety in painting. In this way I will avoid boredom and hopefully finish my army in a timely manner.
