The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
He doesn't want to return to the Old World until he could do it with overwhelming force. His Lhamian rival stole an artifact that lets her usurp control of skeletons (though Renliss figures there is a 50% chance the Tomb Kings will steal it back).
Renliss isn't sure he can gain arcane power...
The way I figure it, you put a BSB in your best unit. When you win, that's +1 CR which means you are more likely to break the other side.
If you lose that's TWO fewer casualties in that unit. For Grave Guard and above that pays for the cost of the BSB. That's before you count other units...
I am referring to Luthor Harkon of the Vampire Coast. His zombie pirates just seem to be a speed bump for Lustrian raiders. There can't be that much to pirate in that section of waters. What is collecting plunder for anyway?
Does he want to take out the Lizardmen? Does he want to go back...
In my own fluff piece, my main character was pretty happy to have a mercenary cannon given that he was gunning for Lizardmen. he even gave the mercenaries the go-ahead to shoot through his weaker troops when they were engaged fighting big monsters.
If any army would be okay with a chance of...
gothic horror stories are often internal and personal. I would consider infected humans mutating differently based on their own biggest personal character flaw.
I’m working on LM ghouls for my Lustrian themed undead.
Fluffwise usually tainted spawning pools produce sickly Lizardmen who die within minutes of their spawnings. I figured if you toss in some necromantic magic into a tainted pool you would get Lizardmen ghouls instead. The Quatlixa, or...
I'm with Blutsauger, not every unit should be looked at solely through the lens of "will it kill it earn it's points back?" You need to look at the overall battle. The zombies will probably die either way but if you can buy an extra round of survival that can be very beneficial to you.
RE: Scalenex's Plog, My Quest for Lustrian Undead - New Unit Zombies 3-7-14
I created a second Skink zombie filler, not as intricate as the last one, but I got this one done a lot faster now that I know the basic techniques.
Here's my newest finished work. Human zombies with swamp...
Okay I guess the 40 mm voices have it. From a game play perspective, 40 mm is advantage for presenting a smaller target and less frontage. From a modeling perspective that gives me less canvas to work with. I think I may put it on a raised platform of some sort so I can go a bit wider and...
I am working on making an undead army that is mostly conversions.
I am going with a cosmopolitan force cobbled together by a Vampire Lord exiled to Lustria.
I'm thinking of making an abyssal terror that's a Frankenstein-type monster composed of dead dinosaurs and Chaos mutated...
RE: Scalenex's Plog, My Quest for Lustrian Undead - New Unit Zombies 3-7-14
Based all my painted models. I have 12 completely finished zombies and one filler base done. I have five more models and another filler nearing completion and about 20-ish converted models waiting for paint...
RE: Scalenex's Plog, My Quest for Lustrian Undead - New Zombies 11-10-2013
I've edited some earlier posts to include less blurry photos. This is a zombie unit filler I entered in Lustria's small painting contest, the Skinkathalon.
This is also my first serious attempt at basing. I use...

Newly Painted Lizardmen Zombies
Finally did some painting. Now my completed zombie family numbers 12 members. (Still short of legal size but I can field lots of unpainted zombies).
My new zombies use the light blue base with dark...
I'd imagine a lot of Scouts you can just ignore if they aren't packing poison or something similar. What is a group of Empire Huntsmen going to do? Nothing of consequence. S3 shooting won't threaten any of the big VC monsters or put a dent in a infantry block. It's not like there are any war...
Don't try this when your opponents have a nasty Scout option like Dwarf Rangers or Ogre Maneaters. It really sucks to not have the Watchtower and still go second.
How come no one has suggested ghouls for defending a watchtower? With a limit of 10 models that's 20 attacks against 10 attacks...
I run a Skink Priest with an Opal Amulet and Forbidden Rod on most of my Lizardmen lists and I rarely regret it. I see no reason why it wouldn't carry over to Vampire Counts.
If your Necromancer does survive, you can use the Lore of Vampires attribute to heal the damage pretty easily.
I actually was lucky enough to get lots of Cursed Company models in two e-bay lots with lots of Dogs of Wars minis (I sort of collect Dogs of War too). I have 42 Cursed Company models plus 9 of the fancy metal VC skeletons. My friend who also has a fledgling Vampire Counts army found some good...
I remember seeing lots of photos of them before but now many of the photos are unviewable. Anyway I'm planning to use Skinks, Saurus, Dwarfs, humans, and Skaven to make multi-racial Spirit Hosts.
First question: How many models per base? Too few might look cheap. Too many might make it...
