I can believe that. You get good pay for most jobs right? Common wealth as well too right, so just like the UK? Big arse Crocs too which id=s always a bonus.:zombie:

Yup, Australia is part of the commonwealth. Always somewhere I have wanted to visit, though the number of things out there that are either poisonous or will bite you is a little off putting xd

If I had the money I might migrate, the UK is really going downhill at the moment. Pretty much everything is sky-rocketing in price :(

As an american I'd have to say the Aussies are a much nicer people in general.I watch Masterchef US and the AU version...big difference in attitudes,all the americans are constantly trying to throw each other under the bus xD.

Ya I definately like that Australia has NHS like England, Australia and Newzealand are supose to have best NHS, and I love that its more relaxed and easier going. I just heard from some tv programme where people from England Emigrated to Australia that they wern't earning much compared to England, thats all.

England is going down hill on the moment, I hope it picks up soon, I love the history of England, there just isnt that history in America, Australia, Newzealand. The beautiful Tudor buildings and old ruins, Castles.

Yeah, I understand. There are plenty of us out there (especially the people on TV) who are, well...jerks. But I just thought I would mention that we're not all like that, and I am genuinely proud to be an American.

@merenwen

True, we've always been willing to demolish the old in favor of the new. But I think there's a good bit of history in the US. It's just a tad more recent than what you've got on the other side of the pond. :)

I dunno about that Bravo, america has history stretching back thousands of years. In addition to that, it shares Englands history anyway.

I'm talking more about the history of the United States in general. It only came into existence in 1776 (or 1781, depending on your point of view). Although you do have a very good point, there were people in the area long before that time.

From some of the stuff you see on TV America seems like a really cool place but then you turn on american cops and thats just sad...

But seriously America is one of the places I'd really want to visit. Seems like you have so much to see over there considering how varied the country is.

ok heres a link to one on my FB account i was working the pool bar and grille at the hotel that day.

I'm watching american Cops right now it's fantastic, I'm hooked, I can't get enough of the white trash on there, it's better than Big Brother!!!

Yes,we have the world's finest white trash xD.Just out of curiosity,do people in other countries ever mimic the "american accent"? If so,I'd love to see it,someone should post a vid.
I never really understood patriotism or nationalism,we are all the same,we just live on different dirt.I hope we are oneday all proud earthlings.
It would probably take an alien invasion to unite us...I mean,ya gotta hate somebody,right? :rolleyes:

My God that's kinda scary, not even an hour ago my friend and I were talking about how mundane and stupid all our wars and tribulations will seem when a bunch of aliens invade to probe us en-mass. The same friend (Canadian) and I often do our "I,m 'Merican" voice just cause we have a couple of American friends who seem to us a bit strange and overly Patriotic.I have other American friends, I'm not anti American don't worry. I have to say though one of the things I do find strange and intrigueing is the way Americans ( at least the ones I know or have met) have to do an sccent as soon as I tell them I'm British, and it's always, always terrible and embaressing usually starting with O' wello and ending with Guvna or just Guv. I don't know any British people that ever feel the need to do an American accent, strange.:zombie:

Abbysal: My american friends had to do an English accent when thy first found out I was English, and whenever I play games online on the xbox with some random americans (such as when im playing Halo or Left 4 dead) every american person says hello to me in a really bad british accent, its hilarious! Makes me laugh every time. then there is always a list of words I have to say in my english accent, such as "pawn shop, trash, how are you, sorry". its rather amusing how fascinated they are. :D

Count Lasombra: I have never understood patriotism or nationalism either, I have had many arguments with som of my very patriotic friends about my lack of patriotism, I think exactly the same as you!

I don't know if I can really explain nationalism either. I think for me it's really just a matter of pride in where I'm from. My family's lived in Pennsylvania for generations, and I can't imagine being anything but 'American.' It's kinda hard to describe...maybe that's what eight years of Boy Scouts does to you. :)

@Lasombra

Military traditions maybe, but I don't know if it's about enmity. I'm proud to be an American, but it's not like I have some sort of distaste towards other countries. I just think it would be sad to lose all of our traditions and culture in favor of a global civilization. Every country has something, good or bad, that makes it unique.

Proud of what exactly? I could just as well be proud of the colour of my eyes.I could have busted out of that uterus anywhere,but in my infinite wisdom I chose the good'ol US of A! :clown:
Don't you want to pour all the cultures into the melting pot?
A global federal government would put an end to alot of war and bloodshed.There would no longer be the need for standing armies or arms races,no need for nukes,no more big companies using 3rd world countries as sweatshops(Global minimum wage)
If Africa were part of America there is no way they just let everyone die of famine and disease just because they don't have money.-That is why-,we have surplusses of food and medicine..."No Payee! No Livee!"
It's the US and THEM mentality that allows this to happen.

You busted out in the US?

But spell colour with a U?

This is how I show my patriotism: At Christmas I pull crackers, read the stupid joke, wear the paper crown and cook Roast Beef, with Horseradish and Yorkshire puddings. Then (Because I have yet to meet an American who would help me)I devour an entire Christmas Pudding with Brandy and Cream.

Here's a picture (to bring things back on track) of me and my Children on Christmas morning.

That's awesome,I love the hat.I think the words colour and armour look cooler with the u in them.It was dropped in an attempt to dumb down the language,overall I'd have to say it was quite succesful.
